If you stay at this Double Tree with your Service Dog after you check out you will get your card charged an additional $150.00 dollars for room cleaning without even being told. They tell you the charge is because the room smelled like pee and they had to do a deep cleaning. even when you know your dog did not pee and you even checked the room prior to checking out. This is a fraud on Service Dog owners it is a way they get to charge you for your dog even though the ADA law states they can not charge you for a Service Dog, It is your word against theirs. If you do stay their you might as well let your dog pee in the room because you will be charged anyway or make sure you take the manager to your room to inspect it with you prior to checkout. We had an excellent 4 days here in May 2026 mainly because the staff are so awesome. Our ground floor double queen bed room looked over the pool and we loved hanging out in the pool and hot tub. The restaurant is really great but an amazing breakfast and delicious suppers and the staff were so nice especially KeiKei and a nice gentleman who has worked there 18 years, I can't remember his name, but he runs the breakfast service. My mom is 89 and we were in town for my nephew's graduation and the room was perfect for us. We liked the inner courtyard in the lobby and it was very easy to get around Claremont by Lyft. Next Door is a Trader Joe's, which is very useful. We would definitely stay there again. read more

First of all, this hotel has the most friendly staff around! Especially a shout out to the breakfast team! We've been coming there for the past four years because we had a son at a local university. They always welcomed us. The air-conditioning is ice cold as opposed to some other hotels we've stayed at locally. Of course the cookies are awesome and they'll give you as many as you want. :- the general manager of the hotel at one point had to get involved in a bit of a reservation snafu and took care of it. We hosted a nice Hall of Fame event here and everyone said they enjoyed their time here. We had video screens and a large attendance of about 250 people and the Double Tree easily accommodated everything we needed. The only small downside was the catering food-- it was kind of lacking flavor. Someone I know ordered a vegetarian plate hoping to get pasta and literally got 6 grilled veggies (2 carrots, 2 zucchini and 2 squash) with no salt, pepper or seasoning. My chicken was fine, nothing to write home about. All in all, the event experience was very nice. read more

This is a great hotel near the colleges. I highly recommend staying here. We stayed here for a mother son tennis tournament. Carlos in sales and marketing was polite and top notch to deal with. The hotel was clean, solid and inviting. The hotel hosted a lot of events during our stay, including weddings, Claremont Colleges alumni weekend and the tennis tournament we were there for. Part of the five stars is that the room next to us seemed to be a group that was part of a wedding that wanted to keep the party going in their room. I felt bad calling security on a Saturday night as I am married and know how cool those events are, but my mom and I needed our sleep to perform at a high level at the tennis tournament the next morning. I am happy to say that security came in 5 minutes and magically the noise was gone and we got our sleep. Well done Double Tree Claremont. read more

I lived in the area half my life and didn't know that this gem of a hotel was in the area. Stayed here one night on our way to Santa Barbara. It's a very large place, but you would not know it from the street. I had an incredible room with the view of the pool and because I am a Hilton diamond member they gave me $36 credit to spend at the attached Orchard Restaurant. Woot Woot! The people that are running this place have done a great job training the employees on how to treat people. When I checked in, I had the feeling of being at a much more expensive hotel. The smiles when approaching the desk to check-in was so appreciated. The chocolate chip cookies are always a great icebreaker for stressed out travelers. I on the other hand was not stressed out at all. I was pleasantly pleased to have such a positive experience during the entire weekend. I was especially grateful to receive help with a printing issue in the business center. Charlene - Manager of Housekeeping - The room was really nice, clean and the bed was comfy! The venue is beautiful but unfortunately, the restaurant/lounge available is open for a few hours at 5pm and during our stay there seemed to be a mosquito problem. Both my husband and I were bitten by these pests during our 3 night stay, which was extremely unpleasant before our wedding . This hotel entrance is beautiful and I came here with my family to attend the dining detective for a birthday celebration. The lobby agent was wonderful to guide us to go the conference/meeting area. The architecture, grounds, and amenities (bathrobes, cookies, etc.) are pleasing, and our room, on the 3rd floor, was perfectly quiet. The breakfast buffet was better than average. But a couple of drawers wouldn't close and veneer was falling off the dresser. The a/c was like an arctic blast, directed straight at my pillow. My advice: ask for a room facing north, toward the mountains, or in any case not facing west. Even in February, the afternoon sun made the room too hot, requiring the antiquated a/c to be running too much. read more

I called to inquire about rates for my wedding day, and the person on the phone just kept trying to up-sale me on everything. She kept talking ad nauseam about things I don't care about and didn't ask about instead of trying to listen to my wants and needs. After maybe 10 minutes of this, we long realized that we're not going to get anywhere, so we tried to end the call and the representative tried to pressure us into committing. When that didn't work, she transferred us to someone else who asked a lot of really invasive questions that are frankly none of their business. This lady asked us questions such as marital status, income bracket, and where we live, and then went on and on about the different locations where they have hotels, going on for literal minutes just listing dozens of cities, all while we were politely trying to get off the phone. I wasn't remotely interested in visiting any of these places and literally only called to ask about availability, but the person just kept going on and on about things to do in Los Vegas, so we ended up just having to hanging up on them. I had gone from fairly certain we would book a room here before the call to fervently avoiding this franchise. The sleazy used car sales tactics were NOT appreciated. read more

Worst customer service experience. We checked in to a room that had an extreme chemical smell. We are here for a wedding so left the room to join events hoping the fan would help get rid of it until we come back. Couple hours later we got back to the room and smell is as strong as it was before we left. Called front desk to hear our options but the person who answered the phone kept repeating the one option that did not work for us. We told her we saw an available king room on the Hilton app which we would like to move to and she responded "it's a dirty room". I build, manage, and teach information systems and I am not sure why the Hilton app would show wrong information. If the person had a friendly and apologetic tone (never said sorry for the experience or offered another possible solution) I would have believed her but I trust the app. read more

Once was a beautiful hotel in a charming city. It's fairly clean and kept up. Although the clientele has become a bit ghetto. Almost third world vibes with guests at the pool. Extremely loud music, yelling, taking over large chunks of the recliners along with not policing their children or trash. It's really a-shame to see. This past weekend we hosted our daughters wedding locally and chose this hotel to house our guests. We had about 30 guest rooms in total. It was an incredible experience from start to finish! The hotel is clean, comfortable and very welcoming! As an added bonus, they offer a shuttle downtown which we were also able to arrange to transport our guests to the wedding venue. Since we had guests in town for a few days, we enjoyed so many of the hotel's amenities such as the pool, gym, and restaurant! The breakfast buffet was phenomenal! We held a welcome reception in the hotel courtyard the night before the wedding, and it was so beautiful and the food was delicious!! The catering department is awesome!! This was the perfect place for such a memorable occasion for our family. Thank you to all of the hotel staff for giving our guests such extraordinary service! Great Place for your Claremont Event We hold eight business meetings in Claremont every year and we always utilize the facilities at the DoubleTree Claremont. I work with John Gutzwiller on the meeting rooms and meals. He always does a fantastic job in planning and executing the plan. Every single event has worked out perfectly and the longer we work together, the better things get. I work with Shirlene Nowling on the hotel room reservations for our overnight guests. She always gets everything done perfectly with a great attitude. The entire hotel staff is professional, joyful, and desirous of giving you the best possible hotel experience. They love to hand you your free and delicious DoubleTree cookies. The restaurant food is excellent. I particularly like the steak and salmon entrees for dinner. The breakfast buffet, which includes an omelette bar, is terrific. They prepare very delicious salads and sandwiches for lunch. The hotel is immaculately maintained. You always see people cleaning and improving the hotel's appearance. You will feel so welcomed when you approach the front desk. Every staff member seems excited that you have come to stay with them. The meeting room is always set up as desired and everything runs on time. In general, if you ask for something, it will get done if at all possible. I love coming back to the Claremont DoubleTree!!! First time doing an unsatisfactory review. Checked in 8/7/23 around 6pm. Checked out before 5 am. 8/8/23. I left two unopened cocktails in the refrigerator. I called and spoke to Maria (desk clerk) before 6 am. and told her what I left. She assured me that she would let housekeeping know. I told her I would pick up the items when I got off of work. I arrived around 4 pm to the front desk. They got in touch with the person who cleaned my room 3312. She said she didn't clean the room until around 8:15 a.m., and the only thing left in there was trash. I left a Panerai bag with trash in it. She said no one had access to the room, but her and she didn't see any drinks in the refrigerator. My drinks were stolen and I'm not happy about it. I guess Casper has them. read more

I've stayed at many Doubletree hotels all over the world. I think the best one was in Amsterdam. Super sweet staff. Amazing people very helpful. We're upfront about costs and prices. There was no hidden agenda. Here at the Claremont Doubletree I have not found the same type of support or clarity. The breakfast staff was rude , I called the front desk in the morning, and they let me know of a continental breakfast in their hotel lobby. I went to the front desk to confirm that there is a continental breakfast provided by the hotel. The lady at the front desk was super rude and letting me know after serving of the food that they were going to charge me $35 for an omelette kind of outrageous. I would've gone down the street and had a nice breakfast . That I would've been feeling comfortable to pay instead of just having eggs from a carton and forced gratuity for one person. I travel all the time for work and let me say I'm considering never booking with this establishment again . The rooms are nice. This place perplexed me a bit. I am a cigarette smoker and I leave the areas I smoke in cleaner than they were when I go to them. Moving on... This place has many ashtrays with and without benches next to them in the outside interior areas and the outside exterior areas. None of them say no smoking next to them. If I see an ashtray naturally I assume I can smoke near it. Apparently not here. They have one area with a bench and two ashtrays near the bathrooms in the courtyard labeled as designated smoking area. I spent most of my smoking time sitting at it. A few times I smoked at one of the benches that had an ashtray next to it. Nobody said anything until some donkey of a hotel worker said something to me and told me I had to smoke at the designated area. Ok, so why doesn't it say no smoking by the other ashtrays and why are there so many ashtrays outside if you can't smoke by them? Pretty odd... Also, I had a room with a patio, the patio next door had a sign stating no smoking. That's fine. But none of the balconies on the property had such a sign. So does that mean if I had a room with a balcony I could smoke on it? I am confused. Anyways, the hotel isn't horrible, but the things I stated above should be stated more clearly by the hotel. Also, I would never pay above $120-$130 after taxes and fees to stay at this place. It isn't worth more than that and oftentimes you will see their rates $200-$300. Don't ever pay that for this place even with the free parking included. read more

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. We came down for a series of soccer games and the location couldn't be better. It has large restaurants to accommodate our big group right next door, a beautiful courtyard that we could gather, and the staff from front desk to bar was top notch. We will absolutely stay here again when we come down for another series of games in the summer time. read more
