This pizza place is EXTREMELY SLOW and their pizza is not even close to being good. A frozen pizza would've been better.

I did not need an 18 inch pizza so I ordered the Roman, 12" Calabrian, made with 75% hydration dough. When I picked it up, I noticed it did not smell as good as normal togo pizza . I drove the 25 min back to Edisto and opened the box when I got home. The first taste was awful, there was hardly any sauce and it was not well flavored, the pepperoni was hard and dried out, the sausage was really not on the pizza, and the cheese was hard and flavorless. The dough was tasteless and weird! This review is just for the Roman style pizza, the 18" new york may be totally different. I threw the pizza away and will not go back to Pizza Modo Mio. You can get great fresh pizza down the street at Pane e Vino in Hollywood!

The place was empty since it was around 2:30 but the girl behind the counter was patiently enough waiting on us while we looked around inside the restaurant. My kids love the board games they had here. I ordered Iced coffee, my daughter ordered garlic bread and cherry cheesecake pastry, my son ordered the Italian ice, mango flavor. We enjoyed what we ordered and opted to sit outside in their lovely outdoor seating. Very peaceful and they also had outdoor games to keep my son entertained. My daughter thought the hammock was pretty neat and she tested it out and enjoyed it. We are planning to go back and try out their pizza.

Hollywood finally has a more upscale spot !! an elevated, authentic Italian restaurant that feels…read moreright at home here! The foodies may remember Pan E Vino from its downtown Charleston days, but owner Alfredo has brought his culinary magic to Hollywood, blessing locals with genuine Italian charm and flavor. The restaurant is housed in a beautifully repurposed old firehouse and if you look up you'll still spot the original firehouse doors on the ceiling. The space is warm and rustic with an open kitchen, dim lighting, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. It's perfect for a romantic date night, a family dinner, or even a girls' night out. I made a reservation for our group of four as I always like to let a restaurant know I'm coming ! As of November 2025, reservations can be made easily through the restaurant's website or by phone (they're not on Resy or OpenTable ). I received confirmation by both text and email almost instantly, which made the process seamless. The staff here work incredibly hard. Our server was also handling hostess duties, but she was gracious, attentive, and made sure everything ran smoothly. For my meal, I went classic with the Spaghetti alla Bolognese which was rich, hearty, and full of flavor. I didn't leave a bite behind! I couldn't resist drizzling a little balsamic over it (because balsamic makes everything better), and it paired perfectly. I also sampled the Gnocchi alla Sorrentina, featuring soft, homemade potato dumplings baked with the same luscious Bolognese sauce and melted buffalo mozzarella. If you're torn between the spaghetti or gnocchi, you can't go wrong either way because the bolognese sauce is delicious so it just depends on your mood! To finish the night, Alfredo himself came by with a pour of his homemade limoncello , bright, smooth, and the perfect sweet ending. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Pro Tip: Tuesdays are pizza nights only (no full menu), and on weekends they offer both pizza and their full selection. It's worth calling ahead if you have your heart set on a particular dish. Pan E Vino is a little slice of Italy in the country and I am here for it ! Go check them out !

Also had spaghetti bolognese and it was only meat sauce for spaghetti. Very bland and no vegetables in it of any spices. It also was watery. When we visit Charleston, we sometimes get Fam's Pizza when we are in town. If we do not have it while we are visiting, we try to grab some to take home with us if it works out timing wise. Home is Charlotte, NC, so that means a three-hour drive of smelling the delicious pizza, but we do not have deep-dish pizza here, so it makes it worth it! I stopped by this weekend to pick up some pizza to bring back, hence the review update! I love that you can request any of their pizzas to be deep-dish pizza style (we get the deluxe), and it is reasonably priced! We also love their spinach bread, so we always have to get an order of that. Everything is so flavorful and consistently made each time, which is why we keep coming back. The West Ashley location is closest to my family, so it is the one we frequent most. However, we have also been to the one in Azalea Square (great location, unfortunately now closed), Cane Bay (not my best experience), and Hanahan (another great location). The deep dish usually takes longer than the quoted time at any of the locations, but it is usually not more than 10-15 minutes, sometimes it has been longer. So just be patient, it is worth the wait, but they might want to update their quote times to be a little better. Also note the locations have different vibes - relaxed chill out at the restaurant vs. more takeout feel which is what the West Ashley one is, even though there is seating inside. Highly recommend Famulari's if you have one near you! Excellent pizza!
