This place used to be the go to Pizza place for my family. The reason was because the pizza was pretty good and the price was good. Was the pizza great? No, but it was good enough and the 2 for 1 deal made it work. Now the pizza isn't quite as good as it used to be (sandwiches are still pretty good, but pizza doesn't really have much on it anymore) and the price shot through the roof in the last few years. It's not good enough pizza to charge as much as they are now, and they should have stayed in their lane which was inexpensive decent pizza for a good price. They need to lower their prices, or won't be around much longer. read more

We checked into the Madonna Inn and didn't feel like going to the restaurant, so we ordered two pies for the family and had them delivered to the room. Great choice! Both pizzas were delicious. Dough, toppings, and sauce were on deck, and they even showed up with plates, cheese/peppers, and napkins...clutch! We even had a few slices waiting when we returned from the pool. On my bucketlist to try every Pizza place in SLO County! This week's pick was Fatte's Pizza. My boyfriend and his friends have tried it and so I figured, it was my time to try it and review it. We took awhile to see which deal would suit us best but in the end, we ended up getting two large Chicken Combos (substituted the olives for mushrooms). They were very tasty, I especially loved the taste of the crust! They also got it done pretty fast, I would say around 15 minutes since we placed the order. The one thing that keeps it from being a favorite place is the crust. It's a bit too thick for me. Not sure if they have a thin crust. Never asked and I don't see it on the website. The pizza place is a hard one to review. I've ordered from there like 4 times. I like they chicken combo pizza quite a bit. The service is not great. I feel as if have tried to stiff me out of the deal quite a bit. Their calzone is big, but does not taste very good. It feels water down and just lacks the flavor and sauce I would prefer. When we're visiting family from out of town there we always have to order pizza from here. It's always 2 for one and delicious. We got the Hawaiian and pepperoni both were great hot and none left. Nice sizes and they have a pick up or delivery option but they're usually slammed for delivery with pick up it's only about 20 minutes. I haven't been to fatte's in quite a while. They did not disappoint. I forgot how good the white sauce is on their meat pizza. The fatte's special was also on point. Ah, the quintessential Cal Poly student go to spot. This has been around for decades and still exists. They still have that 2 for 1 deal, which is an excellent steal during this day and age. This is why they have so many orders, loyal customers, and still exists to this day. They're know for their white garlic chicken pizza - super garlicky and delicious. Please try this! Also got their sticky fingers pizza which is similar to the regular combination pizza. We got two small pizza of each, for about $20 total, that's only $10 each pizza! And the small is quite big! Plenty of foods for two people - we had a whole pizza as leftovers for the new few days. 5 stars for the excellent value. The taste of the pizza is above average, certainly a thousand times better than the Pizza Hut and other chains. Toppings are plentiful. Bread is soft and a good size. The parking lot is small, and there's no dine-in option. Grab your pizza and go! It's definitely meant for busy college students on the go or grab pizza for a party/hangouts/potluck/etc. read more

Pizzaria!! Nothing is as tasty as piping hot pizza right out of the oven! We ordered a Family pack of two large pizzas, six beverages, Italian bread and BBQ chicken wings to be delivered to Sinsheimer park so we could have a fun socially distanced pre-Christmas celebration. We messed up on the time since we had ordered online and then ran late, but we stopped by the store and picked up the hot food on the way to the park. (Last time, Fattes delivered perfectly to the park and the pizzas were nice and hot)! Also rich and flavorful! As an afficianado of white sauce AKA Alfredo, I had never had a white sauce pizza until I tried Fatte's. As a teacher, we frequently had pizza parties, and chicken with white sauce was always the students' favorite!! Something about the hot crust and delicate sauce make this a perfect combination. We added olives and Canadian Bacoon this time to the white sauce for our own spin on the classic. Just moved here and I drive by Fatte's most every day. Ordered a half veggie and half sausage pepperoni. The employee said we can order one of each. Buy one get one free. The Monster Combo Sub is among the tastiest sandwiches that I have eaten in my entire life. It huge, flavorful, and comes with just the right about of grease. Certainly not something that I can eat every day, but it is a treat when I stop by for one. They provide the veggies separately in foil to keep them fresh until you are ready to eat. I'm a Cal Poly alum, and Fatte's is a long-standing modest hole-in-the-wall spot, that has a magical item that everyone comes back for: the chicken and white sauce pizza. Simple, one topping, mouthwatering. I don't know what their white sauce is, besides being a garlic sauce, but it is unparalleled. You can add another topping (like bacon), but I prefer just the chicken, it lets the sauce work its magic. Fatte's also has a permanent 2-for-1 pizza deal, so the price is fantastic as well! They make the pizzas quickly and are open till 11, which makes this a great late-night snack. The staff has always been friendly, and while there is no dine-in, pick-up and delivery are super easy. The pizza keeps great as leftovers and I try to make a stop here every time I'm back in SLO, and then crave it the rest of the year. read more

This is five stars for what Fatties really is, cheap yet tasty pizza. The pizza itself is just a good average 3 1/2 star but lovable pizza, the extra stars are for its tasty VALUE. Is there better pizza out there in SLO? Absolutely, but where can you get two 4 topping large pizzas with extra cheese delivered for under $40 with tax and tip. Ordering tip, for delivery call Fatties store for your order, remember when you have an option delivery directly from the businesses keeps more of the money with the small businesses versed hearty cut your phone app nationwide corporation apps companies take for the service (yes I use them too, but like all my local dollars staying local when I have the option). PIZZA: Always great service, great quality product FOR THE PRICE POINT. A thicker crust somewhere between a pan style and a less chewy hand tossed crust in my opinion. SAUCE: Simple yet tasty red sauce, same is true of their white sauce. TOPPINGS: Plenty of option of good quality topping, most other affordable pizza places use lower quality topping, not here. Seriously take advantage of the double toppings option, or ordering a mix of double and single toppings to your exact liking. Not sure about doubling or tripling toppings, try it sometime when one of your pizza has a higher value and upgrade your free second pizza some doubled toppings, you likely will never go back. Don't forget they also make a very nice white sauce great with 'chicken combo' or just chicken or add artichoke to either of the previous. Comfort food! I'm a big fan of the double topping option for special pizzas or ordering double toppings and extra cheese and extra sauce on your favorite pizza. Our house favorites include: * Sticky Fingers * Deluxe Hawaiian * Chicken Combo Custom orders: * 2x Ham, 2x Pineapple, extra cheese, extra sauce * 2x or 3x Pepperoni with 1x of olives, or mushroom. If 2x pepperoni often add 1x ham or sausage. Extra cheese, extra red sauce, (Awesome equal price option to go with above 2x ham/pineapple). * white sauce with chicken & artichoke Not gourmet, but full on 'comfort food' pizza especially when doubling toppings, and extra cheese. I love wet 'saucey' pizzas, so I almost always order extra sauce for a tad messy but oh so tasty pizza. A pizza restaurant where you really can afford to a pie or exactly how you want it without breaking the bank with the extra fees. This place is so good! My boyfriend and I regularly ate at Fatte's and really enjoyed the two-for-one deal. You get really good pizza for a great price. The staff is friendly over the phone and in person. After calling in our order, the pizzas were ready in under 15 minutes, which didn't diminish the quality at all. We got food to go through GrubHub so we didn't know their pizzas were buy one get one free. It was around $18 for two 10in pizzas so it was a pretty decent deal. Their pizzas were a little dry/ the crust was hard but the flavor is great. I would love to try this place in person some time, maybe the food will be a little bit better. read more

Fatte's Pizza is delicious and priced right! Specials are great! Ordering is quick and easy if you call. No more than 15/20 minute wait. It's a pizza place you order to go. No ordering in, which is fine with us because it's nice to take and enjoy in the comfort of our own home :-) Customer service is good. Quick and to the point. Our pizza order is the Chicken Garlic Alfredo, kitchen sink, and/or Meat Lovers Hawaiian style. YUM!!!! Haven't tried anything else on the menu, yet :-) Perhaps next time will try a Calzone or Meatball Sandwich. Till then, PIZZA at Fatte's is the way to go. Having a booming pizza place in a college town must be nice! Tried the sticky fingers pizza and everyone in our party enjoyed it. Novel concept in that you order two pizzas minimum for a very reasonable rate. If I would have matriculated at Cal Poly SLO I'm sure I would have had this place on the weekly. If you like my reviews, consider "following" my profile for reviews all across the SF Bay Area . Why "follow" someone? It causes the person you follow's reviews to tier to top when you pull up a business. I find this very handy when researching venues. Rod's Review grading scale explained. Essentially I personally base it on the likelihood of a return visit and I try to be stingy with 5 star reviews since they should be "special" in my eyes. You almost miss Fatte's driving by, but seriously, stop in! All pizzas are to go only; they have no seating, so take them home! The have a standard BOGO deal, literally every pizza you buy means you get two. You might think that means they jack up the price, or skimp on the ingredients, but our pizzas were packed with toppings, and delicious. I would definitely take these pizzas to a pot luck, or just to avoid cooking sone night. read more

Honestly, the pizza is pretty darn good. But one of the main workers is AWFUL. No manners whatsoever. Rude on the phone, rude in person, doesn't wear a mask, doesn't say hello or thank you.
