I walked in during a store meeting but they never skipped a beat. A sweet young man came to the counter and asked how he could help. I explained I had never been here before but heard they were good and I asked him if he could recommended something. I told him I love spinach. He said "Try the spinach Stromboli" I ordered and took it home ate a piece and all I can say is YUM! It was not overloaded with cheese which other places do. I love spinach. I want to start off by saying the service is always excellent! One of the best parts of this place. The space itself is also nice and it is usually easy to find good seating, even for large groups. The food is decent. The one complaint I have is the cheese on the pizza does not taste very good in my opinion. It always tastes off. But they have other things to eat as well. read more

Double Dave's is an average pizza place. I've tried the lunch stromboli a couple times now. They cut it into manageable pieces, but the end pieces are mostly bread. The amount of food for the price isn't great. It's usually pretty quiet at lunch. The random signs in the dining area is fun at first, but there is no theme. This location is much nicer then the fourth street location, but the results are the same. Nom Nom Nom... that is all you'll hear if you visit. The lunch buffet is packed with hot and delicious pizza creations, and the people eating here know if they stop to talk much they will miss the next thing to come out of the kitchen. My favorites are the BBQ chicken pizza, stromboli, cheese pizza, pepperoni rolls (dear god they are awesome!), and the supreme. the only real tip I can give about DD is to wear cargo pants when you visit because you will want to stuff your pockets with pepperoni rolls before you leave -- I can promise you. read more

It was my first time eating here with my acquaintance. We've eaten at Gatti Pizza and thought it'll be the same experience. That's where we were wrong, this establishment isn't too welcoming for other races if you are not Caucasian. Her and I were chomping down on some pizza and noticed every time we looked up someone was staring at us. We both felt uncomfortable. Another thing, I don't think the PizzaWorks was initially meant for children because the arcade area is extremely small and only consist of coin operated games and alcohol is served here. I don't think I can order alcohol at Gatti pizza. This establishment is small and not designed for a larger crowd. While we were sitting at the table eating lots of people were waiting at one of the tables that hadn't been cleaned and once we were sitting and chatting a couple of people kept circling around our table. The buffet feel isn't here: it isn't like you go up and get your food and leave. Nope, there was a line to get your drinks, line to get your pizza, desserts, and breadsticks. A line to place a order at the counter. The noise level is loud, due to the loud screams of children. It was pretty annoying when we were trying to eat, a child reached over to our side, they constantly stared, and made noises while we ate. I had to tell a couple of kids to turn around. I don't even get that at Gatti's. However, though; the pizza, breadsticks, and desserts was decent, the price of the buffet is not worth the atmosphere you'll receive here. read more

TLDR: not a friendly experience. There are better local pizza places in Lubbock. I ate here for the first time today. I was not too impressed by the whole experience. The service was not super friendly and the overpriced pizza was mediocre. The pizza rolls were nothing special either. Honestly only slightly better than Little Cesar's and their pizza is half the cost. I have no reason to come back when there's other local pizza places that make me taste the love that was put into every slice and are more reasonably priced. Service is horrible. I walked up the counter and the guy would not look at me or speak to me . I stood there for a few minuets waiting on him to say something and he never said a word . I had to call a guy in the back to take my order . If your going to hire someone to take peoples orders they should be friendly and willing to talk to people that are going to give you money . I actually called in to see if you had been injured or kidnapped - only to be brushed aside. When you finally got here, I was so starved I was willing to accept anything you offered. But our relationship just doesn't seem to matter, does it? Like a limp pizza with so much grease and curdled looking cheese that whatever dough was there seemed to disintegrate...but beggars can't be choosers, can they? The grandkids love this place since the buffet culture is alive and well. The budget was hot and the staff tried really hard to keep it d stocked. I'd recommend that they lean more toward keeping cheeses and pepperoni on the buffet though. Meat lovers and various other mixes are great but kids love the basic cheese and pepperoni most of all. The atmosphere is good and the prices are fair. The restaurant is clean and well laid out. Service is quick but the main menu needs to get prices added. I love Double Dave's and it's sad that I'm going to have to be taking my business elsewhere. The customer service I experienced today was beyond upsetting and inappropriate. I called and made a pick up order and was told my order would be ready in 30 minutes. I waited the requested amount of time and drove over where I walked up to the counter and paid for my order and was told it would only be 5 more minutes. After 20+ minutes of waiting, being ignored by the staff and seeing customer after customer receive their orders, I went back up to the counter. The employee looked at me asked for my name again and slammed my order down on the counter without an apology or reason. I ordered the pizza rolls and I really wanted to be impressed but these were nothing more than leftover dough and a few pieces of thin pepperoni. If there was cheese, it was so very little I could not see it or taste it. There was a brown crispy spot under the roll where I suspect what ever cheese there was oozed out. This dish has potential but they have missed the mark. Charge a little more but make it tasty. Even a little sauce or other options for ingredients. Had their pizza delivered twice. Once with regular crust and once with wheat crust. The regular crust gets my vote as the wheat crust was too soft and like bread for a good pizza. I came here with a few friends on a Tuesday night. Tuesday="Two for one Tuesday" aka I got 4 big pepperoni rolls for $3.25 and it was glorious. The first ranch was free and it is a must to go with your pepperoni rolls. I'm not sure of anything else on the menu is any good, but what I got was delightful. I LOVE their Chicken Pesto sandwich. It's incredible. They always are very nice when they deliver, and because I'm right across the street they are sweet enough not to require me to have to spend $10 on my order.
