    Pizza Lunch!
    Tate V.

DOUBLE DAVE'S PIZZAWORKS 07-02-24 We walk in and you can tell it's an older restaurant. The place was clean and staff friendly. Me and my grandson ate lunch here. We had the buffet which had Pizza, Spaghetti with sauce and a Salad Bar. The buffet was pretty well stocked with a good variety. Salad Bar was nice and had many choices. They even had Desert pizzas. Overall it was OK, nothing special. Food was bland. It was busy so many people like it. As with most places you have a hit or miss! Today was a miss for me. Maybe give it another try on down the road.

the pizza was not very good. option for it to come in an extra large size. ingredients are not very fresh.

    Chocolate Chip Pizza

Stopped by on the way through Denton for the infamous Chocolate Chip Pizza. It did not disappoint. It was awesome. We ordered both a normal pizza(hamburger and mushroom) and the desert pizza to go. The service was quick, the restrooms clean and the staff were friendly. Best desert pizza around!!!

This place needs some updated review. $11.99 per person and we went there on Saturday evening. Soda was $2.79. We had a nice dinner and owner/manager was busy putting pizzas out non-stop. Place was about half full yet, we had more than enough fresh pizzas for everyone. Considering inflation and current economy, this place delivers. Definitely better than Cici's. They moved so make sure to check the map before you leave. Address is 2002 W. University Dr. Place is new so it's very clean. One downside is sign is small, dark so it's hard to miss.

It's has a great look and they played 90s alternative music videos which added to this review. I ordered their red wine and stuffed mushrooms $11. It was baked crimini mushrooms stuffed with house made whipped ricotta and italian bread crumbs with creamy pesto. I'll just say this was the perfect app/meal for one. It paired so well with my red wine. Fo For our main we ordered chicken spaghetti bake $17.50. It consisted of fresh house-made spaghetti baked with house roasted chicken, white cheddar cream sauce, calabrese chili peppers, italian pico, five cheese blend. Wish we had looked a litte harder on this selection. We thought it was a chicken Alfredo. So this is defintley packed with cheese, more of a Mac and cheese bake. Everything was good! The john McClain was a bit too much for me with the egg but happy was able to try it! I would love to come back and try more off the menu!

To be clear, I celebrate the Denton fusion; it's one of my fave things about gems like Picone & Komodo Loco- the cuisine cannot be found anywhere else. Picone's chicken cutlets = mind blowing. The Piccata is my fave, but you really can't go wrong with any of their chicken parms. Their menu is fairly simple - no Cheesecake Factory novel to read. Check their website because they change their menu frequently. I love that they do this. Many things are staples but I've never been mad for choosing something new. Besides piccata, my partner likes the smash burger. I love the burnt carrots. Their focaccia pizza was outstanding. We like the potatoes and the Cesar salad, but they're outshined by the rest of the menu so we rarely get them. My recommendation: get a chicken parm of your choosing & one of their specials. Then share with one of your peeps. (The cutlets are the size of your head). Now let's talk staff and service. I have never ever had bad service there & have thoroughly enjoyed all interactions with staff. I feel like everyone really likes being there & cares about what they do. Go in with joy and joy will be returned to you. Ambiance: You order at the counter when you walk in. They'll give you a number and you sit wherever. It's super-casual, kinda small-ish hole-in-the-wall in the best way. It's always been doing a brisk business when we've gone. Be aware that the back room can get loud because of acoustics so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to it. There is limited onsite parking, but ton of street parking all around. I think that covers it. :) Enjoy!!

People seemed to love Picone, so we went! Interesting place. Small and casual. There is a counter at the front, and on the counter is a board which shows the menu. We were told we could take a picture of the menu with our phones, sit down and peruse it, or just go ahead and order. We ordered, were given a number card to place on our table, and the food was brought to us. MIL and I got the chicken parm, and SIL got the chicken piccata. SIL and I thought our meals were delicious. MIL said her chicken was overcooked and she didn't enjoy it. (She also didn't like that there were no printed menus, but she's 87 and likes things how she likes them.) The chicken parm comes with "Sunday Sauce," which they told me is marinara. To me, it was spicier than marinara, and I really liked it. The portions were very large, and I took most of my food home with me. I didn't notice if they offered desserts or not. In Boston we have great Italian food, and I hadn't found that in Denton - until now. This was surprisingly good food and I would definitely return.
