Soundbar is a hidden gem! The cute room in the back makes it perfect for hanging out, grab the tablet and play what you want. Open limited days and they use the space also for rentals. The fact you can actually rent it out is a big plus. Drinks are solid and reasonably priced, and the game selection keeps things fun and relaxed. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and I know how much he loves a good record, so I surprised him with a trip to The Sound Bar. We got there almost right when it opened at 5:15 and it was pretty empty, but we loved it, it was nice to have the place to yourself. We ordered some drinks from the bar and just listened to the music that was already playing until my husband decided to request a record of his choice. This is such a vibe. Listening to music while have a few drinks, is a great date night out. They also have tables with cards, or chess boards, to have a fun night out with friends if you choose. The Sound Bar was cool and had potential to be even better than it was. We stopped by on a non-busy night just to check it out and hang out and grab a drink. Unfortunately, they were out of a ton of things, including the first two things that I tried to order. They said they had a delivery coming in a few days, but that didn't help me on that particular night. If you want to hang out and listen to some music and have a drink and want a chill laid back vibe, this is a cool option. There is also a private room in the back where you can hang out. It was empty on my visit, but it could be a cool spot if you had a group of friends you wanted to spend some time with. There was a bunch of vintage equipment that was for sale in the back room. The main room had a ton of records that were for sale. I can see this place having a lot of potential on the right night with the right crowd and maybe if someone was performing. read more

I feel like I should gatekeeper this place. It's upstairs from Saj Lebanese Cuisine in Automobile Alley. they don't have food but they let you bring in food from downstairs (or somewhere else). The drinks we got were all really delicious. I got the Midnight Mischief. It sounds like the ingredients would be a weird combo but it is heavenly. The vibe of the place was so cool. They have music theme nights that you can follow on their instagram for what the nights theme was. This night it was music with color (songs by artists with color in their name: White Stripes, Moody Blues, Green Day, etc). The staff were all great and the record selection was awesome. read more

I absolutely love this place. I have been going for about a year and I always love the chill vibe. I started collecting vinyl about 4 years ago. My sister from another mister was growing weary of me yawning whenever she would stop at a record booth to peruse the vinyl. When she upgraded her system, she gifted me her old 3 in 1. Those do the job, sometimes, however, it isn't a prime listening experience. I knew it was time for me to level up, but I am overwhelmed with technology. I knew I wanted a turntable but wasn't even sure what other components I would need. After visiting a local record store, I was only slightly less confused. I knew that Jay at The Soundbar would be a good resource. I had a nice visit there. I told Jay what I was trying to do. He asked a few questions concerning budget, room size and music style. He recommended a Fluance turntable, Wiim amplifier and some nice Kanto bookshelf speakers. I ordered them and he even advised me over the phone on how to hook them up. What a game changer! ListenUpOKC is conveniently located of broadway in the automobile alley. They are a bit difficult to find if you don't know where you are looking but it's between two stores and up the stairs. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the music. I absolutely adore this place. There was plenty of seating available and it truly is a sit down and vibe to the music place. They let you bring in food and drinks from the bar and restaurant downstairs which is stellar. The vinyl selection is vast and the views aren't so bad from here either. This is a long awaited addition to the music scene in OKC. The Maestro reviewed and played recordings of the various selections, gave us insight into the history of the composers and their inspiration, and answered our questions. I was really surprised first time I visited ListenUpOKC. I have always been a music fan especially when it comes to vinyl. You cannot duplicate the sound and why would you? This club has amazing sound systems and is setup for total enjoyment. When you first walk in, you see the massive collection of albums, all genres. The seating area is perfect as you have no bad seat to listen to the music. Area rugs, comfortable chairs and a couch make it fantastic spot to enjoy the sounds as you watch the sunset. Multiple sound systems are setup to provide you with incredible sound and several are available to purchase as are albums. Last night, the theme was "Two is company, three is a trio." Music from Jimi Hendrix, ZZ Top and Wynton Marsalis were just some of the bands we heard. If you want a great listening spot to revel in or just enjoy the sounds, this is the place to be!!! read more
