    Small dipped cone $2.99
    Tricia D.

Yaassss! Is there more to life than a vanilla dipped in chocolate cone here at Dairy Queen? As someone who's had 7 of them in the span of 3 weeks (ok, that's not as many as I thought the count was; also, don't judge me... ok, you can; it's a free country), I don't really think there is. DQ is a triple threat: value, size, and taste! I've paid anywhere from $2.54-$3.72 (it's $2.99 here) for a small cone depending on the location, but every penny was worth it! The most generous "small" was definitely at this location, and the creamy and smooth soft serve was also shaped in the most eye appealing fashion. A small at DQ is easily what a medium would be at say Glenview's local Dairy Bar. Mmm, and that paper wrapping on the cone is sure right: always imitated, never duplicated. The body and thickness of the soft serve, along with the dairy flavor, cannot be beat!

    Medium dipped cone.

First time at Rep's today and here are some of my thoughts:…read more --The place is clean, looks new, service was friendly. --You order at the front desk and they call your name when it's ready--very fast, but quiet during the weekday lunch hour. --I ordered the original smasher meal, includes waffle fries and a fountain drink, all for about $15. --You get a lot of fries--they were fresh, hot, and good, plenty of salt. --The smashburger was good. Highlight was the cheese and the pickles. If you like a good cheeseburger, you'll love Rep's smashburger! Overall, good. I've tasted better smashburgers and better buns. This feels like a fast food version of the smashburger.

Always excited to see a new non-chain restaurant! Rep's took over the old Arby's location, and…read moreretained their drive thru, which I love to see. Reps is a smash burger place first and foremost. The only other food they have is a fried chicken sandwich and fries. They additionally have drinks, shakes, and alcohol. Typically, in my experience, places with such small menus have very good food. They need to be confident in their limited offerings enough to run a business off of just those items. I ordered one of their burgers, and even though all the employees were new, they were fairly quick in getting the food out. There are some things about their menu that I don't like and find confusing. Everything on the menu appears to be priced well except the burgers. This is because they do not include any toppings other than cheese and a side of 3 optional small pickles to put on the burger. All other toppings (lettuce, tomato, onion, etc) are SOLD SEPERATELY. If I am buying a $9 burger, and you think it is good without toppings, I understand not putting them on the burger, but if someone asks for it, it shouldn't be extra. Once we get past the menu and on to the food itself, I find that Rep's is very correct. The burger, nicely smashed and caramelized, complete with it's cheese and (optional) pickles, needs no other sauce or topping. It is very flavorful, and paired with a nice brioche bun. It really is delicious! The problem is, without any of the extra toppings, it is kind of a small burger for $9. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't need those extra toppings one bit. In fact, after eating it with just the (optional) pickles, I don't think I would want to add anything, but this does make it less filling. So although this won't be an economical place to go if you are super hungry, it is a great place to go for a delicious smash burger. I wish them the best and will be back to try their Big Bad Bird chicken sandwich which sounds amazing!

I was scrolling through Uber Eats and I've seen this restaurant come up as a suggestion several times. Well being that I didn't want anything from the usual fast food options, I decided to give them a chance today. I am overjoyed that I did! The burgers were absolutely delicious & the fries were both crispy and fluffy, with just the right amount of seasoning on them! Nothing is worse than an overseasoned fry. Okay well some things are but you get my point. I did two separate build your own burgers. One for my mom who likes the rabbit food on her burgers, and one for me who wants meat cheese and all the deliciousness! She absolutely devoured hers and loved it and mine was absolutely fantastic. Pure deliciousness! I'm already ready to order from here again tomorrow! The food was fast, fresh, and hot so as far as I'm concerned the service if we went here would be fantastic too! I can't speak to the Ambiance yet because we've only had it delivered but based off the food I would say it's got to be very clean and orderly. I will definitely be getting the burger with the egg on it next time! They are competitively priced as well, especially given that your fries or chosen side are included in the price! Definitely give this place a try if you're near one of their locations I promise you won't be disappointed!

For the hand-cut meats, we tried the brisket and pulled pork. Both were incredibly tender, smoky, and practically melted in your mouth. We also ordered the cornbread and mac and cheese, and both were standout sides. The cornbread was huge, dense, and still perfectly moist. I was a little worried the mac and cheese would be too spicy because of the Hot Cheetos, but it actually had just the right amount of kick. The combination of creamy mac and crunchy Cheetos made it extra flavorful. To finish the meal, we shared a burger, and wow , it was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. You do have to order at the counter, but the staff was super friendly and helpful. They gave us great recommendations on which meats to try, which made the experience even better.

This is a really rare opportunity, so I'm not sure I'll ever see it again. Amazing!! For an opener we enjoyed the Char Siu Pig Wings, a really unique take on the chicken wing - sweet, spicy and perfectly cooked. Then it was on to the brisket, St Louis style ribs and some of the best and most interesting sides I've had in a long time. The Sticky Sprouts had the same flavor profile as the Pig Wings, unique and tasty. The mac and cheese was dusted with crushed Flaming Hot Cheetos and the fried green tomatoes were really good too. I didn't have any stomach room left for dessert. I'll have to try the candied bacon n the next time I eat here, which I hope is really soon. And, I was granted a special high kick in celebration of my bday! The staff made my night really special.

And Baker's Square closed YEARS ago in SoCal. Missed their pies and baked goods! So imagine my (pleasant) surprise when I found this little place in Palatine! I decided to head there for a brekky on a cool May morning. Stepped in, saw all the breads, pastries, and pies along the front counters- wow. I was greeted warmly and seated instantly. My waitress came right away, and I ordered unleaded (decaf for those in the know). It came in a little pot, ala IHOP, and was really, really GOOD. Wow. Decaf has come a long ways from the Sanka days! I ordered the INN-CREDIBLE V.I.B. which allowed me to order 4 yummy items of my choice - I chose the french toast (yummy and spiced just right albeit w/room temp syrup- not a deal-breaker but notable), a strawberry crepe (totally awesome strawberries, but the crepe was a bit colder than expected); scrambled eggs (always a nice stalwart) and two turkey sausage links (as with the frenchie above, nicely flavored!). The ambience was modern, updated, and felt welcoming and (thankfully) a bit familiar. Brought back some good ol' memories even if only the Baker's Square part of the menu was just pies nowadays. But the Village Inn lives on! And that counts - and I'll return. You should check it out too if you enjoy a good brekky at a classic American diner!
