Too expensive. Feels like they are all about money not pets. My dog has valley fever plus pneumonia. She got pneumonia since Dec. One drug did work but of course have to keep coming back for office visits and x-rays. Now dr doesn't call back. Staff lies stating doctor was not in however the other staff states doctor was at lunch. Of course no call back being waiting for two days.. Will be going to another vet that actually cares about pets well being. read more

Very disappointed with Dr. Carpenter at Dove Mountain Vet. I brought my cat in for a pre-dental visit. Blood was drawn and I was told Dr. Carpenter would call me to discuss the results. Dr. Carpenter never called and I got the "brush-off" from the receptionist 3 times when I called to follow-up. Needless to say - I cancelled the scheduled dental and will be going to a more professional veterinarian. read more

Bad experience at Dove Mountain Veterinary. Our little Yorkie (Sissy) had become very lethargic and had quit eating. DMV told me to bring her in as an urgent care patient. I explained that she had similar symptoms a few months before and was treated at an emergency hospital for what turned out to be some small rocks she had ingested. I added that I had no idea if this was the same problem but that she seemed very sick. Sissy was examined by Dr. Nicolette Gamez who examined her based only on the previous problem. She determined her GI track was fine and gave her a clean bill of health. She received two injections "just in case she had an infection and "Just in case she was nauseous". Sissy continued to get worse and I ended up rushing her to the emergency hospital again. They immediately took blood (something Dr. Gamez apparently didn't think was needed) and realized Sissy was near death with extremely low platelets and a very low red blood cell count. After several days in the hospital Sissy is home and recovering. While in the hospital DMV called, not to see how she was doing, but to tell us that Dr. Gamez had wrapped up her diagnosis and wanted to let us know Sissy just had gas and would be fine. I've had no problems with the other doctors at DMV but I would advise caution should your pet get assigned to Dr. Gamez. The clinic has yet to call to see how Sissy was doing read more

Dr Neuman is an awesome vet. My shihtzu, Chubi gets nippy when she is in pain. Chubi wouldn't let Dr Neuman get a muzzle on her. Chubi kept trying to bite Dr Neuman. Didn't bother Dr Neuman. She took Chubi out of the room so a vet tech could help. That did the trick. After Dr Neuman brought Chubi back into the examination room she told me how well Chubi behaved. Then Dr Neuman got on the floor with my pup and played with her. read more

we waited more than 8 hours outside to see an emergency vet in the middle of a snowy time ... they kept telling user were next ... after 8 hours we were told it could be at least 7 more hours ! we left without our dog being seen we went to our regular vet the next day ... I would never think of going there again in an emergency or not ! so rude as we were not even allowed to go in to use the bathroom ! read more

If you are looking for teeth cleaning and a nail trim with extended office hours, this is a great, friendly office. If you pet is ill, you need to look elsewhere for veterinary care. Our yellow lab was sent home with ear cleaner and skin spray and a recommendation for teeth cleaning, when a few days later she nearly died from a bacterial infection, detected in 10 minutes with a simple blood test at another vet. We understand diagnosis of animals is difficult, but it was clear our lab was very ill and we were told she was on a "food protest." In all fairness, the staff is kind, and the hours are very convenient, but for potentially serious issues, this is probably not the first place you should take your pet. read more

I don't know where to start! This clinic is wonderful. I had a situation with My dog on a Sunday and did not have the funds to attend a emergency clinic. I called all the other clinics that we're open on Sunday and Dove Mountain veterinary is the only clinic that would even listen to what I had to say. They told me given the situation they would be able to squeeze me in without a problem. Due to the current circumstances we were not allowed in the office but the quality of care still provided was immaculate. read more

I took Pegasus here because he was having trouble breathing. I was not sure if his vaccinations were up to date and I made this clear to the staff when I booked his appointment. They thought that he needed a couple shots to help out his breathing. They never once expressed any concern about not having all of his medical history prior to the shots and never went over the possible risks with me. Well, as it turns out Pegasus bit two people while he was getting his shots. Obviously! He is a cat! The staff called animal control and now a sheriff will be at my house tomorrow to take him into quarantine for TEN DAYS. Had I known this was even a thing I would have never allowed them to give him shots. Congrats on getting Pegasus off the streets. GREAT WORK! Tucson can sleep a little easier tonight thanks to you. read more

At first, 2 years ago, I thought this place was great! The Vet, Dr. Neuman was very friendly. Little did I know, she didn't have a clue... When I brought my weimaraner in with "bloat", instead of sending me immediately to an emergency vet hospital (because they don't have overnight care?) Bloat is something that needs to be treated immediately, "I" knew that... she said she didn't think it was bloat and wasted 45 mins plus $100. to literally kill my baby. She took him in the back saying she was going to try to drain something? During the process, I'm sure she poked a hole in his stomach. After I demanded my dog back and she admitted it was bloat, she sent me to Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson (which I wouldn't recommend to anyone either!! Due to them not having a Vet on hand and they didn't call one in, until after I filled out all their forms etc. So at least 2 - 3hrs had gone by - 2 too late). After two surgeries and $14,000. my baby died and the emergency vet let slip something about a hole in his stomach. Never again to either place. :( - A broken heart read more

We have been bringing our Shiba Inu into DMV for 4 years. She has had orthopedic surgery and other issues that have all been successfully treated at DMV. This time we brought her in for a growth on her eye. In consultation with the Vet (Dr. Laton who has been her primary vet for all these years) we elected to have it surgically removed. We also elected to have her teeth cleaned at the same time since she would be under anesthesia . DMV laid out the costs for us in an estimate and we were fine with it. During the procedure, the growth came off while they were manipulating it during their work and they didn't have to cut her eye or do anything further to remove it. They completed the teeth cleaning and everything went well. When I went to pick up our dog and pay the told us they would reduce the cost of the estimate because they didn't have to do anything to the eye. They only charged us for the teeth cleaning and costs associated with that treatment and pre-operative blood work, along with the medicine she needed for the eye. I appreciated their honesty and ethical approach to billing. read more

There isn't a score low enough....Avoid Dove Mt Veterinarian clinic! Pressured me to not trust my breeder and get repeat vaccines that my kitten just had and didn't needed including the dangerous rabies VACCINE two months after my 5 month kitten just had one! Told me the vaccine record was "faked" and claimed that the original vet "couldn't clarify if a vet gave them or not and to not to trust my breeder" made me pay for another fecal and fecal vaccine after kitten had just been tested two weeks before and was negative! When I confronted them after getting the actual records from.the original vet, they said that all services were "recommended" but not mandatory and that I could refuse at any time, nothing about we are sorry for pressuring you to spend ultimately $154.00 for services and procedures that put your kitten's health at risk and not needed..not even an apology but said that I had a lot of nerve yelling at them this early in the morning! Melody is the name of the absolute disgusting person working behind the counter that I had the "pleasure" of Expressing my concerns to...STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC!!!! Trust your gut! The staff was terrific--in addition to providing competent care for my dog, they loved him to the moon and back. He was totally comfortable and at ease throughout his visit during all of the procedures the doctor and techs performed--chipping, lab work, general exam, and oral vaccine. LOVE this veterinary office! I had taken my Aussie Shep to the Twin Peaks office years ago. Dr. Neuman was awesome. I now work and live in Dove Mountain so I was very happy to hear that she was opening a new office in Dove Mountain. We have 3 senior dogs who have had a multitude of 'old dog' issues over the last year. My husband and I were amazed by the beautiful, high tech, stream lined office that Dr Neuman has opened here in Dove Mountain. The staff is great, the Vet Assistants are top notch and we love the two Veterinarians that we have had the pleasure of seeing. My dogs have had such great care with Dr. Swenson and Dr. Carpenter. Their rates are reasonable. They are even open late and on weekends. We highly recommend their veterinary services! read more

Took my dog for a grooming last month and the next thing I know they tell me he "lost 2 teeth" in the process! Really? How does that happen? Oh, and here is a quote for cleaning his teeth....$1200! Making my wife feel guilty that we are miss treating our dog, who happens to 14 years old and happy -healthy! Not only am I unhappy with their care and HORRIBLE grooming but MY vet cleaned his teeth 2 weeks later (oh and he didn't loose any teeth) for $300. Now they won't quit calling and emailing about "needed" appointments. Terrible experience and no way I'm ever taking my dog there again. read more

My fur babies received the best care at Dove Mountain Veterinary. The doctor took her time and even SAT on the floor with my Muffy. She did a full physical exam on him. I strongly recommend bringing your pets to this facility. First of all the building is new and BEAUTIFUL! Second, from the receptionist, to the tech and then the doctor, I received AMAZING customer service. While Dr. Neuman took my baby to receive his vaccines and to show him off to the rest of the employees, the tech came into the room. She went over discharges and then EVEN CHECKED ME OUT IN THE ROOM. There was no fighting with Muffy on the leash trying to hand my credit card to the receptionist while other pets were coming in and out. I RECOMMEND THIS CLINIC HANDS DOWN!! read more

Dr. Gamez is the best! She is caring and extremely knowledgeable. My 3 year old german shepherd is extremely sick and her care can be complicated at best. She has congenital heart and liver problems! I would (and do) recommend Dr. Gamez to everyone I meet, she takes her time and works with me as a team to help my dog be the best she can be and give her a life that she deserves. I have recently taken my dog to this veterinary practice and am extremely pleased. I love Dr Campbell and the staff working with her. Clean, neat, efficient and caring. I have had my 3 dogs paperwork all transferred to this establishment and will use them in the future for my Arizona veterinary needs. I find all veterinaries here in Tucson area a little on the expensive side but with superb training and service I can expect to pay a little more. read more

I went in recently for a boarding quote and was disheartened by the confusion the reception staff seemed to show. I don't know if the poor girl was new or training but she seems to be so anxious to speak with me. Almost as if the darling froze! I was trying to inquire about the small kennels and possibly putting two pets in the large. I couldn't really get a straight price. I also wanted to know what information was needed from me but she didn't seem to know. Maybe it was just all the commotion in the lobby, and she would possibly be more focused in the back? I'm sad because we live so close by! I might just take my pets to central pet, as I'm worried about what else might get confused if reception alone is not sure! read more

Was a client at Twin Peaks Veterinary and needed boarding but they weren't equipped to take large dogs, and so they recommended their sister clinic, Dove Mountain. I took the facilities tour a month prior to when I needed the reservation and met with the young man who would be caring for my dog and cat. He showed me both areas for the dogs and cats, and I felt comfortable making the reservation. I had asked Twin Peaks if my dog and cat had all the vaccinations necessary a month prior to leaving them in their care and the receptionist assured me that everything was a go. But then I received a phone call with a return phone number of Twin Peaks from someone who worked at Dove Mt and was only there at that clinic that day, asking about vaccinations (when I called Twin Peaks they said nobody by that name worked there and I had to later show them the message on my phone before they could determine who was calling and why). It was strange, but I was still assured everything was fine when I later walked into Twin Peaks to triple check. On the day I was set to drop off the pets, I was super prepared with everything they needed. I showed up at Dove Mountain and they put me in a room and went over everything with me- but were missing paperwork for my cat. They asked about vaccinations and I told them what I'd been told by Twin Peaks. When they said he was missing info (I was told with apologies that the reason for the lack of paperwork was that they were short staffed due to illness and hadn't gathered it all yet), I asked them to double and triple check because I had gone into Twin Peaks a month prior to their stay to make sure he had everything administered to him in one appointment. Before I left the office, I asked for a printed quote of my expenses that I would have to pay when I returned. I drove home, and three hours later, received a phone call that I was missing a shot for the cat and needed to pay for both the shot and a tech appointment, which I had to do despite being told for a month that all was well over and over again by their sister clinic. I went on my trip overseas and began getting text messages asking me to confirm an appointment for the cat. I typed YES to confirm the first time, thinking it was for the vaccination shot but then I kept getting them every day asking to confirm an appointment for the cat. I was told that I was being charged to receive these messages, and so I contacted them through their website email. I was concerned that something else might be going on. Was my cat sick? Why was he needing an appointment every day? I received an e-mail back telling me not to worry, that it was just confirming that the cat was staying with them. But, I wasn't receiving one for the dog, who was also staying, so it was odd. The messages kept coming and so I e-mailed again and was told they'd turn off the alerts. Eventually they did stop. I know he meant well, but the caretaker called my local emergency contact to tell them all was well with both pets. However, when I heard from my contact, they told me they'd been contacted and little else so it made me wonder what was going on until I could figure out a 7 hour time difference to reach them. When I returned to pick up my pets, I was shocked that the quote was higher than I believed it to be. With two other clients in the lobby standing there listening to the conversation, I was horrified when the receptionist said that the reason that it was different was because they weren't expecting the cat and I had surprised them when I showed up to drop off two pets!!!!! So...what was the purpose then, of me taking the tour, and asking about my cat's vaccinations repeatedly before dropping them off? Was I being accused of something? This final exchange was the deciding factor for me to write this review. There were just WAY TOO MANY little errors administratively- and between the two vets, a breakdown of communication- for me to ever feel comfortable with leaving my pets with them again. The young man who saw to my pets was very friendly, and I have no doubt he cared for my pets, but when you leave on a trip, it should be a lot smoother experience. Overall, I don't feel enough confidence to do business with them again. I hope if you choose to do business with them, you have a better experience. read more

I was visiting from out of town when my dog developed a weird rash on his back, I was happy that the vet was able to take me same day. I got there and the vet looked at my dog and they were very nice and they gave me antibiotics for what they believed was an infection. I asked them if I could get the written prescription instead and fill it at my personal Pharmacy. They said that was fine and gave me the written prescription. I took the prescription to my Pharmacy to get it filled, my Pharmacy had to call the vet to process the medication because they didn't have the necessary information on the original prescription. In my state to process any prescription they needed a DEA number and license number. Not only did the vet and their Personnel refuse to give me the necessary information or the manager of the pharmacy who called personally but afterwards they said if I really wanted the antibiotic I would have to go to a different vet to get it. So I spent $100 for a exam and office visit and because I didnt want to pay 10 times the cost of the antibiotic at their office and wanted to fill it at the pharmacy I go too they would not give the pharmacy the information needed to process a prescription. They said that they didn't understand why that information was necessary and they will not give it to my Pharmacy. So I spent money to get my dog seen and because the vet wouldn't give my Pharmacy the information they needed they could not fill the prescription and now I have to go to a completely different vet and pay another office visit another consultation and exam to get the exact same prescription because the vet probably isn't a real vet if they were they wouldn't have a problem giving that information to a pharmacy because they would understand that it is necessary and legal protocol in my state.Extremely difficult and rude. The manager at my pharmacy was also stunned at their ignornace of how filling prescriptions work. I don't understand why they think they know what the legal requirements are at a pharmacy especially one out of state. I have filled prescriptions from my vet before for my pets and they are aware of what is required to fill a prescription and I have never had a problem. I am not only shocked but extremely disappointed that I went to a vet that gave me a prescription for my dog who has an infection and they don't care if something happens to him and they don't care that I already spent money to go to them in the first place, don't go to this vet unless you're going to pay for the prescription in their office, which is 10 times higher then at your pharmacy, because if you want to take your prescription somewhere else they will not work with you or your Pharmacy so you will not be able to get your prescription filled Anywhere But Here personally I think they're either doing this because they want to charge you extra and steal your money to or they're not a real vet because they don't have the necessary legal certifications to actually fill prescriptions. I have never dealt with such unprofessional tecs in my life. Never again. Don't go here if you care about your mental health your pet and your wallet. read more
