The young woman with the accent I spoke with today not only lied about when my prescription was ready, but also lied that she left me a voicemail. This used to be a decent shop to stop In on your way home from work or for items in a pinch. Not any more, they're charging $9+ for eggs, $7+ for oatly, $18 for partners coffee that used to be $13. That's not inflation that's ripping people off when Whole Foods or other grocers are charging way less (even with the newly inflated prices). The worst part is f the signs for prices are wrong and then you go to checkout and the price is even HIGHER! on top of that they won't honor the advertised price. The store has a wide selection of product leaning towards the gourmet and niche market. The problem is that inventory is far too unreliable. On just about any trip I make to the store there will be some items on the list that they are out of stock. The shortage is not simply for their gourmet products. They regularly are out of basics such as 2 liter bottles of soda, toothpaste, toilet paper. And it is not a supply chain problem, as other pharmacies and even bodegas carry these regularly. Prices tend to be higher than other places, though they have a loyalty program that helps offset that ($20 off for every $333 spend, a 6% discount). But the lack of reliable inventory is a real problem. read more

Convenient store if you live in the surrounding apartments, as the name denotes it has a pharmacy, it also has groceries too, with a lot of healthy options especially for children. Where it goes downhill for me though is, if you are BLACK, beware, some of the male staff (to help you point them out - the ones wearing glasses and dark hair) usually decide to follow you around the store "discreetly", all of a sudden they need to stack shelves near you, or decide to check expiry dates on products where you just happen to be standing. I have observed this on way toooooo many occasions for it to be a coincidence, and a few times stopped myself from actually confronting them. I have also observed this when the black kids from the school around the corner come in to the store. But listen to this, the beauty of it, i have seen two white people on different occasions do a bit of shoplifting, but hey maybe you should have been keeping your eyes on them . read more

Drugstore: FANTASTIC!! They are super friendly and always helpful. Grocery Store: I will NEVER buy any food items here again. Walked in to pick something up today, and a shopper had her dog with her, sniffing at the racks...very un-hygienic in a food store. When I asked the staff if they allow dogs, they looked at the dog and said "no" but did nothing about it. At least 4 employees saw the dog. I'm a dog lover and have one at home, but never would I bring to a grocery store. read more

I live in the area and this market used to be my go to until today. The amount of dogs they allow in this store is disturbing there is at least 1-2 dogs in the store every time I go. And it's not little ones nor are they shoppers support animals either. This is a grocery store not a pet store. Yesterday I witnessed a 90lb dog in the fruit area licking the things on the lower shelf, meanwhile both owners were both in the store one could have easily waited outside with the dog. Three weeks before I almost tripped over a leash because the dog was blocking the aisle and again both owners in the store of another large dog not paying attention. I love dogs but I don't bring them food shopping as others may not enjoy being in close quarters with my dog or have a fear of dogs. It's a huge liability if one of these dogs bites a someone or someone falls in the store. What if a dog lifts it legs on the bottom shelves? You will never know if that happens and now I am eating pee fruit. This is supposed to be a grocery store not a kennel. There is a sign right on the door and I don't know why they don't enforce this. I will be going up to Hudson market which specifically polices this and dogs are not allowed in that market. The cashiers don't seem to care when you bring it their attention either. This shows me that no one seems to care about the cleanliness of the store. It's gross. read more

This "Downtown Pharmacy" is surprisingly underrated but miles ahead of the ever so expensive Hudson Greene Market There's a fruits section , a pharmacy , all the regular utilities , groceries sans the vegetables and finally a gift shop which has greeting cards. They do have a membership account as well which gives you much better returns than Hudson Greene (again) Very clean and well maintained as well read more

Not sure why reviewers are mentioning bad staff- I'm in this store almost every day and staff even greets me around the neighborhood! The checkout staff knows me by name and I don't even have to give them my phone number to look up my loyalty account. The loyalty account by the way is terrific- I got my coupons, promo in mail and even a cup of free high-end cold brew over their new tasting Saturdays! I mean, I'm a happy camper at this neighborhood grocery/pharmacy. I used their pharmacy too- got a prompt service and actually good advice from the pharmacist! So: great employees -check, courteous management- check, quality of food -check, clean store - check, always new organic and non-dairy items- check! Pharmacy is great! There is an Asian female pharmacist who is friendly and very helpful. I had a Rx they didn't stock and was not able to ship it in time so she offered to transfer the Rx to a different pharmacy and worked out the authorization for me. For another prescription with a high out of pocket copay, the staff called me to inform me the copay amount and confirmed with me. Friendly pharmacy staff who always pick up the phone. I have been a loyal customer of Downtown Pharmacy for over 4 years. This was my go to place as it was located close to Hudson Street where I worked. A month ago heard that they opened a brand new location next to Zeppelin Hall. So I stopped by on the way home. Got pleasantly surprised. In addition to being brand new, this place is much bigger than the older location that I'm used to. This branch has a pretty good vibe, with house music playing in the background. I also noted that there is a large baby related section. Had to go for the second time as two of my friends recently expanded their families. Got them a basket of baby related goodies that only saw at Sacks Fifth Ave once before. Pretty fancy. While shopping, saw that the pharmacist is licensed to give people shots. Manned up to take that too since going to be around babies. Turns out she has a light touch. Didn't feel a pinch. read more

No idea why people hate on this place. The staff has always been polite, if you join the Downtown club rewards program you get money back all the time, and they have an incredible selection of healthy, organic, non-GMO food and products like Bob's Red Mill, Happy Valley, Mrs. Meyers and Method cleaning products, etc. We get tons of baby stuff here like Seventh Generation and Honest Co. stuff and it's on slightly more than say Target. We lived 2 blocks from here and going to miss it when we move back to the west coast. If I had one complaint, it's that they close early on weekends, around 5pm I believe. Great spot to pick up fresh produce in a pinch as well, lots of cool and unique snacks, cooking supplies, drinks, etc. read more

This location had been my most convenient and favorite pharmacy to use about a year ago. The pharmacy staff were helpful and friendly. NOT ANY MORE! I usually come generally after work and the staff in the pharmacy are not friendly and they are not helpful ... condescending, smug and unnecessarily rude when answering questions. After one visit, I think I will just transfer my prescriptions down the street to the sister location one stop away on the light rail or down the street at the nearest Walgreen's. After a long day of work, I really don't want to deal with nasty miserable attitudes. Beware, it might be convenient place if you live in one of the surrounding buildings, but be ready to be sorely disappointed. BTW ... the grocery part of the location is way overpriced. read more

I'll be sharing two different experiences that I had. On Monday, March 8, 2021, this experience was the worst customer service ever. There were two females at The register one was a redheaded girl and another was a brunette. I waited in line to check out there was at least two people in front of me. The redheaded girl was taking care of a customer when it came to my turn, the brunette rudely told me that the redheaded girl will take care of me because she was busy. I didn't hear her at first so I put my basket down then she raised her voice a little stating that the redheaded will take care of me. As I said OK and grabbed my basket she said never mind I'll take you and rolled her eyes. She told me to unpack my basket and to bag my own stuff as and told me she wouldn't bag my groceries. Then she proceeded to ask if I had a membership, now I'm new to the area so I asked her what was that and she told me to fill it out online and just jumped to tell me my total. I left and told my self I would never come back. As I came to my senses I figured I'd give this place another try. So on March 9 2021 I came back. I grab the basket and grabbed my groceries and I went to check out the redheaded girl was there from the previous day. She greeted me so friendly and offered to bag my groceries and even took out my groceries from the basket for me. She then proceeded to ask me about my membership I asked her what was the membership and she kindly explained it to me I told her I would sign up another time. She told me my total and asked how I would like to pay as I paid she told me to have a great day. I really wish She was my cashier on Monday it would made things a lot easier. I am glad I gave this place second chance because this lady was so friendly I wish I gotten her name. read more

The pharmacy was good until recent - they hired new people and their customer service became horrible. The manager, named David, was rude and tried to make me hard time because of 2 pills I was short. The location was perfect for me, but I was forced to change pharmacy because unprofessional people they recently hired. Great grocery store inside this pharmacy. Carries a wonderful selection for the area since there's no immediate or convenient grocer with comparable products. Definitely quite a bit of excess mark-up on their products, but they can get away with it in my opinion.
