I've been wanting to try this place after seeing lines out the door in the past. One rainy morning presented an opportunity after drop off. My go-to is always an original glazed as it's not covered up with frills and distractions from truly tasting the dough. At first look, it wasn't overly opague aka covered in sugar glaze. It had just enough to sweet the top. It was a nice chew and sponginess that made me want to take another bite. Not too sweet. I only cut half as I wanted to try something sweeter, working my way up. I love a good raspberry jelly donut. Again, nice chew and not too sweet. Filling didn't have that artificially taste and spread evenly with each bite. I enjoyed it. DD loved the chocolate cake with cereal top. She didn't share bc it was that good to her. Hubs ate the chocolate glaze and maple bar by himself so I couldn't taste either. I guess the fam enjoyed it. Wish they had some French Cruellers as that's another favorite of mine. Before we had the sweets, we did share a croissant bacon egg cheese sandwich. Ngl, I was pleasantly surprised. I travel a lot and I'm always on the lookout for good donut/coffee spots. I stumbled upon this place as I was working in the area. The interior is nice and looks clean. I ordered a ham & cheese croissant and a small ice mocha. I feel the ham & cheese croissant was a bit flat and small, not meaty at all. The ice mocha was served with hot coffee making the bottom half of the drink warm. It was also way too sweet in my opinion. Delicious treats & Diligent staff. I strolled in randomly after delivering car parts nearby and am glad I took the chance. I had a maple bar which was fluffy and fresh at almost 1pm, Bacon Sausage & Egg sandwich on a croissant that was melt in your mouth good with a generous amount of crispy bacon, and a sweet Mango smoothie which was handmade with real milk and fruit upon ordering. Updated review after 2 years. I actually don't come to Best Donuts for their donuts. They are decent, but quality-wise and variety-wise, Dainty Donuts are more to my liking. However, Best Donuts has some of the best options for breakfast sandwiches before 6am. These protein-rich sandwiches are much healthier than donuts, and I find myself coming back again before heading off to work. Favorites: Ham and Egg Chorizo and Egg Bacon and Ham Definitely better than McDonalds and Burger King. I especially like the soft, toasty bread. The name won't fool you, this place has the best donuts in the Bay Area. I decided to give this place a try a few months ago as a treat, now I get it as a treat too often. They have a fantastic selection, the donuts stay fresh, and the service is great and quick. I LOVE apple fritters. Best Donuts is my "go to" to satisfy my craving. It might be a little nostalgic since I associate it with my childhood growing up on Maui. My dad loved apple fritters and it was a treat when he'd stop his Jeep at Nagata Store in Pa'ia on Hana Highway after our surf sessions at Ho'okipa. This donut shop is run by a mother and daughter duo. They are open early and close early. The donuts are always fresh and the coffee hot. True to it's name these are definitely some of the best donut shop donuts (first time my phone didn't eat first). Originally I came for a breakfast sandwich, but ended leaving with an apple fritter and custard filled donut holes too. The breakfast sandwiches were good! The croissants are so fresh and FLUFFY! Great for the price and an easy location, but not the best I've had either. My entire order was under $9. They have also have somewhat of a mini convenience store in the back with tons of soft drinks, coffee, smoothies, and even cup of noodles. I would come back for the donuts, but be sure to come early. Celebrating National Donut Day 5 days late but wanted to check out this place since Yelp just released top donut places in the East Bay and this was on there. And with a name like Best Donuts you have to! I usually go to Dainty Donuts just up the street but I'm always down to look for other great donut shops. I wasn't impressed with the display and variety here. Maybe I came too late at almost 11 am on a Saturday but there wasn't much to choose from. I wish I saw the Yelp ad that said get a free donut with a sandwich purchase cuz I ended up getting 2 b'fast sandwiches which were ok. I did get the last glazed twist and I ended up throwing it away because it kind of tasted like plastic or the quality was those processed donuts in boxes in grocery stores. I got my son a cinnamon roll and I guess he wasn't very impressed either cuz he threw some of it on the ground. I ate what was salvageable and I did like it actually. It was fluffy and soft the way I like my donuts. I was really looking forward to having an Apple fritter but they said they were sold out even though I saw one on the bottom shelf but maybe that was reserved for someone. Needless to say I will stick to Dainty Donuts from now on. But that's just my opinion but seems like enough people like them to have almost 5 stars. read more

Best Donuts is a local favorite with loyal customers! We stopped by here for breakfast on a Saturday morning while we got our car serviced across the street. We each ordered the bacon and egg breakfast sandwiches and wow they were tasty. The bacon was cooked and crisped to perfection. None of those limp, fatty strips other places serve. The eggs were nice and fluffy and the bread had just a hint of sweetness to tie everything together wonderfully. In addition to the delicious breakfast sandwiches, our favorite part about spending a morning here was seeing how beloved this shop is by regular customers. People would walk and and be greeted personally. Obviously most of them were regulars because the lady behind the counter would smile, ask about their kids and put together their usual orders without the customer having to ask. It's like Cheers for donuts-- where everybody knows your name! One guy walked in with his three-year-old son, who asked for a sprinkles donut. There weren't any left in the case, but the lady behind the counter kindly offered to make a custom donut for the boy. She asked him what kind of donut he liked and what color sprinkles. One of my new wishes in life is to be thrown into a swimming pool filled with their glazed old fashioned donuts and having to eat my way out. Their donuts are so soft and fluffy, and they're sweet but not sugar punching you in the face sweet. Even their maple donuts weren't overly sweet. I can usually only typically eat half a maple donut before my liver starts yelling at me about my sugar intake, but the maple donuts here are super easy to eat. Donut heaven! This place is tucked away in a tiny strip mall and it seems that the only people that know about their existence are the folks to live and work in the area. Their donuts are to die for...light and airy and listen, if you don't get there early enough, you'll run out of the good stuff. Too bad that they only have a couple of tables outside where you can sit and enjoy your food and coffee (thanks to Covid), but that's alright. They also serve sandwiches which are also very good, but personally I visit them for the sweets! One (not so recent) update is the addition of the lottery machine in their store. This little hidden gem is in a little strip mall anchored by # Brothers Chinese Restaurant, Cafe Attila and Round Table Pizza. Don't blink because you will miss it. And it is towards the rear of the mini-mall. It's a mom/pop, bare-bones operation. They offer donuts, sandwiches, hot dogs, coffe, tea and other drinks. There's not much in the way of ambiance but the staff are really nice and they smile a lot. That's always welcome and one of the original prime reasons for me to come here.
