I am absolutely addicted to the lemon farro chicken soup. It's so good. These days I mostly take the food to go and take it home. The ordering process on their website works great, the orders are always ready on time and well prepared. The restaurant dining space is clean and beautiful if you want to dine in. The staff always have a smile on their face, and are glad to see you. They really make the location shine with their good energy. I wish we had more options like Mendocino in our neighborhood. I have made the decision to return my college degree to the University of Texas for my decision to pay $26 for this garbage pizza. I could sit here and list 250 pizza places in Austin that are better, but I have to go stuff this trash down my garbage disposal. Furthermore, the fact that this place has remained in business for more than a week has caused me to lose faith in a free market system. That's right, Double Dave's has made me a communist. post script... If you do attempt to forego my advice and attempt to purchase an edible meal from a place that can't even make a pizza better than Totino's, don't pay for extra cheese. Because you ain't getting cheese regardless. The box says handcrafted goodness, but it's machine crafted nastiness. DoubleDave's has inspired me to create a scale of disgustitude. 1 being DoubleDave's, 6 being dominoes, 7 being Tombstone, 8 being Pizza Hut with a driver with serious B.O., 9 being a string cheese dipped in flour, and 10 being a passable pizza restaurant. The mass of the dough bubble on one slice is equal to or greater than, the total amount of cheese on my entire extra cheese pizza. If you include the sauce and toppings. Full disclosure, I had a couple drinks, and got super hungry. I do not recommend eating a cardboard pizza box, but given the choice, there is no alternative. What's the difference between a double Dave's pizza and a turd? If I was starving to death, I would eat a turd. I let my dog lick a slice. She puked and then ate her own puke. if you are looking to support your local pizza joint, take your business elsewhere. i have been to this location several times. the last few times i saw and heard things that were more then appalling. i have witnessed the employees filling glasses with beer and taking them into what looks like a fridge in the back!! are there no cameras for surveillance? i can not believe there are people working here UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL!! handling food and money! i have heard fowl language and CUSSING from the employees. especially from one mo-hawked fellow. as i stood at the counter waiting for someone to finally see me and hand me a to-go box, i heard him using derogatory language to another co-worker of his who had a very unhappy look on their face. this was not a joke. i went back on one last occasion because it is on my way from work to home and had phoned in the order to pick it up and not dine in the facility, but when i arrived to find that my order still had a few more minutes, i sat to wait. while i was waiting i heard some of the coworkers speaking about marijuana and that they will be "smoking in the back" !!!! is there no one running this place? I'm not sure if they thought i couldn't hear them or wouldn't care because it was later in the evening but i will no longer support a business that operates this way and i will GLADLY go out of my way to stop at a different pizza shop.. i am still in awe of all i witnessed!! ***A forever customer!*** my husband and I order from here often and our pizza was delivered speedy quick as always. Upon opening we realized the order was wrong- first time ever. Now pizza is pizza is pizza and I love all pizza BUT I happen to be pregnant and was unable to eat the incorrect pizza. My husband called, the person on the phone apologized and put in a hot order, and no less than 15 minutes later the OWNER hand delivered us a new pizza. We were so grateful and so appreciative. Yeah, no pizza buffet at the new location really stinks, but the pizza is still really good even if its on the expensive side. Double Dave's will get you to heart attack zone twice as fast as those other guys. Still, try the philly cheese steak pizza its uniquely addicting. read more
