Best Sandwich in Austin!! Worth going to, you get a quality meal from a super friendly staff. 100/10 recommend

    Italian sandwich

Didn't know what to eat, and wanted something light, was recommended this place. The service was amazing, the guy recommended the Italian sandwich, it came with two sauces on the side and the spicy one was so good I bought a jar. Great service, great food. A good place to stop and get some grub!

Stopping in here for a sammich; sure glad I did!! The Italian panini is so freakin good! The young man whose parents own the place was working in there with his sister. He told me his story about why they opened up. So inspiring! And such a sweet guy! The whole staff was awesome! I don't live in Austin and I've been craving another!! The bread looked hard but was perfect! A few tables inside and more on a patio out front. Wish there was one of these in DFW.

First time trying this spot, and I'll be back. They stay away from seeds oil (which is a huge plus!!) The sandwiches are delicious!!! We tried the meatball this time, that was a 10/10. You can also add to the sandwiches.. so feel free to get creative when your ordering :)

    Porchetta sandwich

I've been meaning to try this place so placed an order online and got it within 15-20 min. Maybe I was hyping it up, but while I liked the porchetta sandwich, I'm not sure I'd go out of my way for it. That said, I think it'd make a good lunch spot if you're already downtown and craving a sandwich! The grilled cheese was good too. Prices a bit high, but it is downtown so somewhat expected.

I thought Meat & Bread was fantastic! I arrived at 11am, just as it was about to open. The friendly servers mentioned that they were finishing up baking the bread, which was like music to my ears. I stood in front of the counter and watched the cook chop the meat (I believe for the Porchetta sandwich) as pieces of pork sprayed about. It looked unbelievably delicious. What I love about Austin is that great food is ingrained in the culture. It was a tough choice, but I opted for the Italian Panino sandwich because I was in the mood for deli meat and also got the kale caesar. They packed it for me and I took off on my bike rental headed for any park bench I could find. It was a very hot late June day in Austin - I thought even hotter than where I live in south Florida. As a visiter to Austin, I relied on Yelp to pick Meat & Bread for lunch - once again Yelp helped steer me in the right direction.

Service is absolutely above and beyond This establishment does a concerted effort to make sure of that. What they make is phenomenal.

We enjoyed this meal. Would recommend to others for a good sandwich downtown. Side note: Owners reply to the 5 to 1 star review is off putting, yelp reviews are meant to be useful and informative to businesses on how they can do better, would recommend staying open to customer input. Other than seeing that review reply, I was pleased with this place.

    Meatball sandwich

The food was great, I had the meatball sandwich and it was warm, filling, and hearty. They were out of the aoli it came with but offered a basil one instead which offered a unique flavor to the sandwich. The bread was probably my favorite part, fresh, crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside, and delicious. This is a great quick service place for lunch. It's nothing fancy inside but it had a decent amount of seating and they were fast and friendly with their service. I do wish there was a large selection on the menu but overall I would recommend.

    Buffalo Chicken Sandwich
    Wilson L.

I couldn't decide between the buffalo chicken or meatball... so I got both! The sandwiches itself were good, easy recommend with the meatball sub having a slight edge. I believe there are breadcrumbs inside the sandwich so you get a double crunch. What really elevates Meat & Bread is the sambal and mustard that's served along side each sandwich. Doesn't taste like anything I've had before but really makes a difference

    Porchetta
    Keeley ..

Prompt service and recommendation for the Porchetta sandwich which was very enjoyable! Would definitely come again. Stayed here and worked for a few hours as well. Relaxed and not too busy mid afternoon!

This has to be one of my favorite sandwiches I've ever had! I got the Porchetta Sandwich and it was crafted so beautifully! This ranks right next to NYC's Salt Hank in my book! Team was very proud to be working as a unit, loved it!

    The porchetta looked incredible.

After hearing only good things about Meat and Bread, myself and some friends decided to give it a try for a week day lunch. It's a cute little spot on the 1st floor of the 360 Condos with both indoor and outdoor seating. Offering order ahead and counter service, the line moves quickly. The employees were incredibly friendly and helpful as we asked some questions about the menu. We got the Porchetta, Buffalo Chicken, and Eggplant Parm sandwiches along with a side of the Calabrian Chili Aioli. They're known for their Porchetta and we see why. That sandwich was phenomenal in both texture and flavor. The Buffalo Chicken was a good mix of spicy and tasty. The Eggplant Parm was very good as well and had a great ratio of tomato to cheese to herbs. I look forward to coming back and trying the Meatball sandwich and more.

The care and attention to detail they put in does not go unnoticed and is unmatched. The entire menu is incredible and every single dish is worth trying. The Kinda French quesadilla is probably one of the best things I've ever eaten in my entire life and the guacamousse sauce is You can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches either (the Poulet Roti Baguette and the Parisian are my personal faves ) and of course the traditional Rotisserie chicken- don't skip on those potatoes either- they are SO good and really tie everything together. I unfortunately don't live in Austin anymore so I don't get to visit them nearly as often as I'd like to, but I always recommend them to locals and anyone visiting- seriously some of the best food you'll ever have, and always served with so much love and care

Not sure if all the burgers are always cooked well-done, but that's how ours were made (and was never asked if I wanted otherwise). Also ordered a side of fried plantains that came with a small cup of ketchup. They were harder than I was expecting, and not to salted. Next time I think I'd just order the fries. Waited at the window to order for several minutes while the guy took a phone call, then had a hard time hearing him take my order since he was still on his call and had his mask on (pandemic issues...and maybe this is where he asked how I wanted my burgers cooked?? Who knows, couldn't hear him!). Then it took awhile for the order to come out. By the time I got the food and back to our table, our friends had already purchased and eaten their food from other food trucks, so that was a bummer. Good option if you're in the food truck park. We didn't want the caramelized onions so we asked for raw onions but the cashier/cook didn't speak English so the most we could communicate was "no onions." Also, the payment machine was all in Spanish (for selecting tip, signature, etc) so you better brush up on your Spanish if you're paying by credit card! There were cigarette butts on the ground and on the tables and a homeless person hanging out at the benches as well. I ordered fries at first but they were sold out. Last week I was on a break from keto, and my husband read my mind. He took me here as the first stop on a rainy Friday night date. I know they have good sandwiches, but they also have their "bait shop" schtick. They're not near any significant fishing spots, and I didn't see any evidence of bait, but whatever. Their sandwiches are good, so they can get away with it. While I ate my sandwich on the patio, we discussed the novelty nature of many Austin businesses, and which ones can hold up and which ones are pure hype. I ordered the Club sandwich. It's not a true triple-decker club, but it was the sandwich that had the best variety of fillings in my opinion. Everything you'd expect in a classic club, but easier to eat because it wasn't stacked absurdly tall like other clubs. The sourdough bread was very crispy, and the meats, cheese, and vegetables worked well inside. On the side I got potato salad which I like more than their other option, which was chips, but the potato salad wasn't anything special. Their patio was the perfect spot to enjoy a rainstorm. They have some glider chairs off to the side that are good for lounging on, but when it really started to rain we moved in to the center of the patio. I'm glad I got a chance to try Handsome Dan's. I doubt I'll be back anytime soon because huge sandwiches like this need to be an occasional treat for me, but if you're in the Springdale area looking for a satisfying meal, this is it!

He was warm, personable, and genuinely Texas-friendly, which immediately set a positive tone for the experience. Ordering a cheesesteak is a simple three-step process: 1) Pick your cheese. 2) Choose your toppings. 3) Be polite and place your order. (I loved that part!) I ordered the cheesesteak with American cheese and grilled onions, along with a side of fries. Let me tell you...this sandwich completely exceeded my expectations! For a moment, I felt like I was back in Philly. The bread was soft, fresh, and flavorful. The steak was unbelievably tender and packed with flavor...so good that I couldn't stop talking about it.
