I waited and waited and watch three teens stand around and do nothing. Walked inside and said I had a curbside order. Response didn't hear you ring bell (pointing at bell on counter). Super confused as I was not supposed to have to walk inside. I pointed that out and the response was "did get notified you had arrived". I have been to this location several times and always been greeted promptly and kindly. I was born and raised in Philadelphia and consequently feel I'm an expert on cheesesteaks. My friend Danny and I chose to eat at this location out of the blue, actually... ha ha ha scratch that, we were really hungry. However, when entering the restaurant I expected poor customer service, but was pleasantly surprised. This is a protest review. Two times in a row now, this location has had problems with bread. Last time, no white bread. Okay, not a deal-breaker but a little surprised considering they are a sandwich shop. This evening at around 6:30, no bread. You heard it right, no bread. The people in front of me got bread, I'm the lucky sucker when they ran out, AT 6:30. C'mon folks, you are a SANDWICH SHOP. Oh yeah, about two months ago, they sent me home with one wrong sandwich out of four. Of course it was mine. Instead of a giant cheesesteak, I got a mini turkey for a kid. Bar none the best fast food sandwich place. They have both hot and cold subs, both can be made into wraps. They slice the meat and cheese when you order to ensure the freshest possible Sandwich. They offer three sizes, mini, regular and giant. I like that they offer a smaller sub because I don't like to eat a huge sandwich all the time and this way I can get something that is more my speed. They offer a variety of toppings. Some might not be at the counter but you can ask. They don't offer green pepper in 'mikes way' but it's offered if you ask, they will put some one for you. Used Jersey Mike's in Lake Zurich for an outdoor catering event for 45 people. Needed something individually boxed during COVID, and Maddy was terrific! She gave us alternatives to cookies since we were providing a separate dessert and when we picked up the boxes, she had them all labeled as to what kind of sandwich was inside (along with chips and pickles)! At pickup, we thought the sandwiches were just going to be bagged according to sandwich type. The labels were a nice surprise and really helped out when serving. If I could give this place 0 starts I would. A few weeks ago I went to this place for dinner. My husband ordered me a veggie sandwich with everything on it. I am not sure what drugs the girl was on that made my sandwich. When I took a bite it was absolutely disgusting. It had cheese and veggies on dry bread and tons of vinegar. No oil, no spices, no mayo. It was a dry and extremely sour sandwich. My husband told me he will go and ask for condiments but I told him no its not worth it. If this teen can make a sandwich like this then this place does not deserve me coming back again. I ate a few veggies and cheese and threw away dry bread soaked with vinegar. Not sure what I have done to this teen girl. I did not even order the sandwich I was in the bathroom washing my hands and my husband ordered but she must have really hated me to give me a sandwich like that. I went in today for the first time, and what a disappointment. First, of all, I went in to get my children lunch for a special parent/child lunch at school. I went in, I usually get them subway kids meals because they want meatball subs, I was trying to avoid subway so I decided to try something new. They did not have meatballs in the kids meal so I ended up getting a large sub for them to split (it was $13.00,wow!!) I got over the sticker shock and purchased it. I myself got a mini veggie sub. I grabbed them two Gatorade and chips and checked out, $29.00 later. I get to the kids school and my children begin to eat and I look down and notice mold on their sandwich. Really??? Really???? A 13 dollar sub!!!! My children ended up getting school lunch and I had my veggie sandwich, which was okay. After, I left the school, I went back to the location and told them. The girl that I walked up to and pulled aside to be polite and not speak in front of customers was so rude upon my hello with my bad in hand. She basically called me a liar because she said that she did all the "white breads" today and didn't see mold. So I pulled out the sand which and proved her wrong!! She walked away and another girl came out and apologized and handed me two free sub coupons. I wasn't trying to get anything free, I was just trying to let them know and the first girl was just rude. My $9.00 6" sub from Lake Zurich Jersey Mike's was over priced and poor quality. The provolone slice was literally paper thin, the meat was ok but then it was piled high with lettuce and onion. The bread was dried out and flaked apart and there was a very faint flavor of vinegar & oil, barely worth mentioning. Every time I'm there the girls behind the counter are very nice and polite and even go out of their way to make small talk. We went in right before closing one night and still they were nice. Subs are very overpriced! I order regular size ham sub (just bread and ham - with no cheese or fixins/veggies) and they charge over $7. The staff all have a horrible attitude. Management needs to to train in politeness! I also hate that my sandwich is usually cross-contaminated with someone else's oil and vinegar from the unwiped counter and food gloves - maybe the sandwiches could at least be placed on the wrapping paper after meat/cheese is placed on the bread to keep the counter and other people's sandwiches clean?
