I was there today to smog test my car. It was quick and easy. The price was as quoted over the phone for my vehicle. Great place.

Stay away. Went do Dublin location. Tried to charge me for a retest even though their website stated they do retests for free. I showed up for a retest as they were closing, they decided to close 45mins early, and they refused to test me. I took the day off to fix my car and get it re-tested. I'd rather spend more money and go somewhere else. Completely screwed me over. Never going to return. read more

I saw the reviews on Yelp and called for an appointment . I got a very courteous response saying to just come in and it would only be 10 minute wait if that. I decided to do just that. Indeed, when I got there I did not even wait five minutes. By the time I finished filling out the papers, my car was in the shop being tested. I got my SUV smog tested here. I would not go here the next time. Normally I don't tend to provide bad reviews but feel that I should in this case. The guy seemed courteous but was very poor on delivery. There was only one other customer ahead of me but I ended up waiting 35 to 40 minutes - all because of his incompetence. There was some issue with the computer and he was struggling with it for ever and finally got it right. This is fine as equipment break downs happen - but he was poor in communicating this with me. He finally came out with the printed certificate which was not even printed properly (half the matter was not visible) and he did not even mention it, let alone an apology. It was very matter of fact for him. Finally he did not tell me how long it would take for him to transmit it to the DMV. I tried registering online later and it would not let me register because the DMV had not received the certificate yet - apparently this should be done instantaneously as it is electronic and they charge us for this! I am experiencing 'buyers remorse' now as I came to know that I could have got my smog test done at 20% less than what he charged (WITH free smog retest if test fails). I think it is not ethical for me to disclose the names of competitors and so I would not like to. And one more thing ...this place is superbly inaccessible. I have never seen something like this in USA. You need to drive into a corridor to reach the smog center and if somebody is coming out, good luck! I just did a drop in and the smog check took literally 3 minutes. I don't even know if they really did it, but assuming they did, I ended up with a $98 charge on my credit card! The bill I signed had no estimate on it, just a state fee of $8. I have not done a smog check for a long time, but I didn't think it would cost this much. That brought me to yelp and seeing others having issues with the coupons. Without coupon, be prepared to get rip off! At least tell me how much it is before doing the work, and it would be nice if they'd offer some sort of drop in discount. That's just not the way to run business. Terrible! read more

OK so I called the owner seeking reimbursement for the smog sniffer left in my tail pipe that I had remvoed from my mechanic and he told me to take a hike. BUTafter I posted a review here, the manager (Joe) called me back and had me explain my side. He asked that I bring the invoice from my mechanic and the smog sniffer in. I brought it in and Joe paid me on the spot for the repair cost. Since I had to endure a rattle from a piece of the smog equipment I am only giving 3 stars.
