My son purchased a vehicle and also purchased the extended warranty with the guarantee of a 200.00 deductible should anything happen to the car. 7 months later the motor had catastrophic failure. The warranty company denied his claim stating Doug Justus should have never sold him the warranty and voided the warranty. We called Doug Justus and at first they seemed like they would make it right, even going as far as having our mechanic quote them a price for a used engine. After 2 weeks they basically told us they would do nothing. It has been over 2 months with a car he cannot even drive. Very shady company. They do not care about their customers or stand behind their vehicles. Do not buy from here. The bad reviews are telling the truth. He paid Doug Justus 22,000 for the car and extended warranty and now will have to pay 7,500 more to have a car he can actually drive. read more

Great way to buy a car. Walk around and when you see a car you like, the carfax on in the seat. No pressure sales--just wonderful deals! Totally would recommend. read more

I want to leave a decent review, but I cannot- I bought the car May 2022 ( VW Jetta) it looked good had a few small issues ( cruise didn't work, power mirrors didn't work, and the horn didn't work and they refused to fix them) The ignition went out three weeks after I bought the car, and the $2000.00 extended warranty I bought was a nightmare to use and the dealership did nothing to assist with any of the problems. so now here we are January 02, 2023 and the engine stops working no warning given ( mechanic says catastrophic failure in 3 out of 5 cylinders ) I haven't put more than 15 k miles on it and had regular oil changes, no reason it should have died. once again the horrible warranty company is giving me a hard time again. the dealership won't help an all. not satisfied will never do business with Doug Justus ever again. read more

Yeah don't do it. We're not here to slander anybody for no reason. All these victims have my sympathy as I was also left out in the cold with my warranty and told that I was sold as is and I am less than 60 days off the lot, so I also strongly suggest you keep looking for your next gem of a used car elsewhere, because the odds of it being here are as this review thread clearly states is not good. read more

This dealer does not stand behind their "30" day warranty . Less than 1 week after purchase vehicle dash lit up like Christmas Tree and engine having issues. They offered to call the extended warranty company for me condescension at its finest! Would not recommend unless you want a payment for a lawn ornament!! Left calls for GM but he had his "sales" person call instead! They are the absolute text book definition of a Slimy Used Car Dealer!! Plenty of other dealers in ALCOA don't stop at Doug Jutus ! You will still not have a vehicle to drive but you will have a payment for one! NO INTEGRITY AND SHAMEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! read more

I most definitely would not recommend this company to anyone. I bought a vehicle from them and when I got under it to do an oil change I was stunned by how rusted out the vehicle was underneath. Oh they made the topside look nice and clean but under the vehicle was a different story. I guess the vehicle came from up north where they have ice and snow and all the salt has just eaten up the underside. The suspension on this vehicle is shot all to hell. I'm having to replace the Sway Bars, Stabilizer Bar, Control Arms, Tie Rod End, and Shocks. I tried to call back and talk to the Sales Manager but of course he wasn't available and did not return my call. Oh and by the way when I change the oil, it looked black as tar. I bought their little extended warranty and when I got to looking a little closer at it, it doesn't say anything about powertrain coverage. It just mainly has minor repairs that wouldn't cost them alot of money. I'm just sick of people like this! I should be against the law to sell shit like this to the public! I guess I should have paid attention to all the bad reviews. read more

PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! Newly married and needed a reliable car. I didn't have much money and didn't want a car payment. Went to Doug Justus because i saw a decent forester on their web site. When we arrived I had Zero help from any "salesman". Tried to negotiate and the "salesman" was firm. He told me him and his wife had been driving this car since it arrived at the dealership. Told me he loved the car and was a great buy. Welp, three months and 2300 miles (driven) later the car stalled...motor was shot. Long story short: We basically spent $7800.00 for a chassis. Ended up selling the bucket for about $2500.00 to try and go towards another car. Great Scam you guys got going (thumbs up) read more

Called twice to check availability of a car. Both times told yes it was available and to come over for a test drive. Both times I got there and then told it was not on the lot - the owner had taken it home earlier in the week and it was not available. Thanks for your dishonesty and wasting your customers time. read more

Nothing but problems with the vehicle we bought. It feels like they spray painted over the rust because within a few weeks the whole underside and engine was a massive mess of rust. read more

I had seen a BMW SUV on the lot last week, contacted Doug Justus via email, waited three days for a response. I contacted my credit union for financing and was approved which I let Doug Justus know. After waiting another two days, i requested information today and was told "they were busy the last couple days. Thanks for the interest". So obviously, Doug Justus doesn't want to sell vehicles very much, or they sell so many, they don't care about new customers. I will never even attempt to do business with them again. read more

I had a very enjoyable experience buying a 2010 Subaru here. Car Fax print out was in the glove box. I had plenty of time to look over the car and come to a decision. Paul was no pressure, knowledgeable, and helpful - a pleasure to deal with. I liked the fair pricing and satisfying mid range Kelly trade in for my old vehicle. I definitely will return in similar circumstances. read more

I really liked my experience at Doug Justus Auto. It is a totally different car-buying experience -- you can walk around and get in cars on your own time and see how they feel and how they look. After that, you can go in and ask to test drive it, but you are never pressured or hounded by salesmen and you can make up your own mind about it. I was helped by Hunter who was exceptionally kind, patient, knowledgeable, and courteous. All of the staff were helpful and treated me like a valued customer before I had even decided to purchase a car. They worked with me as an individual to find the right car and financing options for me. They know all of their cars inside and out and fully service them before they are ever put on the lot. I highly recommend Doug Justus Auto and will return the next time I'm in the market for a car. read more

the sales staff here are truly great. i went in to look at a car and the staff didn't even care to let me look at a car, i had to ASK THEM to buy it. And i love that. every other dealer i go into they're so pushy and want me to get into something that i might not like. here? no. this is why Doug Justus is so great. I love it here and will definitely tell others to get a car here if needed. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!! I bought a car from this place a couple months ago, a good looking car, and drove for not even two weeks. The transmission went out. I still had the 30 day warranty on it, so they took the car back so they can fix it for free. They had the car for more than three weeks and during that whole time they were not updating me about what was going on with my car and all they would tell me was that my car would be done soon. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GOTTA BE ONE OF THE WORST ONES I HAVE EVER SEEN. I literally went to the shop where my car was just to find out that they hadn't even touched the car, in more than 2 weeks so that made me very mad. I then called them to ask for either another car or just give me my money back because I did not have a car for THREE WEEKS. dude on the phone told me to go in and see if I could find anything I liked on the lot if not they would cut me a refund check. When I went there the next day on Saturday , they could not cut me that check because the bookkeeper was not there, so dude told me to come back on Monday and that their general manager would have it approved by then and I will be able to get my check back. I go there that Monday and that gm swears that they never said that they would give my money back and I will not get my money back. I called one of my friends with more car buying experience and he came there, literally they decided to change their minds in not even 5 minutes. I got most of the money then and I just received the last of it last week after more than a month. I felt like they were trying to take advantage of a young black man with no car buying experience, but I am very glad that I got my money back and hope that I will never have to deal with these people ever again. read more

Bought a 2009 Subaru from this dealership 5 days ago. A headlight is out, the air conditioning is totally fucked, the remote controls for unlocking are dead. I've literally brought it to a garage twice in 5 days. This place doesn't even pretend to once over a vehicle before it's sold. Too late for us but it isn't for you, take your business elsewhere read more

Bought this vehicle 2 days ago. Had it inspected AFTER the purchase. The brakes were shot. The fog lights don't work and one is full of water. The oil was supposed to be changed in Oct.'18. Tail light on driver's side stays lit even after the lights are off and engine is off. Had the oil changed today now leaking all over the driveway. When they get a vehicle in All they do is detail it and put it on the lot. Go somewhere else to buy a used vehicle. You'll be glad you did. Mike Walls was no help. read more

I have had great service here from every employee here every single time! free 30 day warranty on all the basic stuff which is awesome I got a hybrid and they fixed the battery right up for me! Went there to look for a car. Had cash in hand, the first two cars didn't even start. The third one they had the audacity to put us in, smelled like a sewer and burnt hair. Nobody was friendly. The car was slipping and missing the entire predetermined test drive route. As we were driving back we saw the same model car we were driving being towed out of there. We took that as a sign. I briefly went to Doug Justus Auto Center on Saturday and browsed through the parking lot.and located a vehicle I was very interested in on the showroom floor. I briefly asked the gentleman working the reception desk about the vehicle and received a short, snide comment when I asked if the price was negotiable. Today, I went back to take a closer look at the 4Runner and to test drive it. I was approached in the show room by a salesman, who didn't identify himself dressed in a ball cap, polo shirt and shorts. I asked about the vehicle and if I could test drive it. He advised I could after it was determined I was "qualified" and they are able to get it out of the showroom. The salesman came back a few minutes later and said there is only one door it can go out of and it is currently blocked by another vehicle on the outside. He explained as soon as this vehicle was moved they would be able to pull the 4Runner out for a test drive. I continued walking around the vehicle and looking inside for several more minutes. I grew tired of lingering around and sat on a couch they have in the showroom, directly in front of the 4Runner. The salesman that helped began helping a couple that came in and helped some folks that came up to the reception desk. Another salesman seemed to be running around as if the building was on fire but didn't seem to be accomplishing much and another salesman sat in his office on his phone and literally picked his nose (you have a glass wall, sir.) No other employee offered to help me, asked what I was waiting on, or even acknowledged the fact I was sitting there. The salesman that helped me seemed to be caught up and walked out the door that was needed to take the 4Runner off the showroom floor. I walked to that door and saw a different vehicle was not parked in the spot needing to be vacant to get the 4Runner out. The salesman then began joking and laughing with other staff. No one has still acknowledged me. At this point, I had been waiting for an hour. I drop the keys in the driver seat and walk out. As I was walking out the salesman said "thanks for coming in" . To which I responded "thanks for helping me." He responded "I don't feel like I did much." You didn't. You did nothing. I explained I had been waiting an hour for him to remove the vehicle from the showroom and he said "I didn't think you wanted to test drive it". What made you think that? The fact I was sitting six feet away from it with the keys you gave me in my hand? What else would I have possibly been waiting on. You and every other employee clearly saw me sitting there. It's not like I was hiding covertly. I was literally the only person sitting in the showroom. He apologized as he must have got side tracked. Did you get side tracked or not think I was interested in test driving it anymore and thought I was just going to hang out for an hour? Perhaps I don't fit the typical mold of the clientele serviced by Doug Jutus. I was prepared to pay cash for the 4Runner. I'm not interested in your in-house financing, I simply was very interested in a vehicle you had for sale. Shameful service. read more

This ONE star is for one individual. Paul. He was the only honest and caring individual at this establishment. The buying experience wasn't bad, typical when buying a car. The after story is where the BUll Sh!t comes in. Bought our car with warranty, which I might add comes in handy when buying used. We had 15 miles left on our warranty and the engine started acting up. Doug had no problem resolving the issue, he told me he was going to hand it over to his GM. That's when the problem started. The GM refused to back up what Doug offered and refused to help after trying to communicate. After several phone calls and being hung up on, terrible attitude and lied to, we had to handle it on our own. I wouldnt recommend this place or will I ever go back. The pros about this place are weighted out by the cons by millions. I wish I had never stepped foot in the door. read more

bought a Honda CRV from this junkyard last year. During my recent inspection, I was told that the 4 wheel drive differential had been removed and so the vehicle is now only 2 wheel drive instead of 4 wheel drive. I bought the vehicle specifically for the 4 wheel drive. There is no way the dealership didn't know that. In addition, there was a rats nest in the engine so these people aren't even checking these vehicles out and the air conditioner didn't work. It was cold when we bought it so we couldn't tell then that it didn't work. Every car we drove, except for this one, had the check engine lights on. read more

DO NOT GO!!!!! if i could give a -5 star i would! car was fine, then 2 days after check engine light came out and white smoke coming out of the exhaust so badly it covered the whole car! took it to 2 mechanics and both said it will cost 10k in repairs, i paid 8k for the whole car! took it back and they took all day "fixing" it (cleared the code and doctered it up) then had the nerve to say the code just "went away". each time you drove the car the engine is so hot and smoking you have to pull over and fill the coolant back up and let it cool down. im pretty sure they pulled the check engine light bulb out so it appears the car is fine. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THESE CROOKED SCAM ARTISTS! YOU WONT GET YOUR MONEY BACK! THEY OFFER A WARRANTY IF YOU PAY FULL PRICE BUT WILL EASILY CAVE ON PRICE SO THE WARRANTY WILL BE VOID! staff is super friendly when you are BUYING the car but the second you ask for your money back they turn into spawns of satan being very hostile and rude. the last guy i dealt with pretty much threw the keys back at me and told me to F off walking away while i was talking to him. July 8th 2018 update! Been sitting in driveway for over a month went to move car to park MY NEW CAR and the car wont even move! put it in neutral and rolled it back and pretty much every drop of liquid that was in the car is now in my driveway! THANKS DOUG JUSTUS! I OWE 8k ON A CAR I CANT SAFELY DRIVE AND WILL COST 10k MORE TO REPAIR! FOR 18k I COULD HAVE BOUGHT A ONE YEAR OLD CAR!!! Won't come off of listed price because they claim it is a cash price because they are a "cash lot". When I showed them that their price was $2,000 OVER what KBB said was fair value, they said they go by NADA because that's what the banks use. So they're not a cash lot. Tried to trade my vehicle and was offered BELOW HALF of NADA trade-in value. They expect YOU to pay NADA, but they won't pay NADA for yours. I heard the salesperson talking with the person who test drove my trade about my vehicle. When I asked the salesperson what they said about the vehicle, he said "nothing really". I then went and talked to the person and they had told the salesperson all about their impressions on the vehicle and what they were going to offer. He said they were offering so low because my model of vehicle has a history of transmission failure. My vehicle had 112,000 miles and a perfectly working transmission so I was taking a hit for something that hasn't happend to my vehicle? Dishonest salespeople, dishonest sales manager.
