Okay so in my previous review I mentioned that drive-thru was usually okay. Turns out it isn't. The service here is beyond slow, and that's now seriously affecting the drive-thru. Corporate told me to give this DQ another try. Well, we did. We placed a mobile order, and I was about to go inside to get it when someone came to the locked door and told me that despite what the app had said, I'd need to pick up via the drive thru. The line for which was about ten cars long. We got in the drive-thru at 11:30pm and after an HOUR wait, we finally drove off with a mobile order that was scheduled for pickup when we had arrived. And surprise! The order was wrong. Items that we had requested to be customized were not, and dipping sauces for chicken tenders were nowhere to be found. Joke's on me for driving away before thoroughly inspecting everything I guess. So there. I gave the place one last shot, corporate. Nothing was fixed. If anything, things were worse. I just wish they'd tear this place down if they can't operate it like a functioning DQ. At this point all this place is doing is tricking customers into pulling over only to serve them with the worst fast-casual restaurant experience Monroe County has to offer. I don't eat fast food very often and this completely reminds me why. Came here on a weekday evening with a small group. Tried to use my app for ordering and was instructed incorrectly so could not use the deal at all. Prices have gone way up (I remember the $5 fill up boxes of my childhood) and quality has gone way down. I paid around $10 for a chicken strip sandwich and it was the most pitiful thing I had seen. There were a few nuggets (not strips in the middle of some bread and there was no sauce. It was pretty darn bad and for the same $10, I think a different fast food place would have hit the spot. Drive thru is always backed up because they basically take one order every 10 minutes and just have you sitting waiting to order. I've been sitting at the drive thru for 13 minutes. I'm trapped in line between cars. This is ridiculous.

Had the absolute worst experience here today; went into the restaurant for lunch and there was only one person who seemed to be doing anything; then we noticed that there were 2 gentlemen standing in front of the drink machine-apparently the Freestyle machine was out of literally every single drink that was listed on the machine: to add insult to injury, the machine didn't even have ice in it!!!! How can you open up a restaurant for the day without checking to make you had all of the proper items available for your customers? The worker(whose name was Sara) offered to get the drinks from the drink machine available for people going through the drive thru-you mean to tell me that you made sure that the drive thru customers were able to get their soft drinks, but the dining room customers couldn't??? I'm not even sure that there was a manager working because I only saw 3 people who looked like they worked there....not to mention that I didn't even get a lot of fries with my meal....I get more fries at McDonald's than I got today....probably going to be quite a long time before I set foot in that place again....hire people who actually want to work for a paycheck, not people who are just looking for a "cool place" to hang out at for a few hours read more

Normally I like Dairy Queen and have good food from there but at the Jefferson Rd location today my shake wasn't good but my pretzels were fine. I ordered an extra fudgey shake and it looked pale but I didn't have time to return it. It tasted like vanilla. It was beige so they must have put a bit of chocolate in. The pretzels were hot and the cheese sauce was included. The cashier was very nice and the order was fast even though it was busy. I will still try again because I do like the pretzels and fried cheese. They just need to pay closer attention to orders for additions. read more

Went through drive through. After receiving my blizzard & shake & waiting 3 minutes at the window, was told to "pull ahead and we'll bring out your food." I did as asked, and waited for 12 min. In the meantime, I watched the car behind me receive a bag, go through the bag and hand it back. They then received 2 new bags and drove off. I pulled around and parked. Parking lot and sidewalk were solid ice. I saw someone fall (they said they were ok), and I went inside. I waited another 3-4 minutes before asking someone working in the drive through area about my food. She said "We're waiting on your cheese curds". For the record, I was polite & kind. A few min later, I was handed my food. No one apologized. I got home 10 min later. My food was cold. Clearly, it had been sitting. Most likely, they gave my bag to the car behind me them forgot about me. Never again. A friend of mine mentioned they had a similar experience at this DQ, so I don't believe it's a one-off. read more

The roar of the greasepaint, the smell of the crowd. Ahhh... nothing says "Henrietta" more than a mad throng of folks crowding into a new restaurant. Henrietta, NY IS the franchise Mecca of Monroe County. The first stop (and, also the last stop) for vast array of restaurants. "If you can make it there, you'll make it anywhere..." Okay, so coming on the heels of the Buff-Mex Mighty Taco Henrietta is now home to Dairy Queen's new flagship store concept, the Dairy Queen Grill & Chill (not to be confused with the superb Chill & Grill in Palmyra). Since opening, the G&C has been operating full tilt... so I waited a week & a half to try them out. I went inside & found the line surprisingly short . The counter help was prompt & alert. Took my order and gave me correct change (a plus these days!). I took my number and went to my table and promptly received my order. So far, so good. Now for the bad news; the food! My burger was dry and cold. Nowhere near the quality of Don's Original, Bill Gray's, Tom Wahl's or the near empty Five Guys located across the plaza. My burger was paired with some incredibly off-tasting Onion rings. Not good. Blechh! The Onion Rings had a bad after taste... and were colder than my burger. I suspect that they hadn't changed their cooking oil in a while. Not a good sign. After eating I still had a bad taste in my mouth & decided to order an Ice Cream. I've always liked DQ's Ice Cream so I ordered a small Dip cone. It was then where I experienced one of the downsides to the Grill & Chill. Pickup is very Keystone Cops-ish... between the throng of customers waiting for carry out and the employees scurrying to and from processing orders it is very chaotic. By the time I received my cone it was already melting. However, the taste of the cone helped erase the bad onion ring flavor on my tongue... hence the upgrade from one star to two. My advice? Skip the food for now... get a slice from Joe's Brooklyn or a burger from Five Guys and walk over to DQ for a cone. I made my first trip to Dairy Queen ever today to finally try a Blizzard. I've driven past the Henrietta location a ton of times but was always on my way elsewhere. The location also is kind of tucked behind in a plaza, so I never bothered to seek it out. Anyway, decided to finally try because I was craving ice cream. I got the Honey BBQ Glazed chicken basket with fries and a Butterfinger Blizzard. The chicken strips were the best part, they were nice and crispy with just the right amount of sauce. The four piece was more than enough to fill me up. The fries were just okay; I would have preferred that they were a bit crispier. The Blizzard was underwhelming. I expected the ice cream to be Frosty-like thickness based on the commercials and all the ads showing them being held upside down, but it was much thinner than I expected. There were a ton of Butterfinger bits mixed in and they were delicious, but I guess I just expected a richer, creamier ice cream than what I got. It was not busy when I visited but the staff was still very friendly and attentive. Now that I know what the expect from DQ, I'll probably go back if I'm craving a specific item, but I don't feel I have to return any time soon. read more

What's the best way to celebrate a win? Ice cream! After my nephew's game, I Yelped a nearby sweet spot and DQ popped up. We heard about the blizzard hype so we each ordered small blizzards from different categories. There are four categories (cookie lovers, candy cravers, fruit fans, and chocoholics) with five to six different blizzards within each. We chose the Oreo Cheesequake (cookie lovers), Hawaiian (fruit fans), and the Turtle Pecan Cluster (chocoholics). I ordered the Hawaiian, which was soft vanilla ice cream with pineapple, banana, and roasted coconut. I've had sundaes similar to this and what a delight with the slight change to roasted coconut. I thought it brought out the coconut flavor more and I really enjoyed the added crunch. I had a small bite of the Oreo Cheesequake and it's exactly as the name, oreos plus cheesecake chunks. It's not bad, but it's too rich for me. If I'm in the neighborhood and my sweet tooth kicks in, DQ would be an option. read more

If you try really hard, you can think back to the time and remember how horrible it was when we had no Dairy Queen in our area! I remember it well, and used to stop at DQ anytime I was near Niagara Falls just to get my Blizzard fix. I used to live in another state that had plentiful DQ locations, so moving here was harsh! So, it's no surprise that I was one of the people that waited in a line that wrapped around outside the building when this location opened. :) I've been here countless times (probably way too many times), and I've really never had a complaint. It's a fast food restaurant, so my expectations are not much higher than ordering my ice cream and getting the correct thing fairly quickly. The days of the drive thru line being longer than the parking lot seem to be over, which is nice. I don't eat much of the food, except for pretzel sticks a few times, which are good. The crown jewel at Dairy Queen is obviously the ice cream, and the Blizzard specifically. Mint Oreo is my favorite, but I've tried several, and they're always yummy, and served upside down thick. From moving here I learned that the world needs more Dairy Queens. I'm glad that we have some now. :) read more

if i could this experience less than one star i would. i don't usually leave reviews but i had to for this one. we ordered thru the drive thru, everything seemed to be going smoothly. then we reached the window where we were stared at for a good 30 seconds before the employee opened the window. she then proceeded to say "who are you?" and i thought maybe she just meant what did i get? so i explained what we had just ordered. i was met with silence for another 30 seconds. i just stared in hopes that she would say something, but when she finally did, she said, "you guys have to leave." she was so serious i almost started crying. i asked her what she meant and we just stared at each other in another lapse of silence. she must have been hoping that we would just drive away so she didn't have to fulfill our order. but i didnt want to leave because we were hungry. so i waited and she finally said "just kidding. i was joking." and we were stunned. we awkwardly laughed and got our food and were left feeling so uncomfortable and anxious. it was not a good experience and the vibes from this employee were so off. i hope she doesn't do this to anyone else because it was so uncomfortable in the moment. read more

I hate to have to rate dq bad but this is the worst location I have ever been to. I have gone multiple times just to give 2nd, 3rd and 4th chances and I've decided I'm officially done. Every single time I have gone my blizzard has never been correct. Something is always missing or a wrong base. There is no where to wait . (You will have to wait awhile) It gets overcrowded fast with customers waiting with doordashers. Tonight I waited over 30 minutes for one medium blizzard. 6 groups of ppl received there ice cream before me that were after me. Even a huge family group with over 10 people. When I eventually got my blizzard there were no gummy worms . I was so over this location I did not even tell them because I knew I would have to wait even longer. Which I did not have the time. Not impressed. The burgers were over cook, skinny hockey pucks. The bun is WAY to large for the burger itself. Also the bacon was cheap and skimpy. Onion rings were extremely over cooked. I don't understand this place. We waited online from 10:50am to 11am. You sit down and wait forever for your food. I got up to check on it and see it sitting under the the heat lamps.
