This place is amazing! The place is small, but mighty. I came around 10am on a weekday, and only one person was before me. Tables are closed, so everyone just comes in and out after getting their orders. The staff were so friendly and sweet. I was greeted and helped immediately. I came here for a quick breakfast bite and some donut snacks for later! Sadly, they were all out of donut holes for the day (must be popular!!). I got an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, which was really filling. If you're wanting a crunchy sandwich, I wouldn't get these- they're soft, BUT good! I got a half dozen of the donuts with these being the flavors: chocolate, blueberry, glazed, and maple. None of them were disappointing! The donuts were fluffy, soft, and really really good! (didn't know that. am sure natives do). shop had plenty of donuts and generic coffee in plain view. since donuts are a N-0 for me. just had one. eats: sugar french crueller(1.5) -tasted the outer sweetness immediately. sugar addicts will get a rush. -donut may have melted in my mouth but i didn't notice it. maybe i can't eat and walk at same time..or maybe my brain is watching where i'm going, blocking out signals of what i'm eating. -donut definitely fresh. 3.5 stars crumbs -it's not my fault donut didn't buzz me. This has been my family's "go to" donut spot for a little over a decade. The owners and their daughters are incredibly kind and we've all gotten to know each other over the years. What's even cooler is now my used-to-be toddler daughter is walking here with her friends for their morning breakfast run before they head out to school. Came for first time on recommendation from my next door app heard they needed help in sales during covid, I've lived near this place for 8 years and never tried them before. I've always liked apple fritters in the past so I ordered one of those and then the raisin roll and a vanilla cappuccino. First off I come in door and I get a good morning greeting which hardly anyone does anymore so that was nice.. kudos to owners for keeping atmosphere friendly ! Back to the food now. Apple fritters were crispy on the edges which I like and soft in center and not overpowered with sugar you can taste the apples , but I ate the second donut with my afternoon coffee and it was still soft and fresh tasting , that ended up being my favorite now. I also have to add that my coffee was really nice and hot which is the perfect thing for me I usually ask for super hot at other coffee shops , I didn't have to ask that here. read more

Hey, hey, it's Donut Friday, donut-cha know? It was for me, anyway. And my first time craving the doughy-sweet confection since I've relocated residence to the lovely little town o' Pleasanton. Which makes me a Pleasanton-ian. Or something like that. Heard about this spot from friends and decided to check them out after Yelp re-affirming this spot is a definite go-to and am mighty glad I did. The Gist: Popped into Heritage (which, mind you, does NOT say "Heritage" from the outside of the building", instead, reads "O Donut" - well, unless it was just plain old "Donut" with a pic of an actual donut to its immediate left - anywho - just after 8am & the place was bustling with business. I was happy to glance inside the glass cabinet of goods to see there was still quite a selection of donut varieties remaining. My personal fave being the French Cruller (fun fact - cruller actually means "twist) was abundant which was a pleasant surprise because I have found multiple times I go to donut shops, that they either 1. aren't even made there or 2. ran out of them entirely. They had a good assortment of those in regular glazed, chocolate & maple as well as an array of other typical donut house types to choose from. I observed one of the bakers bring in a fresh batch donut holes which quickly had orders placed for them as soon as he brought them out. On the menu, they also had breakfast sandwiches prepared on either croissant or bagels as well as beverage varieties to pair with your doughy-goodness. Service: Fast & VERY friendly! The energetic and very friendly gentleman behind the counter hustled and bustled his way through everyone's orders & I observed him greeting all the "regulars" by first-name basis, which is always great to see. Matter of fact, virtually everyone he knew by name - yet another tell-tale sign of a nice rapport established between his patrons. Even offered a little playful banter with a customer who must come in daily as he jokingly gave the owner a hard time because he had run out of his favorite donut type. They gave all of us who were patiently waiting in line a quick morning chuckle over it. Great way to start the day! The Goods: My crullers were absolutely melt-in-your-mouth amaaaazing! I savored each perfectly flavored bite which was so delicately created offering not too much sweetness and the delectable soft dough made my mouth scream for more. I unabashedly scarfed down two on my commute to work and surprised the boss lady with a chocolate one as well which she kept raving literally all day each time she saw me "Jeanie - that donut - ohhh myyy Gawwwwd!" That tells ya something. I'll be back - maybe even will treat the whole Management Team to a dozen. That is, IF I don't just wolf those bad boys all down for myself! No judgement, dammit! Heritage Donut Shop is a family owned business that has been serving great food for years, but has recently moved from the original, partially hidden location, to a nicer corner location across the parking lot (still in the same parking lot on Sunol near Raley's) with bathrooms & free Wifi. They are friendly and gave great service. My mom said her coffee was really good. I don't drink coffee but I will take her word for it. I would recommend this place. I seem to have dumb luck with picking great donut places in every city I live. Heritage Donut is one of my new favorites in Pleasanton! I really enjoy their blueberry glazed and crumb cake donuts! The staff is very kind and personable. The last couple of times the guy working the front saw my name on my credit card and thanked me by my first name. A microwave was used to heat up the sandwhich... I wonder what it would have been like out of a toaster oven. Everything is better out of a toaster oven. Donut was a bit like a Krispy Kreme type donut - not super substantial. Hard to describe but not like heavy duty ones from Safeway... more like the ones from Luckys. You know when you bite into a deliciously soft Donut...the yummy pillowy sweetness floods your palate but, then it leaves a oil slick in it's wake. Oil residue on the roof of your mouth is not cool! Well, I am happy to report that that icky phenomenon doesn't happen here! I am not a frequent visitor but, I have eaten about 6 donuts in one day (personal record).. In that sitting I enjoyed 2 coconut, glazed, cake strawberry icing, and 2 old fashioned donuts. They were all so soft, yummy and did not rely on the glaze. This small donut shop is exactly why I love small businesses. All of the people who have helped me at the counter have been SO incredibly kind and friendly. Their donuts are cheap and delicious and their croissant ham and cheese is a very good on the go breakfast item. I would definitely recommend trying this place out if you love donuts as much as I do. One tip would be to go early if you can because in their last hour or two of operation they typically sell out a lot of donuts (because they're just that good), but if not, there is still usually a pretty good variety to choose from.
