The building is very historic with a small and lively bar and a narrow winding staircase to get to the quaint second floor area where we dined. Most of the tables had a sofa seating option and some eclectic groupings of chairs. Our server was friendly and efficient. We planned to begin our meal with the grilled octopus (that had an interesting preparation including broccoli rabe and raisins) but they were out of the octopus. We pivoted to the fennel salad which included shaved cheese, celery, pine nuts and a zesty lemon dressing. We'll try the octopus next time but we were very pleased with the salad. For our entrees we enjoyed the grilled scallops and the sea bass. Both were delicious. Highly recommend The Salt House.

I'll say Invertase Brewing came to the rescue a few weeks back...well if being the only brewery…read morearound Lambertville, NJ is coming to the rescue then it sure did that! My wife and I were recently in these neck of the woods and we stopped in here for a little bit, with some solid suds results. You see, my wife doesn't partake in the brews (Invertase did have a root beer available, just for those curious), so this was solely a stop for me and something I wanted to do quickly. Luckily, despite the crowdedness of the place, Invertase had a few spots by the end of their bar area that we were able to grab while I sipped on a flight of four brews. Before diving further into those beer options, I'll say Invertase definitely had its fill of people on a Friday night, but that makes sense being the only place really in the area that was making its own beer. The interior seemed clean and had that "brewery feel", especially with the acoustic guitar man playing at the front. The people behind the bar were also pretty friendly which is always nice and not necessarily a given everywhere you go. Stuck on what to get to round out my flight, I was given a suggestion or two that helped complete things (and it was a mighty fine suggestion I might add!). Now jumping into those brews and what was available, Invertase definitely checks many boxes with a nice mixture of classic and eclectic options. Case in point: the Snowscape winter warmer was on point, while the Notes From Mom PB&J sour was...interesting. I can't say I hated it, though I'm not sure I could see myself drinking a full pint. Other brews looked and sounded good as well with a total of 10 options available. Not too shabby. Overall, Invertase Brewing definitely has a strong hold on the beer scene in this area (easy when they're the only guys in town!). They show some creativity in options while also delivering some classic beer style choices as well. Though nothing necessarily jumped out at me as worthy of cans (they had some available), I'd still venture to say I'd gladly return in the future if I find myself in these parts again. Well, I may be pigeonholed here anyway if they're still the only brewery in Lambertville!

Founded in 2019 by a family trio: son Stephen (who holds a degree in mechanical engineering), father Steve (a biochemist) and mother Karen (a microbiologist). The word 'invertase' is the name of the enzyme used to break down sucrose. Together they bring a scientist's precision to the brewing process. My girlfriend and I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon in March after wandering around Lambertville for a bit. The taproom has a nice sized parking lot. The taproom itself was about a third full, rather plainly decorated, and there was a guy off to the side selling hotdogs and walking nachos. My girlfriend and I each tried a flight from a taplist of ten different beers. The flights were served in red plastic baskets, the kind you would get at a fast food place, which was certainly an interesting choice.... Most of what we tried was decent, nothing exciting, but the real standout to me was the Winter Dreamz. 8% winter warmer with all the right notes of vanilla, lactose, orange, cinnamon. Definitely unlike any other winter ale I've ever had - in a good way. Our two flights, after tax and tip, came to $36.06, which is definitely on the higher side for flights at NJ breweries. Overall a nice place with nice people and good beer, one that we would return to.

Our server was friendly, outgoing, helpful, and responsive. There is a generous, tasty bread basket to welcome you. For appetizers we got the calamari and the crispy brussel sprouts - both were excellent and our table loved them. Entrees ranged from the Halibut & Shrimp with Mashed Cauliflower (the clear winner of the night), the Pork Chop special (which was fine, not extraordinary), the Steak (which was good), and the Crispy Eggplant (which was a generous portion and tasty). The sides of loaded baked potatoes and broccoli were ample and good. We shared a dessert which was the homemade mint ice cream cake which was delicious. For the birthday celebration, they literally brought out an "adult pup cup" - dollop of whipped cream in a champagne flute with a sparkler. Based on the prices of the food and overall atmosphere, this was a big missed opportunity for customer delight. Every other place comparable that we've been to (all over the country for that matter) would have had an actual dessert (maybe small sized) to give to the birthday guest. We had a good laugh about it. The menu would compel us to come back, but not for a special celebration.

A Hidden Gem in Lambertville - Cocktails, Cuisine & Character All in One Spot! We came to…read moreLambertville, PA on a whim during a trip from Miami, looking to explore a charming small town with history, heart, and hopefully some hidden treasures. With zero expectations and a love for antiquing and supporting small businesses, we were immediately smitten by the cobblestone beauty and old-town charm. But the real gem of this visit? T 54 - a restaurant that completely stole our hearts (and taste buds). From the moment we walked into this quaint little spot that seats no more than 68 people, we knew we were somewhere special. The greeting was warm, welcoming, and relaxed - a "sit wherever you'd like" vibe that instantly made us feel like locals. But then came the moment that made the entire trip: David, the bartender. Let me just say this - if Lambertville has a mayor of cocktails, it's him. I asked David to surprise us with something extraordinary, and WOW did he deliver. First up, the espresso martini - a drink I've had hundreds of times, yet never like this. Smooth, bold, balanced - truly remarkable. I asked him what his next best was and he handed me the Green Hope - a gin-based masterpiece that was bright, herbaceous, and perfectly crafted. Drink three? The showstopper: The Lambertville David-Aayyyy - his own off-menu spin on their Lambertville Rose cocktail, and an absolute knockout. The man is a cocktail magician. Now let's talk about the food. I ordered the burger and fries and let me be real with you - this wasn't just a burger. This was a BURGERRRRR. Perfectly seasoned, juicy, and topped with a torched cheese interior (yes, torched... and yes, it matters), fresh toppings, and a house-made aioli that I wanted to bottle and take home. The fries? Imagine a single potato sliced into thick, golden quarters, crisped and seasoned to perfection. They're rustic, hearty, and addictive. My man had the eggs benedict with prosciutto, and I kid you not - I've never seen a plate licked so clean. It was that good. Like, "don't even need to run this plate through the dishwasher" level good. From the intimate atmosphere to the elevated drinks, and seriously impressive food, T 54 is a place that blends soul, flavor, and genuine hospitality in a way that's rare to find. Whether you're a local or just passing through like us, make the time to visit this place. Ask for David. Trust him. And bring your appetite. This is the kind of place that makes you fall in love with small towns all over again.

After a few minutes, they said they could squeeze us in. It felt a bit odd -- the space isn't very large, so you'd expect the dining room to be easier to manage. We shared the burger and the carbonara. Both dishes were underwhelming, especially given the expectations we had for this spot. The burger was on the bland side, and the carbonara was made with store‑bought noodles, which took away from the dish. While the food missed the mark, the dining area itself is very nice and the service was great.
