Absolutely loved that the place was packed -- you know the food is going to be good. Came in during Friday dinner rush. Servers and bartenders were busy and kept the service high quality. Quartz Vegan ramen was amazing. It's still an intimate location so you'll get your food out in no time. They have an outdoor dining area, inside bar, as well as the main family tables, high top, & booths. If you're looking for some tasty ramen, Rakkan is the place.

Recently had dinner at my favorite ramen spot in Houston. Tried the vegan quartz first time and it was amazing added extra broccolini; it was delicious with the mushrooms. Also, we ordered the garlic pork fried rice. It's really good balance of spice and flavor and is newer entree on the men. Must save its the best I've had from a Japanese restaurant. Also, the salmon sushi is so flavorful and silky melts in your mouth delicious and perfect light bite. I really like that their ramen because its vegan based broth and not oily like others I had. Plus, I feel it's much healthier. They also have a nice bar and have buy one get one tap beer for $1on Saturday's. The service is always consistent and wait staff eager to please the customer. A must try if you like good ramen for good value.

I usually go to the Heights location of Rakkan Ramen and love it, but decided to try the Galleria spot this time. The food was good as usual, but the service was a bit off. When we ordered, the waiter never asked what kind of meat we wanted, and both my friend's and my ramen came out with chicken instead of pork. Not sure why they would assume chicken, but it was dry and not very flavorful. Would've much preferred the pork like we usually get. Still decent overall, but the experience just wasn't the same. Will much prefer going to the heights location.

Came for dinner and really enjoyed it! I was seated very quickly and they accommodated my friend who brought her baby. Service was kind and friendly throughout our meal. I liked the spaciousness of the restaurant and plenty of parking spots out front. The food was enjoyable. The spicy cucumber was crunch and had a nice spice to it. I ordered the spicy quartz and it had a great flavor but I found it not that spicy. I loved that they had a number of vegan offerings on the menu!

Vegetable based broth - tasted light/clean. Nice that they have vegan options. We tried the creamy and spicy miso. The broccolini in the creamy ramen was quite tasty. Spice level was mild. Everything was a-okay - salmon sushi, cucumbers. Lemonade was not our favorite.

I went to this place as a recommendation from Houston Restaurants Week in Post Oak! They have a wonderful restaurants week menu for $39. Plenty of free parking. Spacious restaurant, incredible waitstaff! Here is what I would suggest ordering: Appetizer: SALMON SUSHI (2PCS) Salmon Belly, Sushi rice, Chieve . Main: SPICY GARNET RAMEN SPICY Miso Sauce, Vegetable broth, miso paste, grilled pork, black pepper, green onion, seasoned veggies, seasoned egg, fried garlic . To Go: QUARTZ RAMEN Creamy Sauce, Vegetable broth, fried Broccolini, Chicken Chashu, seasoned egg, fried onion, dried seaweed . Dessert:MATCHA TIRAMISU (+$5) Matcha Tiramisu with Vanilla Ice Cream

I went there twice since this location open. The first time I went there the service was pretty fast. There were so many helped and server. The second time I went there on Sunday night. I saw only one server. The service was slow which I understood because the server was lack of help. The food was good. I loved grilled pork for toppings but not chicken. It was a little dry for me so the second time, I ordered pork instead of chicken. Spicy edamame had no flavor but chicken karake was amazing with spicy sauce on side. Big parking lot.

So Rakkan Ramen is new to the galleria area so my friends and I decided to check it out. We missed their buy one, get one free ramen during the opening but we were able to stop by a few weeks ago. It was a Monday so it wasn't too crowded and we were greeted by the staff as soon as we walked in. Our waiter brought over the menu and gave us the run down of what they offered and made some recommendations. I opted for the vegan bao as a starter and the spicy vegan quartz for my meal. It didn't take long for our food to come out and the bao came first. I enjoyed it but I wish it wasn't as expensive. Then again, what isn't expensive these days. It is on their happy hour menu so I'll be taking advantage of that soon. Then the ramen came. They made a mistake and didn't make mine spicy but it was a quick fix. The ramen was delicious and my friends even got extra noodles because the broth was yummy. We were there for about two hours and the service was impeccable. Our waiter was energetic, personable and really knew his stuff when it came to the menu. The ambiance is also inviting, clean and very calm. Will definitely be back.

Thank you for fixing my late night ramen craving! Our server was really nice and helpful. Came in around a 9pm on a saturday night and it wasn't packed. Got seated right away without resy. Also didn't know that they were doing HRW! For a small app, i got the spicy cucumber. Wasn't spicy at all which i didn't kind, but they were huge cuts of it and nice and crunchy. Ordered their limited special Creamy Truffle Ramen but added pork and seasoned egg. You can smell the truffle aroma as soon as it gets placed on the table. Smelled so good! The broth was nice and creamy, not too salty either. Ramen was nice and bouncy/qq. Liked the addition of the fried broccoli as well. Seasoned egg was beautifully cooked. Mushrooms, tofu and corn were yummy too. Overall, this Rakkan ramen surprised me vs the heights location in a good way. Deff would return! Parking - within the plaza (plenty) Restrooms - Clean single stalled with fancy thick napkins

I was very surprised. And my broth was so delicious. It had such a rich umami flavor due to the miso & I thought the spice level was perfect. Honestly - I could eat jhst that broth for a whole meal. Unlike buldak or some other spicy ramens - the main selling point wasn't the spice. You could get an additional "spice bomb" if you wanted some more heat. The ramen toppings were good but not outstanding - same with the noodles. I thought the "mi-so-hot" was easily 3x better than "the og". The broth in "the og" was pretty interesting and more unique tasting. It felt like the main notes were just umami, pork, and oil. Not bad, but felt like it was missing a little something to make it truly good. If I had just got the OG, I'd rate this place a bit lower - but as it stands I'd 100% come back here for the "mi-so-hot" The interior was pretty nice. It was more "communal style seating" with a couple of big tables. There is also some smaller booths. It's an "order at the counter" type restaurant as well. I saw several comments about parking & was a bit concerned when driving over. I know that part of westheimer is always packed! But there is an attached parking lot & at 3pm on a Sunday, there was plenty of parking! Also - there is some street parking in the neighborhood north of the shop. Overall - will 100% be coming back for some more spicy ramen. Would recommend

Sushi Flight (6 Pieces, 4 Flavors) - Somehow 1,050 calories??? - Raw Salmon x2 - Strangely, I would have liked this colder. It was just okay. - Cooked Salmon x2 - I liked this a lot more than the raw salmon because it had a deeper flavor. - Scallops - Probably my favorite thing on this platter because of the smokiness they imbue with the torching. The sweet aftertaste was definitely worthwhile. - Shrimp - Not as fresh as I would have liked, as someone who's eaten a lot of shrimp, but I still liked the taste. Still, pretty mediocre. Tantan Tsukemen - Very interesting broth. Potent, salty, and full of bold flavor. My friend swapped the pork for chicken, and the chicken worked really well with the broth. They serve the chicken as a cold cut. This is a double-noodle dish with a soy milk-based dipping sauce. I normally would have ordered this because I LOVE tantan ramen, but I had to forgo it for the limited-time Creamy Truffle Ramen. Creamy Truffle Ramen - LOVED the broth. It was very light and creamy. I actually liked this a lot more than tonkotsu ramen. The truffle wasn't too overwhelming--just mild enough to hint at its flavor without becoming the only flavor profile you get. Truffle is like baking with rose water; finding that balance is quite hard. I will admit the whole table smelled like truffles, though. The torched king oyster mushroom paired wonderfully with the dish, and the broccolini was an equally interesting topping choice. I also found bits of melted Parmesan throughout the ramen, which the menu listed as an ingredient. The egg wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was still a decent soy egg. As I kept eating, the truffle oil became more intense, and the fattiness started to get a bit overwhelming without washing it down with water. Great flavor overall, but I think this dish is best paired with an appetizer to help cut through the richness. One of my favorite things about this place, which my BF mentioned, was the noodle texture. I noticed it too as I ate--a good bite with a slick texture that was just starchy enough to cling to the broth. We had leftover noodles from the Tantan Tsukemen at the end of the meal and ended up using the Creamy Truffle broth as a dipping sauce. Honestly, no regrets. The cold noodles didn't work quite as well in this dish, but the broth was definitely a banger. This was also the first ramen broth I couldn't finish but desperately wanted to bring home. (Obviously, I did.) Their to-go containers are surprisingly sleek, too. It's a weird thing to compliment, but I almost wanted to keep the container as much as the broth. Special comment on the utensils here--the soup spoons are ridiculously cute! Would love to have a similar set at home. Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was thoughtful. The music wasn't too loud, and it wasn't that crowded for a Saturday night. They do play a lot of popular Japanese songs, so if you're an international music enthusiast, you'll appreciate hearing "Mayonaka no Door" by Miki Matsubara.

One waitress served everyone in the restaurant while I was there. She was speedy in taking and delivering orders. She seemed very nice! Food: ordered Tonkotsu Gachi and my mom ordered the yuzu. Food arrived very quickly, though we ordered no appetizers. The tonkotsu broth was rich and velvety in texture, but more like a mild umami in flavor. The chashu pork was pale, but melt in your mouth buttery and bursting with savory pork goodness! The marinated egg wasn't brought up to temperature with the broth -- a little cooler than room temperature, with a medium oozy yolk. It felt like the marinade penetrated all through to the yolk -- it was great! I welcomed the novel choice to use red onion over the usual scallions. It was a nice touch of color and brought in that bright, juicy onion flavor that I crave. Noodles were perfect texture. Not too hard or mushy. This bowl feels made to focus on the broth and flavor and not so much an instagram post. Delicious!! My only complaint was a very very very slight bitterness in the background. I couldn't pin where it was coming from. Maybe that's a risk of simmering bones for so long. I'll keep this short because I couldn't just eat my moms bowl... The Yuzu shio broth was clearer, with bright, citrusy, and savory body. The bamboo shoots were golden (grilled?) with a little snap to it. Reminds me of a king oyster mushroom.
