Dairy Queen is Dairy Queen has been for a million years if you expect anything more don't go. Although with that said I do feel the quality has slipped a little like everywhere else. I'm giving my last trip to DQ in Ipswich 2 stars because it was pretty messy both inside and out....bordering on dirty but not long term. Both product and napkins covered the floor. Outside it had been quite awhile since tables were wiped down. I observed plenty of workers....all young kids...doing the job but a few standing around. I honestly can't remember the last time I went to any Dairy Queen but growing up this was my go to one as it was relatively close. My mother is obsessed with their hot dogs and as she's going through cancer we try to go out of our way to get her foods she likes and wants to eat so we stopped on a Wednesday afternoon. The parking lot was packed but I have no idea where all the people were who went with the cars as I counted maybe 4 total outside and then one inside. I wonder if they park and walk to Crane's Beach which seems kind of far but who knows with restrictions and parking these days. They have a lot of Blizzard and shake flavors. We got the two hot dogs and had to say twice that we did not want the meal which had a drink and chips. The woman serving us seemed a bit surprised that we didn't want chips. We were lured in by the pictures of the Blizzards and ended up getting a small Oreo cheesecake Blizzard. And no, they did not hold it upside down for us before handing it over. Bummer. It was really hot out and already melting inside so I doubt that would have worked. The flavor was just meh. The chunks of cheese were sort of gross and didn't really work well in an ice cream mixture. I don't think I'd buy a Blizzard again. We also got my mother a Tiramisu shake. I might order a shake next time as they had a ton of interesting flavors. She reported that the shake just tasted like vanilla and she wouldn't have known it was Tiramisu but she loved it so I guess that's a win. So the place was clean and actually seems either fairly new, or renovated. Service was quick. Chilli cheese dog: cheese wasn't melted. Even though the whole thing was tossed in the microwave. The chilli was bland and the hot, well, didn't taste terrible I guess. So I had heard this ancient legend of the 'Orange Julius.' I had never had it before, only knowing it to be a product of the 1980's. Made it a point to buy. What is so special about this drink? It was mediocre, overly sweet, and had an odd aftertaste. I'm gonna blame this drinks popularity on the fact that it was a product of the 80's, like New Coke. Excited to try, a little disappointed in the experience, but moving onto new things. YES! What Yelp fails to mention in this business name is that this DQ is also an ORANGE JULIUS. I freakin' love that place. Not only can you get cheesy hot dogs, soda, ice cream cakes, and dipped cones here, but you can also enjoy the orange, piña colada, or-- my personal favorite-- strawberry banana julius. Ok... so I did t know but DQ doesn't have much for food anymore... just hot dogs. That was fine they were good. I got the 6 buck lunch which came with two chili dogs and drink, chips and a sundae (but I upgraded to the blizzard). Got two more plain hot dogs for the kids... ask for ketchup and mustard on the side. The employee told me they DONT HAVE PACKETs?! Really? Don't be fooled. A Buster Bar Blizzard is nowhere near as good as a good old fashioned Buster Bar. I found that out for myself yesterday, after asking the recommendation of the girl behind the counter. Litterally want to give 0 stars but this app doesn't allow that. The girls working were so rude and unprofessional. They made my friend and I feel so uncomfortable and disrespected. They acted as if they didn't want us in there. There friends then came in and we're staring and laughing at us. As a fellow service worker this kind of behavior would be unacceptable where I work. I could hear them as they were making my ice cream, which took a while when we were the only people in there and I only ordered a chocolate soft serve, were talking and laughing while looking directly at us. Doors were locked and the employees 5 feet away would not even look at us to tell us they had closed early. Worst DQ we have every been too and I dont think they use the same quality of ice cream that most DQ use , that why they dont do the tip it upside down dest. My ice cream tasted icy not creamy. We got there about 730pm with only 3 people in front of us and we didn't get our ice cream until 8pm and they were running a special that started at 8pm and the 3 girls working new nothing about it. Three stars solely because it's Dairy Queen and, thus, inherently awesome. However, I don't know if this is a pan-DQ issue but where the hell are the peanut butter cups? That's my favorite Blizzard option and they didn't have any. When I asked about the absence of peanut butter cups I was given the option of 'liquid peanut butter' that can be put in anything. What? I went in last Sunday after a long day out and about with my kids. It was very warm for September so we thought we would treat the kids to a nice ice cream to cool them down. Let me just say when we opened the door we were greeted by a very happy and bombastic young male worker. He was very social and really helped me and my family out. My son wanted whipped cream on his blizzard and the dairy queen in our area always charges for that, but when we got rang up and it was cheaper than normal I was surprised. He hadn't charged us for the whipped cream and cherry. Being a single mother I really appreciated that gesture because money is at an all time low. I will definitely be going back to the Ipswich location to see that cute boy again. read more

yikes. the bf and I were visiting friends in the area when we stopped to pick up some ice cream on the way for everyone. we ordered a "classic dog meal" for the bf and five mint oreo blizzards. We waited about five minutes and we thought we were on a hidden camera show when we saw what we got. my fiance did not get his classic dog, he got a "classic combo" which the girl insisted he ordered... right. When she said she'd make a hot dog too, he was so annoyed he just said forget it. When the ice creams were brought over by the other girl they were dripping as if they'd been sitting in the hot sun while they were being made. Also two of the "mint oreo" blizzards we got were green (like they should be) and the other three were white..... By the time we actually got to our friends place, they were so melted that they were basically shakes and there was no need for the spoons we were given. Needless to say the bf didn't eat the disgusting microwaved combo meal he was given and our ice creams were a complete failure. avoid. read more
