Recently, I had a shopping mall accident and the other party wanted to use insurance. My insurance carrier wanted me to use a different company but I wouldn't have it! What a great experience at this auto body shop! I needed some minor bumper repairs and they were able to take the car the same day I first checked in with them. Their estimate was fair and competitive; the time frame they stated was fulfilled exactly as promised, and they even provided me with a free loaner car for the three days they had my vehicle. My car was hit again. There was no doubt I was going to Milani's. Joe Milani has decades of experience, has had a seat on boards to ensure​ structural repairs are safe while providing the highest level of service. Due to circumstance and where my car was hit, there was already damage on the other end of the bumper needing repair. This meant their insurance would only pay for a partial repair which would have resulted in the ​difficult blend. My car is nine years old and matching sun exposed corners with new paint would not be easy. Joe and I came up with a solution and I am beyond happy. In that time, he's repaired damage to 4 vehicles of mine. All of them were finished on time, and completed perfectly. He's worked seamlessly with my Insurance, and the one time we decided to pay out of pocket he gave us a very reasonable price for the quality of work he did. (A 2008 Prius that was sideswiped down the entire passenger side. All four panels and some trim.) We left the car with him while we went on vacation. Best auto body shop that I never experienced. Joe the owner has direct experience in every aspect of the business and knows insurance laws and practices and he will better protect you and your rights than the most insurance companies. Joe is thoughtful, professional, courteous and follows through with impeccable integrity. For example many insurance companies have a clause that they don't use OEM parts, "might be a good Idea to check your policy". My company Progressive Insurance that I will be dropping soon was trying to use non-OEM parts or used parts that would lower the retail value of my low mileage mint condition 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500-HD LTZ Z71 diesel truck, they didn't care, but Joe cares and does not ever cut corners! Joe has a network of people that he has established positive long-term business relationships with and was able to get the GM Chevy dealer to match the non-OEM price!!! My truck came back perfectly repaired and in addition I had Malani's Cut, Polish & Wax my truck and the result was amazing. In the past others including detail shops took short-cuts that covered up the scratches with heavy silicone compounds, etc. and after a few washes the scratches returned. I was rear-ended on the 580 freeway by a speeding, drunk hit-and-run driver who caused substantial damage to the rear left portion of my car and blew out one of the tires. I was driving my brand new, pristine sports car and got broadsided by some teenage girls in a hit and run incident. My driver's side door and rear quarter panel were severely crunched in and my rear wheel was damaged too. This was the very first brand new car I've ever purchased and I was totally bummed that my perfect little "baby" of a car was now ruined. Lame teenagers!! I looked online and then got recommendations from friends in the auto industry... and everything pointed to Milani's Auto Craft. I called there and talked to Joe Milani, the owner, and he was a really down to earth guy who is crazy about cars in the best of ways. He explained that he is an absolute perfectionist and that he offers a lifetime warranty (transferable) on his work. Just what I wanted to hear! The repairs took a little while, but part of that was because of a faulty part he received and had to return which he contacted me about. As noted below, Joe's shop is on State Farm's recommended list and has a good reputation in Marin. He was very accommodating on the schedule and completed the work on time with excellent quality. We discovered a water leak in our 2012 Honda Pilot when the rains first started in November. The floorboard on the driver side got soaked. We first replaced the front windshield - to no avail. Water still leaked after a rain. Took it to our mechanic - no luck finding the source of the leak. Took it to the San Rafael Honda dealership - still no resolution (and they charged us.) They did highly recommend we take our car to Teeters and Schaat. The owner off the bat, on the phone, told us 1. it would cost us $2500, 2. to file a claim, and 3. he would have to hold on the the car for a month because he was busy - but our insurance would get us a loaner. We also brought it to him to see if he actually inspected the car, if it would change anything. Nope, but he did make a point in telling us there was 'black mold' in the car. (Nice trigger word.) If I wasn't sure about feeling manipulated before, that certainly did it for me. LUCKILY, thru a referral, we found Milani's Autocraft. The owner, Joe, was patient, thorough, professional, and no nonsense. Within 24 hours of dropping off the car, he found the leak and fixed it. For just under $500. It just rained again a few days ago. Yes, it's finally fixed. I highly highly recommend Milani's. read more
