For delivery pizza in Downtown Lake Worth this is one of the best. I've ordered from Downtown pizza a million times and the service is always friendly and the delivery is fast. Pizza is never greasy and the sandwiches are great. They have a pretty decent sized menu with appetizers, salads, pasta dishes, pizza of course and wings. If you walk past the restaurant on a weekend night you will see how popular it is. The inside is very tiny with maybe 6 tables along the wall and a counter to sit at as well. They do have a few tables out front if the weather is nice or you just wanna people watch. I like that if you go on a Friday night the Pelican is open next door for their once a week Indian dinner and it's pretty lively between the two. I usually order delivery but if you do go to the restaurant you can order pizza by the slice. I like having the option to get whatever I want and not having to compromise my toppings when hubs wants all meat and I'm trying to get my veggies in. The wings are hit or miss. I've had some that were out of this world. Crunchy outside, juicy inside and the perfect amount of heat. But there have been a few times when they are a bit soggy and you taste more butter then hot sauce. They have really great prices on draft beer and wine. If this review was based on delivery only it would be 4 stars but for some reason whenever we dine there it's just not as good. I really like that it's always packed though and the servers are super friendly. If your looking for a crowd and pizza is calling your name then Downtown Pizza is the spot to be. This is my favorite place for pizza. Everything on their menu is great. Their rolls and stromboli are big and stuffed with toppings. Their pizza by the slice are actually preprepped with toppings so you're not getting a cheese slice with a couple toppings tossed on like most places. Strictly because of the service and experience I had here I give one star. The man who we dealt with was extremely rude to an unnecessary point. My group went out for drinks and stopped here to grab pizza afterwards. I will continue to explain this experience but it's going to sound like I'm making it up. I assure you I'm not. The wife and I had a late night munchy and as always were around a specific area and were in the mood for pizza. So we headed out to Downtown Pizza because it had a descent amount of reviews. So why not, lets give it a shot... Located in a downtown area of Lake Worth - parking is pretty easy and you can park by the street. They have outside dining as well as inside and reminded me of a New York pizza parlor in a sense. The guys were very nice - told us the type of pizzas they had and told us to have a seat and when the slices were ready they would give them to us. While waiting though, there was a guy in side that was either drunk as a mother or high on some SH*T because homie was passed out on the chair with his leg out. I guess he had been sleeping for about 10 minutes and the guys and waitress told him that he could not stay there any longer because he had fallen asleep for the 2nd time. It took like another 10 minutes for him to finally pay up and leave - but that was already an interesting sight! Our pizzas come out - I had the ham and pineapple and my wife had the cheese. As usual, we add some extra cheese and garlic powder and took our first bite. My wife liked it - but for me, I was more on the "ehh, It's ok - but I have had better" The slice was extremely hot and soggy, I tend to get a nice crunchy slice but nevertheless, was edible. The wife wanted to get a 2nd slice so I thought, let me give them another try and this time order a pepperoni and have them cook it well done (crunchy). In the mean time while we waited for our 2nd slices to come out, some commotion was going on outside which looked like a fight was about to break out... basically some bystanders were bothering some people that were eating or about to eat and told them to keep walking before things escalated... By that point, I just wanted my pizza to come out - eat it and head on home... This is the best NY style pizza around, no question. This is coming from someone whose family was in the pizza business in NY and FL for 50 years. I'm familiar with the ingredients they use and they're the best you can get. It's laughable that a reviewer would even compare this to frozen pizza. Everyone has their own preferences and opinions about what pizza should taste like, if you don't enjoy this pizza then you most likely don't enjoy any NY style pizza. They're always busy and everyone there is friendly, service is always quick. I wanted some pizza for the first night at my new apartment, so I decided to order delivery from Downtown Pizza. Overall, it was a good, but not great experience. The delivery was very fast. Definitely under 30 minutes. Props for that. I had a large pizza with spinach and broccoli. The pizza was very good, but it wasn't amazing or anything. I've definitely had better, but I've certainly had worse too. I'd say that the quality was above average. It was executed well, just not as well as some others. For this pizza, I paid $20, which includes a tip. I'm fine paying $20 for a pizza, but it had better better be top-notch. This pizza was not top notch. The value just didn't match up. The quality was most definitely better than chain places, but if I had to choose between paying $10 to $12 for a decent chain pizza or paying $20 for this above average pizza, I'd select the chain place almost every time. I'd say this was a slightly below average value. The biggest problem for me was the lack of a side of ranch, which I clearly asked for on the phone. They also didn't give me a menu, which will make it annoying to order from them in the future. I feel like any decent delivery place should give a menu to new customers. That's how you get people to order again in the future. It just kind of strikes me like they don't really care. Giving this place a rating is difficult. Ideally, it would be a 7/10, so I'm very torn between 3 and 4 stars. It's honestly very close. One of the harder decisions I've had to make on Yelp. Sometimes, I round up, but in this case, I'm rounding down. This pizza joint is simply not on par with a 4 star establishment, but it very well could be. If the pizza was just a little bit better, if they slightly lowered their prices or if they just hadn't forgotten my freaking ranch dressing, Downtown Pizza would probably receive 4 stars. So place is definitely NY Style. Huge thin crusted slices are exactly what you'd expect from any Manhattan street-side walk-up pizza joint. If your just Jones'n for NYStyle slices , this might be a great choice (might be I say cause I'm not from here and therefore have no other points of reference). In terms of how good of a NYStyle pizza, I guess that's open to interpretation. The Pie I had was perfectly cooked and clearly the staff cares about what comes out of the oven. I had Pepperoni, Tomato, extra sauce... which if you know about having a pizza with extra sauce, you know it's easily screwed up but they got it right... no soggy crust here. Unfortunately, while cooked perfectly, even with all the crushed red pepper & grated cheese I threw on it, it was a bit bland. The sauce itself just wasn't seasoned all that well... I think had I put some salt on it, that would have helped. Anyway, I love what these guys are doing here, even if I did think the pizza was more bland than I prefer. read more

I know it's the super bowl and it's very busy, but the girl on the phone didn't seem to busy (I wasn't put on hold). I double checked to make sure the order was correct. She even made sure I didn't want blue cheese so it wouldn't go to waste! I received naked, unseasoned wings with sauce on the side that were so overdone that I couldn't eat them (ask my wife, I will eat ANYTHING). No ranch, only blue cheese. And she forgot my beer.
