It's goal of mine and my partner's to try a new pizzeria if we see it by chance and that's exactly what happened to Doughboys Pizzeria! However, to our demise, we didn't even order pizza! They had a deal on bogo wings and so we ordered buffalo and sweet & spicy wings (kind of like thai chili) as well as cheesy garlic roses. The wings' flavors were good but we would've wanted it crispier! The cheesy garlic roses were a little too salty for our liking. Definitely going to re-review once we get to try their pizzas!

We have fond memories of that old favorite pizza--this was so far removed. We stopped going to Doughboy's a few owners back. The original owner read the bad reviews and offered the next buyers their fan favorite recipes, (the recipes that had the customers coming back), but the new owners wanted to make it their own. Shame. Even if it's been too long to remember what the original pizza tasted like, the pizza was underwhelming. I've eaten Neapolitan pizza in Italy and lived in New York I wouldn't compare the pizza I ate today to either. The one thing that is similar to Italy is they don't have ice. They sell canned drinks but no ice. There are several tables inside. It's probably just good for takeout right now because it was HOT inside. The pizza was missing toppings mentioned on the menu, which we would have preferred. The BBQ sauce is too sweet for this pizza; it doesn't complement it. There are so many better pizzerias in the area. I want to be fair, they did just open, but I had highest hopes for the reopening. Currently, there is no ambiance to speak of, Also the countertop was in disarray with things like spices and the basil and green onions that the pizza was missing. The pizza was just... alright.

Thought we'd give the new place a try. We had a Great pizza , combination pizza lots of toppings, buffalo wings were ok, kinda need to cook a lil more a lil more crispy would be nice. We called in our order and our pizza was ready in 22 minutes for pick up. They have seating inside too. The pizza was good as I said, next time well as if they can bake it a lil longer so the crust is a crispier, kinda chewy but that's just personal preference.

Doughboys has new owners. Regular pizza is amazing my family shares. unfortunately, the gluten free crust tasted very homemade and the crust was funky. I have made gf products at home before so I know how it goes. Just want to help my fellow celiacs! It was inedible and I ended up tossing the $30 pizza. Regular crust is a winner though!

Finally, a real New York-style slice on the Central Coast. Doughboys is back and the new owners (took over in August) are doing it right. The crust folds the way it should, sauce has legit flavor, and toppings are fresh and loaded. I grew up on NY pizza, and this is the closest I've had out here -- no gimmicks, just solid, authentic pizza. Good people running it, laid-back vibe, and a place I'll keep coming back to. If you've been looking for the real deal, Doughboys delivers

The pieces are big, and only $5. My all time favorite is Regina's in Boston. This spot is the closest to Regina's in the five cities area.

This is the perfect spot for me when I have a craving for pizza. I can pick up just 1 or 2 pieces, and I'm full. The people that run it now are 5 star, and the pizza 4 star,(Regina's in Boston being the 5 star bar for me).

This pizza is so good!!!! We got half pepperoni, half sausage and enjoyed every bite. We will definitely be ordering from here again! The cashier, Jocelyn, was super sweet and helpful. Cute place too.

My first time at Doughboys, the man up front was polite. We built our own pizza with zucchini, salami, garlic, artichoke hearts and spinach. Since we paid for 5 toppings I would expect them to put a bit more stuff on it. If we had known how light the toppings were going to be we would have only ordered it with one or two toppings. The taste was good, but there just wasn't enough toppings on it. I also found it kind of greasy compared to other places. Casual ambiance.

The food was awesome. Best pizza I've had in a while. The service was fast and efficient. The order was perfectly executed.

Small to-go box, half full with limp romaine and grated parmesan.

I was happy with the prices and disappointed in half of the food. The good: the meatballs. Large and flavorful and only slightly over cooked. The zucchini appetizer was also tasty, and a great healthier option for a vegetarian. The bad: the Caesar salad was limp and at $6.50, was laughable in portion size. Was the caesar dressing supposed to be on the side? I definitely didn't taste it. The ugly: the fettuccine alfredo. I generally prefer al dente... but not that much. And the sauce was literally watery, with no flavor. Luckily the watery sauce absorbed a little into the pasta when I added plenty of my own parmesan and pepper and attempted to bake it in the oven to make it better. But come on... you can't serve watery alfredo sauce. I'll give Doughboy's Pizzaria another shot... and order something with dough next time. Maybe that's where I went wrong.

Best pizza in SLO county. The dough just tastes that much better than other options around. Only downside is their app never works and their website glitches so online orders kinda have to go through Doordash which sucks cuz that's such a racket designed to squeeze/hurt business (just like Yelp!).

The Pizza was pretty skimpy on its toppings for the price. It wasn't bad pizza but it wasn't anything to write home about either.

The restaurant is located right next to the train station, and they had a dedicated carpark, but it also seemed like street parking was readily available nearby as well. The outdoor dining area was pleasant and had heaters available. Once we arrived, we were seated promptly and brought menus and water. They also kindly brought water for our dog, even without us asking them for it. We shared two appetizers, including the ceviche and tostada. Both were excellent, fresh and full of flavor. For mains, I got the misoyaki butterfish, while my husband had the bouillabaisse. I was jealous that he decided to order this because I don't like ordering the same main as someone else I'm dining with, but the jealousy dissipated once I got the butterfish. It was coated in a sweet teriyaki sauce which it paired wonderfully with, and the texture was pleasant and soft. It was served atop a bed of wild rice and greens. The bouillabaisse was also superb. It's hard to imagine that their other main dishes are better than these two, though I'm sure they're also great. We couldn't go past the lime and coconut creme brulee for dessert. Both of us couldn't get enough of this. Our waitress was very nice and efficient. We had everything we needed and never needed to flag her down for anything. Someone else, perhaps the owner, came out and asked us how our meal was while we were eating which was a nice touch. I'd recommend this as a must-visit if you're in the Pismo Beach area.

Rarely do I walk away from a dining experience where the quality of service and quality of food fight to outshine one another, but this was one of those spots. Our server, a German gentleman, was the consummate professional- always friendly, never overstepping, and added such a warm dimension to our meal. The fried green tomatoes and the white beet appetizers were standouts. I especially loved the vinegary dressing on the greens of the beet dish. For mains, we got the leek olive potato pizza, the ribeye, and the wood fire poached halibut. The avocado chimichurri that accompanied the ribeye was the perfect balance, and the sautéed greens under the fish were savory with the right amount of bite. I also liked their selection of mocktails; the pink pony club was a particular standout. All this for $200 was a better price tag than I was expecting, but most importantly, it got the stamp of approval from my notoriously picky grandmother and uncle. This spot is worth the drive.
