I was actually really excited for our order today because I love Dairy Queen, but the service was awful.. I got my sister to download the app because they're doing a promo where you get 50% off your order so we got food for the whole family. She got herself a chili cheese dog combo, and I got myself, my partner and my daughter each a four piece chicken tender combo, and my sister also ordered onion rings and cheese curds. So all in all, that's a lot of food... an older woman with blonde hair, opened up the window and passed me a carrier for all of our drinks, a small bag that had onion rings in it, and then EVERYTHING ELSE we ordered was in one bag so what happened when I tried to grab the bag? It ripped from being overfilled, and all our food fell on the ground. It wouldn't have even been a big deal. I would've happily just sat there and waited for our food to be remade, but then the woman was just super nasty about it. She yelled out "well she dropped the food" while having the nastiest look on her face and then slammed the window shut and proceeds to come outside and start picking up the food off the ground and then stormed off, throwing it into a garbage can without saying anything to us then goes back inside and opens up the window with still a nasty attitude and was like "well you're going to have to pull up while we remake ALL your food" and then tries to slam the window again. So I loudly said "well maybe if you didn't fill the bag up so full" and the manager yells "WHAT WAS THAT" as I'm already pulling up, so then she comes outside and is like "I'm just canceling your order" and I'm like "ok but she was really rude to me, why can't you just remake my food? " and my sister is like "I don't want to wait 5 days for my money to be returned.." and the manager says " I didn't hear her being rude to you. All I heard was you guys being rude and you'll get your money back in three days" and then stormed back inside.. the whole experience was just embarrassing, super hostile and rude, and we ended up having to go spend another $30 somewhere else to eat lunch. I was ok with him messing up my order, but then to lie straight to my face and tell me an item isn't available as a combo when it clearly says "combo" on the menu, just because you don't know how to fix it, isn't ok. Then, instead of ringing me up for the drink and fries, the lead or manager on duty voided the whole order and recharged me again. And then...the new kid forgot to add an extra sauce, so the same manager tried to void the order again just to add the sauce!!! It's a sauce! You screwed up twice already! Just give it to the customer! To add insult to injury, she screwed up my ice cream too. I'm over bad service. Stopped by for some ice cream. No wait, very well staffed and kind young men working. They remade my ice cream no problem bc I didn't know it had chocolate syrup which I didn't want. I've been patronizing this DQ location for years and always had a pleasant experience. Located right on Kingsley Ave next to the library, the customer service has always been great whether I've dined-in or drove-thru. I just know this DQ has been here forever... I love their burgers and fries and prefer to eat-in when I order savory just because it's actually a nice spot to chill and there is outside seating. It's pretty convenient to do their drive-thru and pick-up a large Blizzard complete with a staffer executing the Upside Down or Free Blizzard Rule (that always catches me by surprise - smh). And if you go, Dairy Queen's Summer Blizzard menu is now available. I like to at least try seasonal and limited-time menu specials while they are available. This last visit, I opted for a large Summer Berry Cheesecake Blizzard where they add real raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries along with cheesecake pieces to vanilla soft serve. Oh wow....COLD berries! Hmmmm... And while I enjoyed the flavors, the temperature and texture of the cold berries paired with the giant chunks of cheesecake pieces in a blueberry-infused base wasn't the best feeling on my teeth. The place has kept updated and is usually very clean.
