Service was OK we had 6 at our table but one of the friend would like to pay separately but the server automatically charged her 20% service fee which he shouldn't since that was only for 1 person He should have let the customer chose to put it her own tips. I love Rakkan ramen! All locations are consistent and the flavor and quality is always the same. Typically tonkotsu ramen makes me nauseous, so the vegan broth has been a game changer for me. I almost always get the creamy quartz, but have tried a lot on the menu and everything is always spot on. I did want to note to anyone who comes here specifically for Vegan- they started adding a pork oil to their broths. When I went to the MKT location they told me beforehand, but today I forgot to ask and they didn't say anything, so by the time I remembered they already made my bowl. We have seen Rakkan for a while and had been meaning to try them out. It's in a big strip mall so plenty of parking. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We opted for indoor. Inside they have tables and booths. Once seated, staff explained that their broth is all plant based. There were plenty to choose from. We started with the sushi flight that composed of 6 nigiris. They were delicious! Highly recommended to try them. It may not compare to high end sushi but still pretty decent. We ordered the Amber ramen and Spicy Quartz ramen. Amber is soy based soup with slices of char shiu + egg.. It was a bit salty for my taste and the char shiu was on the fatty side. Noodles were firm. Spicy quartz comes with slices of chicken breast + egg. This was recommended by our server. The broth was yummy. I'll order it again. Check them out if you're in the area. Recently had dinner at my favorite ramen spot in Houston. Tried the vegan quartz first time and it was amazing added extra broccolini; it was delicious with the mushrooms. Also, we ordered the garlic pork fried rice. It's really good balance of spice and flavor and is newer entree on the men. Must save its the best I've had from a Japanese restaurant. Also, the salmon sushi is so flavorful and silky melts in your mouth delicious and perfect light bite. I really like that their ramen because its vegan based broth and not oily like others I had. I usually go to the Heights location of Rakkan Ramen and love it, but decided to try the Galleria spot this time. The food was good as usual, but the service was a bit off. When we ordered, the waiter never asked what kind of meat we wanted, and both my friend's and my ramen came out with chicken instead of pork. Not sure why they would assume chicken, but it was dry and not very flavorful. Would've much preferred the pork like we usually get. Still decent overall, but the experience just wasn't the same. I hate that I'm writing this review. But BEWARE if you ask for delivery. I selected the restaurant to deliver / their preferred vendor with no name, and the delivery person didn't knock on my door so I had no idea my food was here and it was cold by the time I found it. I called the restaurant and they said there was "nothing we can do." So I asked who their preferred delivery service was because they told me to take it up with them, and they didn't know. So Rakkan Ramen is new to the galleria area so my friends and I decided to check it out. We missed their buy one, get one free ramen during the opening but we were able to stop by a few weeks ago. It was a Monday so it wasn't too crowded and we were greeted by the staff as soon as we walked in. Our waiter brought over the menu and gave us the run down of what they offered and made some recommendations. I opted for the vegan bao as a starter and the spicy vegan quartz for my meal. It didn't take long for our food to come out and the bao came first. I enjoyed it but I wish it wasn't as expensive. Then again, what isn't expensive these days. It is on their happy hour menu so I'll be taking advantage of that soon. Then the ramen came. They made a mistake and didn't make mine spicy but it was a quick fix. I saw only one server. The service was slow which I understood because the server was lack of help. The food was good. I loved grilled pork for toppings but not chicken. I am very disappointed with the lack of care and customer service. I really liked the ramen but the last two times we have ordered delivery, they have failed to add the chili oil packets -- which make a difference in the taste and I feel are essential to ramen. This time we placed a door dash delivery and I personally called the restaurant and asked them to make sure to add the chili oil - I was told the notes from uber or door dash don't appear for them but they assured they would add some packets now that I called. Well they did not, again. It's very disappointing because what's the point of talking to an employee and being assured something will be done, when they are not. Im addicted to this place! I love the spicy garnet with chicken but I rotate through all the ramen. I also like the sushi flight for $9.99 and sake and beer specials.
