Copy of letter to Owner of this company. A police report has been filed in Napa county. I was on my way home from work at approximately 12:15 am. I was going west bound from Napa to Sonoma county on Highway 121, Carneros Rd. Right after leaving the freeway in Napa there is a stretch of approximately 5-10 miles of construction. Going in to the construction I slowed from 55 mph to 45 mph which was the speed limit. This was a dark stretch of road, a foggy night and due to the construction there was no extra road on the side to make a mistake. It was also a twisty road with many turns. As I slowed to 45 mph one of your large tow trucks designed to haul other trucks got up behind me a lot too close. The truck was so close I could see the red lights from my back light reflect in the metal grills at the front of the truck. I tapped my breaks once to ask the driver to slow down. The driver had to go into the opposite lane to avoid hitting me. This is even though it was a short tap followed by me immediately hitting the gas. At this time the driver flapped his bright lights. I decided to slow down simply because there was no room for error anywhere on the road. It was also a dark road and I was alone with what was obviously an aggressive driver with anger problems in a very large truck. When I slowed down he inched closer and turned on his bright lights permanently, so I slowed down further to be between 30 - 25 mph. At which point your driver passed me illegally while still in the construction zone. As he got back over in the right side lane the back corner of the truck got so close to hitting my car that I had to stop dead in the middle of the road. Your driver then sped away at a speed which looked like 55 - 60 mph. I called your office to report what had happened, and spoke with Brian who said he was the manager. As per Brian he called in the driver to your office and talked to him. Also as per Brian this driver is young and the end result was a drug test plus he cannot drive the tow trucks at this time. Apparently this driver remain in your employ and can drive smaller trucks not for tow. Brian also told me that this is the second time he hears a report of this driver driving recklessly. Does it take an injury for you to take him off the road? Being young is no excuse for being a bully, and that is what this driver was. I would suggest mandatory therapy for the guy, but I suspect that won't happen. At the very least he should not be allowed to have keys to any vehicles larger than a go-cart. read more

One of the Downtown Ignacio Tow Truck drivers nearly t-boned me and my family in the Vintage Oaks parking lot. He was driving reckless leading into the parking lot, made an illegal lane change over double yellow lines, cut through the Costco tire center, ran a stop sign and almost hit us. When my boyfriend approached him to advise him next time he would call the police, the driver said "yeah whatever". He couldn't care less. We did call the owner of he business who said he would speak to him. The owner was understanding and polite, however this company seems to employ dangerous drivers who think of their trucks as weapons. read more

Seriously, great company. I'm so thankful for Fernando. He came to my rescue last night! I was shopping at Safeway with my 7 month old in tow, and we go out to the car and I had a Flat! Every mother's dream, right? Cold groceries, a baby, and a Flat. I called Downtown Ignacio Tow and they were there is less than 10 mins. Fernando put on my spare for me and I was on my way. He was really friendly, and I felt safe with him. And that's huge for me. I'll definately be recommending them. I saw some bad reviews on here, and I don't know what's with that, but I checked it out and they have new mgmt now, perhaps new driver's too? I bought a 2002 Saturn wagon from them yesterday for $800. Before buying I asked Dave if there was anything wrong with the car? I told him I need the car to take my kids to and from school and doctors appointments, he told me there was nothing wrong with the car that it drives and runs well. I did test drive it and it did. After I left I went and got gas and checked the oil it seemed fine. I drove from Novato to San Rafael and on my way back the car started shaking and wouldn't drive over 20 MPH so I stopped checked the fluids again. I put oil and antifreeze in the car and it worked fine. This morning I went to take my daughter to school and it was doing the same thing it did yesterday. So I took it back to Dave he looked at it told me one of the cylinders is not working and told me to take it to a mechanic. I asked for my money back since I have not barely had the car for 24 hours and he said no he sold me a running car and this one is not running. He literally shut the garage door and left me and my 4 year old son standing there. I do NOT recommend anyone go here ever for any reason. HORRIBLE. read more

I called AAA to have my f150 towed back home after the charging system died. When they got there.... After a 2 hour wait, short on trucks the driver said NOPE! it's heavily modified and we don't tow those types of vehicles! My truck has a leveling kit and snow tires, hardly anything modified. this company rates a negative 10 points and if i could i would leave that rating.. please please find another more reputable company for your vehicle needs.!!! this is absolutely the worst towing company that i have every used ( was a service manager for cadillac and gme for over 30 years ) so i have had lots of interaction with some of the best towing companies in california and also some of the worst but these guys top the list!!! my first and last interaction with this company was to purchase a 1 ton dually pickup from them i spoke with ryan last week and got some more information from him about the truck and i told him that i wanted the truck and advised him that i would arrange a ride to get up there and get the truck from him he called me on sunday and verified that i still wanted the truck and i told him that i did and i would be up there on weds. so this morning i called him and advised him that were just leaving and would be there soon ( please note that i live 80 miles away so i took us 3.5 hours to get ther due to traffic) when i arrived at ata towing a very pleasent lady at the front desk spoke with me and told me to wait by the gate to i send my wife to the gate and i went and parked my car when i got over to my wife she told me that the "owner stated the the truck had been sold and that it was first come first servied very rudely and told her to leave the property i called "ryan" again and on this phone call i found out that the person i was speaking with and who had stated that he was "ryan" and he is the owner was infact the owners son. so after being on the road for over 3.5 hours and using $100.00 worth of fuel i left empty handed and disrespected. please please find another towing company for your automotive needs read more

I have been using Downtown for years and have always had "Ok" service, but since the Ownership Change a couple years ago I have had exceprional service. I recently was locked out of my car at work and called Downtown Ignacio Tow and within Minutes I had a driver arrive who unlocked my car, w/out ruining the window seal. I called at 4 pm to have my car towed about 6 miles and they told me 1 hour.I agreed since I had time.then they call me saying it was going to be 90 more minutes n I ended up agreeing to it again.it was until 710 pm when they called me again saying they need 90 more minutes..I ended up callin nave tow n they got there in 15 minutes n had my car ready in 4 minutes.I should of done that in the beginning read more

My vehicle broke down on the San Rafael bridge on Friday. It was towed by Ignacio Tow and I got there early morning to see what was wrong with car. I had until 5pm to pick up the car. I called from my boyfriends car saying I will be there and please don't close on me. I was 3 minutes late. So the bill went up $125.00. I did not have enough money. They were rude and unprofessional to say the least. I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Awful experience Maybe I had a different driver than these others reviewers - he was really unhelpful and rude. He basically told me he had other things to do! Roadside assistance had said the tow truck driver would jump start my car and then if that did not solve the problem he would tow me to the dealer He jump started the car and immediately turned to leave i asked him to wait a minute to see if the car would drive - for some reason the convertible roof still would not close and windows would not close - he said he had to leave. I drove about 20 yards and the car died - I honked my horn and waved at him - he clearly saw me and just drove off. i called on his cell and pleaded with him not to leave me there, and to help me - he said I needed to call my insurance again because he had another call He spent no more than three minutes with me I was astounded I asked for a different tow company and when Nave Towing showed up he said he was pretty sure it was an alternator problem and that the first driver really must have known hat but just didn't want to deal with it.
