After all these years still a great place to eat lunch downtown if you are near the US bank tower. After covid it is harder to get into this building now that there is only one entrance so don't give up. Used to come here for breakfast sandwiches pre covid and ended up not coming back for 3 years. After 3 years owner still recognized me. Prices have gone up but that is true everywhere. One new addition is a hot lunch bar for 11.99 a pound. A little something different and worth trying out. I had the turkey bacon avocado sandwich and it was very good, the turkey was freshly roasted and they had a good selection of potato chips and drinks, the two gentlemen running the business were very friendly and food prices were very reasonable compared to other similar businesses in the area. This place is run by a lovely older man and his wife. They take pride in the business and it shows. Everything here is better than you'd expect from looking at it. The fresh roasted turkey is delicious and moist. My favorite thing is the thanksgiving sandwich. I love this place. Really nothing more than a counter in the lobby of Big Pink, this place roasts turkey(s) every single day. There's not much to their sandwiches except chunks, I mean chunks of turkey - you can ask for all white meat, too so by and large, it can be rather healthy, too. Every now and then I order a turkey meal which comes with slices of bread, mashed potatoes (likely from a box) and gravy. Unless you like your food swimming in gravy, ask them to go light. Heads up: If your total is under $4, they charge you .50cents for running your card. Find items such as breakfast sandwhiches (bacon, pre-cooked real egg, american cheese, and bacon on an English muffin), a wide selection of lunch sandwhiches (they hand make them to order), bagels, and beverages. I'm a sucker for a good breakfast, and while at Freddie's you obviously won't find a gourmet meal of a foodie's dreams, it's 10x's better than a fast food joint or the pre-packaged food you'd find at Starbucks. Freddie Brown's should be appreciated for what it is. The owners are very nice people, know the regulars by name and what they like to order, and service is very speedy. read more

I feel very lucky this place is just a couple of blocks away. They are my go to place to get a real turkey sandwich. There is always plenty of meat and it is cut fresh off the turkey while you are there. Nothing processed here. You can get it either with white or dark meat; dark for me, thank you very much. Today i having problems with a temporary crown, so I ordered the turkey and rice soup. You can smell the turkey goodness through the covering on the bowl. Now that I have tasted it, this is just good old fashioned turkey soup and I am smiling. This is a small family run place located in Big Pink; it is worth the trip. Do not expect anything fancy here; you just get good food, which brings me to my only complaint. I wish the bread was a bit more whole wheat. Great flavor. read more

I was here yesterday and had a wonderful turkey blt. My only complaint is that the person behind the counter got me to up-sell to include chips but then when I opened my bag, there was already chips with my sandwich? So I ended up with two bags. We go to Freddie Browns every Monday before a meeting and have never had a bad meal. My favorite is their ham and cheese on light rye. I realize that a ham and cheese sandwich doesn't sound that exciting or hard to make great, but after ordering them at many other places I have found that they have the best. The service is fast and very friendly, I am not sure if Sam is the owner but he is always very friendly and helpful. My co-worker loves their chicken teriyaki there as well. Thumbs up! read more

I have gone here dozens of times for coffee and/or a muffin in the morning on my way to work or at breaktime. I have always gotten good service, until today. My debit card was declined for some reason ($4000+ in the account, so no problem funding a $4 purchase), and when I asked the lady to please re-run the card she chuckled and said " not for declined card". This place has the cheapest coffee in the neighborhood - Tully's brand at $1.75 for a large cup. They make great turkey sandwiches with chunks of turkey meat, not deli slices. The owners are super friendly. Big tables with big windows looking out towards the Chinese Garden. read more
