We wandered in here a little after 11AM on Mother's Day. We were waiting for dim sum after the restaurant *lost* our reservation. Just a little snack to hold us over :) Walking in, they have your basic selection of donuts and a bunch of glazed donut holes. Not sure if they just sold out of their other donuts, but I didn't see any jelly filled ones, cruller donuts, etc. I got my usual chocolate covered old fashion donut and my bf got a chocolate cake donut covered in sprinkles. His donut was pretty sweet and not as dense as I'm used to for a cake donut. My old fashion was solid. The glaze was soft, but not sliding off and there was a nice crispness to the outside. I still prefer Rolling Pin, but these were pretty good for just wandering in there on a whim. Coffee is pretty typical for a donut spot. They don't keep their hazelnut coffee hot like the other ones on the burners though, so by the time we got there, it was lukewarm. read more

Your run-of-the-mill, mom-and-pop donut shop. Their regular glazed donuts taste the best. The chocolate filled with custard had a ton of custard. The glazed old fashioned had a hint of lemon so that was a bit different. You'll find people buying boxes of donuts for events so go early since some kinds sell out. read more

If you can get to their shop right when it opens like 5 or 6 am you'll have the best tasting donuts you've ever eaten. I hate buttermilk donuts but if you get one right when they are made you'll be in loving it. They are so creamy, that your mouth will just water. I've been going to Doughboys since 1991 and it's a great place. A nice hot chocolate and bear claw, or chocolate bar filled with custard is my favorite. For a midday snack I'll get a Hawaiian crepe. They're so good. It would be nice if they take credit cards but I guess i'm used to just scrounging up a few bucks before I go there. I can't imagine swiping my CC for a $.035 transaction ...lol. read more

We came here for a late lunch today and the only reason I can't give them 5 stars is because of the wait to get out crepes. I took my daughters and one of their friends and we each ordered a crepe. The brought them out one at a time in like 5 minutes increments. I appreciate that they served them right off the crepe pan, but at the same time, my daughter had finished hers five minutes before mine even arrived. I'm strict with my kids about manners and so their first thought was that they would wait until we were all served as not to be rude. I broke the rule today for obvious reasons, but it was a bit uncomfortable since I teach my children differently. Enough about manners though..... I think they need to get a second crepe maker or put on on the pan right after another and not assemble a whole crepe before pouring the batter for another. The people were nice, but unfortunately when we arrived and most of the time our crepes were being made there was only one person which didn't help. I'd hesitate to go again since we would only go for the crepes and I like to eat with my children, not watch each other eat because they can't do more than one at a time. NOTE: my BLT crepe tasted really good so might be somewhere I'd go if I am alone. read more

I always come by on my work from home days for a crepe and a super fresh custard donut that's piped to order! The owners are so cute and generous with the free extra donut for each dozen ordered. Went in yesterday wanting a donut... well it was almost noon so I knew there wouldn't be much variety left. There was only one tray of cinnamon rolls and apple fritters left. This is a mom and pops place..typical look for a donut joint. Awhile back I noticed that their window said they served crepes.. so I've been planning on trying it out. Today was our chance..... we ordered a strawberry/banana/nutella. The lady was realllly nice.. but unfortunately the crepe was not as good as i wanted. The actual crepe tasted of flour.. the strawberries and bananas were not yet ripe. If the crepe was not so "floury" tasting.. it would have been mediocre at best. They do have Vietnamese sandwiches that looked tasty.. so will definitely try that next time... And I hear their donuts are reallllly good, so maybe an Apple fitter too. =) read more

I know it sounds weird, go to a donut shop for crepes?. But you gotta do it. They have the best tasting crepes I have ever had. When you walk in, you are greeted by a a sweet little lady, who is the owner of the joint. She makes everything home made. I had the grilled chicken crepe which was filled with fresh grilled chicken and fresh spring mix , tomatoes onions and a secret sauce that is to die for. I did not think I would get filled up by a this delicate looking meal, but I was wrong. It was very fulfilling and just right. So light and fresh. I have also had their strawberry and kiwi dessert crepe which was also very fresh and light. If you like crepes you need to go here. Tip: If you are in a hurry, call in your order she will have it ready by the time you get there. Though it only takes about 5 minutes after you order. The donuts are also very very good! They do not taste greasy and heavy like most donuts. I was told by the owner that the Donuts are fried in Soybean oil so there are no transfat! It is as healthy as a Donut can get. read more

What a fantastic little donut gem! Coming from the Midwest, donuts are a staple and thank goodness I came across Doughboys!!! These donuts are fresh and tasty! The only gripe I have is that the variety is a bit limited to what I'm used to. Don't get me wrong, the smallish varieties they've had are spot on!!! From the basic glazed (always the measure of a good donut place) to the fancier apple fritters and custard filled, these are great. Bonus points for having super tasty ham & cheese croissants as well (but you really need to get there earlier to score these!). I went out to experience this "delicious" apple fritter and to try a donut. I rolled in early in the morning (best time for donut time) and got one of each. I walked in, got an apple fritter, an old fashion, and milk. I ate the apple fritter and it tasted average, but had a strong taste of sugar (and a stronger aftertaste), then I had the very forgettable donut. These donuts were nothing to write anything about (I went here months ago, but forgot to write a review about it). To make it worse, this donut get me a sugar crash. read more

I discovered this place not too long ago and I've already fallen in love with it. I come here at least once a week. The donuts are pretty good and the dessert crepes are simple and delicious. Pat is extremely friendly. The only accept cash which is the down side but there is a Bank of America and Wells Fargo right down the street towards Dublin Blvd. Every now and then you'll see one of those humongous donuts that you see in one of those pictures up there but there are usually only a couple and you have to go early in the morning if you really want to try one. This is a family owned shop and Pat is usually by herself or with another employee. She does take her time but it doesn't take more than 5 minutes to make the crepes. read more

I wonder where the Yelpers that are giving Dough Boy's Donuts a bad review are getting their donuts. By far, the BEST donuts I've had, and I've tried almost every donut shop in the Tri-Valley. Even though there are other donut shops closer to my home, I don't mind going the extra distance to Dough Boy's because it is always worth it. I also love the apple strudel, but I haven't seen it in awhile so not sure if they still make it (unless it's so good that they always sell out by the time I get there). Haven't tried the crepes, but it sounds like they might be worth a try as well. read more

A doughnuts a diughnut as long as it's fresh. The customer service on the other hand was horrible! I walk to this shop because it's close., the workers are ALWAYS sitting around doing nothing when i walk in. Today my card was "accidentally " charges $62.55! And I was not even told!! When I received an email alert about my account balance falling negative I immediately checked and saw the charge. I called the shop and asked why I was not notified and was told "It was not necessary." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! How is it NOT my right to know when you overcharge MY bank account. She then proceeded to tell me it was voided the transaction and it's not a big deal. Um that's a significant amount money I'm out of until 2-5 days it takes to reverse the charge. I think if you're going to work somewhere that allows you to sit on your a$$ if nones in line, the LEAST you can do is do your job correctly when you do have customers. Needless to say I will not be going back. read more

We got two dozen mixed for $11.50/doz to take back to hotel for team, plus coffee for adults. 3 didn't make the 5 minute trip and am heading back today to replenish. Seems to me to be a similar environment as other California donut shops, which we don't have in Florida. Very friendly staff, good hours and easy parking. read more

Apple fritter was the best I have ever had! It was crispy but at the same time melts in your mouth. And they are huge! I tried their banana strawberry crepe today and it was also huge! I have actually never had a donut from here, but I love the crepe sandwiches. My favorite is the turkey one. The lady has some kind of homemade mayonnaise dressing that she puts on that I love. A good amount of fresh veggies too. A winner in my book. read more

No frills donut shop. Went in at around 5:45 this morning after dropping off my brother at the airport. Decided to stop in to grab some donuts for the family before heading home. They were super fresh! Out of the fryer maybe an hour before and the glaze and frostings were still fresh. The chocolate bar was my favorite! The frosting is like a cross between frosting and chocolate pudding. So good! Hopefully the quality is still there in later mornings too. read more

Overall I thought they had pretty tasty doughnuts. The maple on my maple bar was good however, it had such a thick layer I had to scrape some off or I was getting a mouth full of maple glaze. The glaze twist was probably the best I have ever had. Something about the dough made it have a sweet vanilla taste. My husbands chocolate glaze was actually having such a weird flavor he only had a few bites. Maybe it was an off day for the chocolate? I would definitely try them again if not for anything but the twist. read more

One of the worst donut place I've ever been to. Me and my sister arrive after 12 and thought maybe they won't have as much variety of donuts anymore. We were glad to see through the door that there was still a lot and got excited. Once we got in we notice that the donuts didn't look very appealing. My sister order a custard donut cover with chocolate and i order the maple cruller. The cruller taste over fried and not donut texture at all and my sister only like the flavor of the custard filling. That cost $3! Kind of pricey for donuts that don't taste good.
