    Fast and attentive service! The restaurant was clean and well kept. I heard about their $5.99 xiao long bao special and decided it was a great time to try this place. I ordered the chicken, pork, and pork and crab soup dumplings, a spicy beef and green onion pancake roll, and Dan Dan noodles. Overall, I probably would not return to the restaurant. Nothing was bad but I wasn't obsessed with anything either. The pork xiao long bao was my favorite.

    Service 10 out of 5. Where do they find these employees from? We came in at 9 and kitchen closed at 9:30pm I think. We were welcomed in. Everyone was smiling. Manager, chef, dish washer, everyone. They taken care of us until we leave. Food is great. Good portion, fresh, well-seasoned, very appealing. Everything taste like what they supposed to be. Price is very reasonable. We ordered 8 items and a boba tea. Total was $72.30 with tax Since the location is on the second floor, you can have a street view through the large, fixed panel windows while you enjoy your food.

    Came in for a late weekend lunch and seating was plentiful. Beef Pancake Roll ($8.95) Sliced beef wrapped in a green onion pancake with shredded lettuce and a side of pickled veggies. Ate it all but wasn't impressed. Spicy Beef Shank ($7.95) Thin slices of beef in a numbing spice sauce. Delicious. Lots of flavor and a good quantity. Highly recommend. Pan Fried Chive Dumplings ($6.95) Expected chive dumplings like dim sum but it's actually chive boxes. Unfortunately, it was really greasy and salty. Did not finish. 8 pc Pork XLB ($8.95) Yum. 8 pc Pork & Crab XLB ($8.95) Similar to the pork but the soup has a little seafood flavor to it. Good but the pork, I thought, was better. Dan Dan Mien ($7.50) In the past, I've never had enough sauce so I ordered extra sauce. Happy they didn't charge more for it. Loved the dish but it's a bit pricy for the amount you get. Cold Noodles with Sesame Dressing ($7.50) Delicious but again, pricy for the amount you get. Green Onion Soy Sauce Noodles ($7.50) I'm not sure what I was expecting here and maybe it's my fault for ordering this but this was super bland and tasted like a 12 year old made it. I've been to the Dough Zones in Seattle and this one twice now and things are pretty consistent. The XLB's are definitely the star with the spicy beef and the dan dan noodles and sesame noodles as strong supporters (albeit the noodle quantity is small for the price). I know the cucumbers are popular and good but again, expensive. Would come again but will stick to the XLB's and the spicy beef app.

    I love a good dumpling. The restaurant was cute and simple, but service kind of slow. They don't serve alcohol, but they have wine and beer. We went for Houston Restaurant Week and tried several things. My fave was the cucumber salad. I love spicy food, so I wish the Dan Dan noodles were a bit more spicy.

    Enjoyed this spot! The Dan Dan noodles weren't too Szechuan flavored which I enjoyed. Cucumbers were great with a good crispy crunch in each bite. The wonton soup had little flavor but the chili oil wontons were great. Not pictured, green scallion pancakes that we enjoyed & XLB that were so yummy!! We got a pancake beef roll that could definitely be skipped as there was little flavor. The service was great but the vibes inside were a little odd. There wasn't any music so it was just very quiet since it was only our group and 1 other. I would probably only order takeout from here on out!

    Everything we ordered was bland. You're better off getting dumplings at well known Chinatown restaurants. The scallion pancake was too oily and did not have a good mouthfeel. Very thin. The pork baozi was disappointing and wasn't juicy, and the bao felt tough...almost like they bought frozen baozi from the grocery store and just steamed it and served. The xiaolong bao wrapper was too thick, and again no flavour. You're better off getting good ones at wanna bao restaurant. Would not recommend coming here for dim sum/dumplings.

    My new goal is to try all the dumplings in Houston, while it is unattainable due to the many good dumpling places, this was certainly a good place to stop. I believe it is a small chain, but it still has the service of a mom and pop restaurant. It also had adult beverages but I didn't partake that night. I ordered the soup dumplings and the wanton soup. Both were tasty and just what I was looking for. If you find your self looking for dumplings, this place is solid and won't disappoint.

    My friends and I visited Dough Zone on a weekday evening. We were seated right away as the restaurant wasn't busy, with only two other small parties dining at the time. The restaurant is located in the BLVD Plaza, so parking is plentiful, though the area can get quite busy. The ambiance and decor were nice, but the service was just okay--nothing noteworthy. We ordered the pork and crab meat xiao long bao since they were out of both the pork and chicken xiao long bao. Along with that, we tried the dan dan noodles, beef steamed dumplings, pork wontons in chicken broth, and beef stew noodle soup. Unfortunately, I wasn't too impressed with any of the dishes. The food felt overrated, especially considering how many other dumpling houses in Houston offer better quality and flavor. A common issue across the xiao long bao soup, beef noodle soup, wonton soup, and dan dan noodles was how overly salty everything tasted, which was disappointing. Overall, while the ambiance was nice, I wouldn't recommend this spot and would suggest exploring other dumpling options in the city.

    I received an impromptu lunch invite from a group of co-workers to take a walk to Dough. Man, the idea of having a variety of dumplings sounded so good to me. It was a great experience. We had to select all of our items together. So be prepared for that. I guess this spot great for family style dinning/sharing. The service was great. The dumplings were great, especially the fried ones...I think those are considered pot stickers. Now, I must warn you to be careful with the amazingly, fun soup dumplings. Somehow they've managed to place soup on rhe inside of a dumpling and if you're not careful, it will explode everywhere when you bite into it!!!! Just know that I was wearing a lot of soup on my shirt....Lastly, they have a few noodle options as well that are delicious. Needless to say, it is a great place to try!

    Our family had dinner here last weekend with another family (6 of us total). The location is within the Whole Foods Plaza in the Post Oak area. There is some construction underway so the restaurant was a bit hard to find (some of the wayfinding signs point you straight into a wall). The decor is contemporary and minimalist. Clean, open space. The service was very good. We had a variety of dumplings, the Dan Dan noodles and the seasoned cucumber. Overall, the dumplings were the highlight of the meal. The non-dumpling dishes were okay. The dumplings generally were "good." If this restaurant were in Los Angeles (where we're from), I might have given the restaurant a lower rating but this is about the best dumpling restaurant we've found in Houston thus far (and we've tried a lot of them).

    Meh. I wasn't very impressed. Everything was just okay. I made a reservation thinking it would be crowded on a Sunday morning but it wasn't. My friend and I ordered the beef pancake roll but received the green onion pancakes. I didn't mind because I liked pancakes too but when my friend mentioned it to the server he brought out the beef roll for free. I honestly liked both more than the dumplings. The beef roll was filled with flavorful beef and the pancakes were crispy although plain. The broccoli wasn't too mushy and seemed fresh enough. I found myself dipping them in the sauce since there wasn't any seasoning. The chicken wontons were a bit plain as well without the sweet and spicy sauce. I also tried the chicken xiao long bao which was pretty good. I'm glad I stopped in but I think I'm spoiled living in Houston with so many good choices for dumplings. The service was great and the space immaculately clean.

    I've been to dough zone before in Houston and it was just as delicious as I remembered. They had more noodle options here so we got to try the Yibin noodles. Those were tangy and delicious. We also ordered the cucumber salad. I wished it had more spice but I enjoyed it. We also ordered Xiao Long Baos. The pork ones and the crab ones. I think the pork ones are the way to go unless you really like crab flavor. We were a pretty large group but they were able to seat us at one table and the food came out pretty quickly! All the windows brought some nice natural lighting. Definitely check this place out when you're in Houston!

    This location was actually so much nicer than I expected! And the food was amazing. And I love how if you go close to when they open, the soy sauce and vinegar bottles are all still chilled and it's just nice to eat your steaming food with the cold sauces. We got the sweet and sour cucumbers which were so crisp and delicious. This is perfect for non spicy lovers as most other places will put some sort of chili oil. The yibin noodles were really good and had a slight peanutty taste. And the texture was perfectly al dente. But the serving size was kind of small. The green onion pancake was good and crispy but I don't think it's that worth to order. It would be just as good to buy it frozen and make it yourself. The soup dumplings were amazing too. And honestly, a really good price compared to other soup dumpling locations. The pork one was classic and my favorite. The pork and crab meat was good too. I was pleasantly surprised because I've had soup dumplings with crab before and its always been too fishy for my taste. But here you can taste the crab without it being too overwhelming. The pan fried pork buns were okay. I thought it would be a lot juicier. When I've had it at other places, it will literally squirt when you bite into it. But that didn't happen here. And I really like that you can order frozen versions of some of the dishes to take home.

The colorful green fried rice looked unique, but honestly just tasted like regular fried rice. The shaking beef dish looked amazing presentation-wise, but the sauce was too sweet for a savory dish, and the crispy rice pairing just didn't work well for me. I initially thought the duck dish was Peking duck, but it was actually the Jasmine Tea Smoked Duck. Even so, everyone at my table agreed we still preferred the traditional Peking duck style. The duck itself lacked flavor for us, and the skin was soft instead of having the crisp texture we were hoping for. The only dishes I genuinely enjoyed were the soup dumplings, cucumber salad, and fried dumplings. Most of the other dishes at the table were barely touched. If you're looking for colorful, aesthetically pleasing food and great presentation, you may enjoy this place. But if flavor is your main priority, this spot just wasn't for me personally.

Located inside of the 99 Ranch Market (#1) along Mason, it had so much potential but struggled with foot traffic. As a result, it closed for good several weeks ago. With only a handful of tables, the setup was casual and completely unpretentious. The restaurant transitioned from over-the-counter ordering to a self service kiosk, a practice that has become commonplace amongst many Asian eateries. Prices were reasonable for the area, with plenty of options under $10. The menu featured a number of classics true to Shanghainese cuisine, including their stir fried udon (上海粗炒麵), scallion oil noodles (葱油拌面), min purse wontons (小馄饨), and even braised wheat gluten (烤麩). All of these items delivered in a big way, even their steamed dumplings (水餃) was silky and plump. Unfortunately two Shanghainese staples fell short: soup dumplings / XLB (小籠包) and pan fried buns / SJB (生煎包). The XLB was doughy, unstable, and the broth lacked depth. The SJB suffered from a similar doughy texture, with very little crisp at the bottom. These were not issues initially, but over time the decline in quality became noticeable. There is a part of me that hopes for a revival in a new location. Lol My favorite appetizers and entrees here include, but are not limited to: 1) Shredded potatoes in chili oil (appetizer): a little spicy; loves the crispy texture of the shredded potatoes; tasty and interesting! 2) Sweet & Sour pork loin: i love almost everything sweet & sour so I may be a little biased on this one; however, not only me but also the boyfriend and his coworkers have said that it is delicious, so i'm sure this is a good one! 3) Shrimp w/ cabbage: flavorful, but kinda greasy as the shrimp and cabbage are soaked in oil. Don't be fooled by the orange-reddish colored oil though; this one is not spicy at all. 4) Pork kidneys stir-fried w/ cabbage: another one that sounds bizarre, maybe? oh well, the organ meat is thin-sliced and cooked just right so it is soft and crispy, rather than chewy and plastic-ky (as if overcooked). I would recommend this one to the organ-eaters *wink* 5) Egg scramble w/ Clams: eggs not overcooked; clams taste fresh. Just perfect! Although tasty, the beef patties were super oiley and every bite the oil dripped from the pattie. It detracted from the enjoyment but it was still good. The dining area was clean and chic.

Felt and tasted like it was raw even though I know it wasn't. Weird. Perhaps their other stuff is great but I couldn't finish this. Tasted like it was frozen dumplings from the grocery store just heated there. I mean it tasted factory made to me. I have no doubt many dumplings restaurants premake and freeze their dumplings to be steamed or fried later, but they still taste like they're made in-house. Didn't get that impression at Dough Zone. I don't know the real situation. In Houston you are up against some really spectacular dumpling places.
