    CaJJun Swamp Grits

Southern Food in Texas! Came to this restaurant and the menu had so many items that we wanted to try, so we got lot. We got the Gumbo, Mac and cheese, swamp grits, side salad, the palmetto, CAJJUN BOUDAIN EGG ROLLS as appetizers, and two mocktails- the NOLA NOJITO and the HURRICANE WARNING. The portion sizes were really big, the server that we had was so nice and gave us the suggestions about the egg rolls- which I appreciated, those were great. The time we came, it wasn't too packed, but it definitely was busy. The place was real chill, relax place to chill at and get some food. The only fault I had, was the seasoning- it was HIGHLY seasoned, you don't need to add anything else. I definitely drank through so water, but it was good. I'm glad it was not under-seasoned. I want to go back and try their seafood boil!

Saturday night eats didn't disappoint. Our server was polite, attentive and friendly. He gave us menu recommendations and made sure we were good our entire time. The food was so delicious. I really enjoyed the cajun seafood pasta.

How are we expected to eat with cheap plasticware?! A pork chop with flimsy plastic fork and knife? Unbelievable and the reason I won't be returning. Disappointing because I really enjoyed the food, especially the chicken and french toast. The french toast is not toast, but a large beignet. Both were delicious and enough to bring me back despite the service which was pretty non existent. But I can't overlook the plasticware when everything else is glass (plates/glasses).

Recently stopped in for brunch and the French toast is still on my mind!! Their French toast tastes very similar to a funnel cake or beignet and it's simply delicious. It came with fried catfish which was fried to perfection and served with a yummy rémoulade sauce. We also order the shrimp and grits which was packed with flavor and so so good! Our server was friendly and attentive when we needed her. The restaurant is very lively and fun for a night out, birthday celebration or a casual Sunday. Add this to your list if you're in the North Austin area!

I've been here a few times and it's always been a good vibe! The energy is always high and the food is usually good, it can be on the salty side when it comes to the fried seafood, but still tasty. The drinks are good and strong, the service is consistently good and the music is always on point. I look forward to sliding through every chance I get.

We came in for a friend's birthday with a party of 10. Upon entering we noticed the modern decor , a large bar area with a stage near by, a large patio and plenty of seating. Our waitress Kiera was on point, having been a server myself for 10 years I think she did an amazing job on all aspects. Drink menu had a variety of options. I had the gummy bear shot and a friend tried both of the Hennessy drinks which were all delicious! Beer options that were actually in stock k were slim when we came, and they were out of a lot of the foods we tried to order as well, so that was a bit disappointing. 3 of us shared what we ordered and we ended up with the swamp fries 4/5, salmon bites 4/5 and the friend shrimp basket 5/5. Food is a bit pricy but the serving size made up for it. The fry/ batter on the shrimp was perfect as was the flavor. I will defiantly be back to try more of the menu!

We wanted to go on a Saturday night and it was ! We're not crowd people anymore , but people looked like they were really enjoying themselves. We do go on Sundays, and all the menu items have been delicious. To me, it's a little pricey but I'm not paying so.... The drinks are good and STRONG!

The Oakmont has such a great vibe, and I always enjoy the atmosphere, but I do wish they had more veg-friendly options. Since I don't eat eggs or dairy, the menu can feel a bit limiting for me. I recently went for a friend's birthday and ordered a salad, which was tasty, but let's be honest--who really wants a salad for brunch? That said, the vibes are always on point, and the outdoor seating is a nice bonus. Being right off Mass Ave, it's also perfect for a little bar hopping afterward. I just hope they expand their menu to accommodate more plant-based options!

Food was HORRIBLE!!! Everything got sent back but my Sister big ole sweet potato flavored wings. That I wouldn't dare put in my mouth!!!! I ordered the fried pork chops and they came out burnt and the breading falling off. We all ordered salads which were warm and limp. Even though our food experience wasn't good we decided to stay for the vibe. Our table ordered a hookah and happy hour drinks. Happy hour drinks were watered down. But the after happy hour the drinks were good!!!! We started enjoying ourselves and after spending over $300 on drinks they told us they needed our booth, in which no one was there! We WON'T be back!

On our first visit we enjoyed our dinner very much. Our waitress was very kind and communicative. However, one of our plates was slightly broken, and the plastic silverware did throw us off. If you aren't comfortable with others using hookah in the open while you're eating dinner then this wouldn't be the spot for you, but we didn't mind. Will definitely be back to try the infamous brunch menu.

One of the lovely bar tenders recommended this spot as we were looking for a brunch spot that played hip hop, r & b and old school soul music. It was exactly what we were looking for! There is a live DJ playing all of the jams...everyone there including the employees were just vibing and having a good time, even some line dancing! The food really surprised me by how good it was. They were out of catfish but I know it was bomb... I just know it! I had a pork chop breakfast that was seasoned to perfection and tasted my friend's chicken and waffle that was also amazing. When I say I stuffed myself just cause it was that good. It was reasonable priced... good drinks and hookah as well. Hookah was a little pricey and you can only choose premade flavors. Would definitely go back.

I ordered the seafood boil with crab legs. It was horrible. There was no seasoning at all and I was told it would be in spicy garlic butter, however it was like they used the water from boiling the potatoes or corn. I've been 2 other times and the food was great. The hostess were very nice, clean establishment but that seafood boil was a let down.

Glad it did. The menu isn't huge, but honestly that's usually a good sign -- focus on doing a smaller menu really well instead of serving 94 mediocre things and a sad waffle. I ordered the Bad Ass Bacon & Eggs plate. It came with thick-cut bacon, 2 eggs, hash brown casserole, wheat toast, and smoked salsa. Bacon - 9/10 This wasn't your average thin breakfast bacon. Thick-cut, almost pork belly style, with killer flavor and very meaty. Eggs - 9/10 Cooked perfectly and tasted fresh. Simple, but done right. Hash Brown Casserole - 8/10 Different than what I expected, but in a good way. Unique flavor and a great addition to the plate. Salsa - 7/10 Very homemade style salsa with a smoky flavor. Different, but really good. Atmosphere - 9/10 Loved the vibe. Cozy atmosphere, great music, and just an overall comfortable place to sit and enjoy breakfast. If this place was closer to home, I'd eat here often. Service - 10/10 Excellent service. Christy H. was friendly, attentive, and on point the whole time. Overall - 9/10 Definitely a must-try breakfast spot in Austin. They currently have four locations, and after eating here, it's easy to see why.

I asked the employee for their favorite - chicken and waffles - and also ordered Banana Love and Grilled Cheese and Bisque. It was definitely a mix of flavors - sweet, savory, and hearty. The ambiance is upbeat. Playing top 40 type of music, folks are dressed comfortably, and the tables are a bit too close together but can easily to accommodate larger groups. Chicken and waffles. Had this one first. It served more like a main meal. Chicken was juicy, a bit more breading than expected but was easy to take it off. It was served with syrup and some sort of mayo/thousand island type mix. Grilled cheese & bisque. Had this one next. Should've been first because it had more of an appy feel. Waffles were nice and crispy, cheese was perfectly melted. I used the bisque for dipping but the also provided a spoon in case you want to continue on with it. Banana Love. Saved this one a dessert. The Nutella was pretty thick and a bit overpowering. The whipped cream was really good and banana looked and tasted fresh. Overall, very good and will eventually eat my way through the menu. Unfortunately the griddle or pan the eggs were cooked on wasn't cleaned nor seasoned properly bc he took one bite and instantly noticed a "metal flavor" only for us to flip both eggs over and can physically see metal color covering the bottom of both eggs. Super disappointing but we notified the staff and they offered to remake them. Of course my son wasn't trusting and chose not to have them remade. We were refunded $3.50 for the eggs.
