Love the story behind Dougla Kitchen- it's a Homage to the grandma of chef black. You gotta love a restaurant with a story and passion. It's located where the old black walnut was (a now closed down restaurant of chef black). Parking is street parking. That area can be busy so be sure to arrive early to secure your spot. Between my husband and I we ordered an appetizer and two main entrees. The curry crab dip appetizer was very good and unique in flavor. I got the prawns which were also tasty. My only complaint (the reason for a lower rating)- and something I've seen trending in Chef Blacks restaurants is portion sizes. My husbands Oxtail entree was mostly bone and not filling for him. We can go to another restaurant in town and get a just as tasty oxtail with a larger portion for less of a price. While I understand that this was a finer dining restaurant, and therefore there will be a premium, I do expect to not leave hungry after ordering a main meal with an appetizer to split. We also had a very sweet waitress. I wish I got her name but she was knowledgeable on the new menu and attentive to us as a table.

Amazing new Afro-Caribbean restaurant from Chef Andrew Black. The goat curry is incredible and the roti is amazing, as is the blue crab curry dip with taro chips. The Ting Sparkling Grapefruit drink straight from Kingston, Jamaica is great and takes just like Fresca. Exceptional service from Brendan and a bartender (believe named Cam) who made an amazing guava-flavored Ting drink. Trey also have a very nice and boozy rum raisin ice cream dish that was outta this world. Highly recommended, and is in the same space where Black Walnut used to be, next to Grey Sweater!

Great blend of carribean and Indian flavors, every dish was purposefully made and thoroughly enjoyable, appetizers were especially delicious, entrees were all fantastic oxtail was tender and fall off the bone, but branzino really stole the show, service was also amazing

The love that chef black has for his grandmother is also written in a beautiful love story through the different menu items that they created together! Dougla has hands-down, the best pork chop in the city. From the goat ribs. To the cocktails. From the main courses to the dessert. You can taste the culture that chef black is trying to bring to downtown Oklahoma City 10/10! Vibe that the servers give off as they interpret chef black's message is absolutely incredible! The decoration is incredible. Everything has a unique story and meaning.

So much to say during my visit to the NCAA Tournament…read more.... First off, I apologize for not remembering names. That's not my strong suit. Humidor: It's small, but everything in stock is top shelf. Well stocked also. Staff is very helpful in finding what you're looking for and making recommendations. 10% off for military, vets, and first responders (cigars only). You can smoke on site, which is getting rare these days. Bar & staff: Nothing short of outstanding. Friendly, chatty (if you want that) and make the best Old Fashioned I've ever had. 3 different bartenders, 3 old fashioneds, all amazing. I told them they need to have a "mix off" for bragging rights. They're considering it. If Old Fashioned isn't for you, very wide selection of top shelf liquor, wine, and beer. Wanna play "Stump the Bartender"? I dare you. They'll know how to make it. Atmosphere: Lots of locals and a few visitors like me. Very welcoming. Told me a lot about the city and made me feel welcome. Definitely not a snooty "you're not from here," vibe. They welcomed me as one of their own. Not a sports bar, per se, but the games were on the one TV, which is fine with me. No kitchen on site. If you need food before your liquor, eat beforehand. Bottom line: My go to place in OKC. Should be yours also. Miss y'all already. Hope to be back soon.

Instantly we stopped in and were greeted by, Monica and Tay!!! and let me tell you they were so welcoming we came to sit at the bar for a couple old-fashioned! Next thing you know, we were eating appetizers and having a few more drinks accompanied by everybody's good vibes and spirit. 10 out of 10 you guys this is what customer service is supposed to be. This is how bartenders are supposed to interact. They answered every question and provided amazing. Suggestions with so much knowledge about the product. We were blown away. We are definitely coming back.

Date night at Bar Arboloda. We thought we better go out last night in advance of the winter storm…read more We went early around 4:45 and there were three other people there. By the time we left the place was nearly full. Arbolada is a great neighborhood bar. Located in a historical building it is charming and cozy. A wonderful bar to have drinks with a small menu to satisfy your appetite. I ordered an Old fashion and Jan ordered an expresso martini. The happy hour prices for the old fashion was $7. The expresso martini is not a happy hour option. It was $12, and it was excellent. I never order them, but always taste Jan's. This was the best expresso martini I've ever tasted. For food I ordered a chicken salad sandwich. It was good and I enjoyed it, but I'm not a fan of chicken salad with grapes in it. Jan ordered a hamburger that was very good.. we shared an order of pimento cheese fries that were excellent. The prices are good, the noise low. The atmosphere fun and relaxed. You order at the bar and they deliver to your table.

The burger I would give a 8.5/10. It was cooked great with awesome flavor. I was hoping for a little more cheese/saucy flavor and that's why it wasn't a 9/10. This burger ranks as a top 3 in OKC currently amongst our burger testing group. If you want a good burger and are downtown OKC I'd definitely try this place out!
