I called David because I found his website, he was very experienced and also close to us. He arrived in an hour set traps and always came back to tend them. He even called me once before I could call him to ask whether we had caught a squirrel. Sure enough we did and seven squirrels later we were were finally finished. I have to say the whole event was as painless as it could be and David couldn't have been more of a professional, I highly recommend his services. I have never written a Yelp review until I dealt with this company. Found their website while searching to see if the county handles raccoons. In a deceptive way, they make their operation seem like it's a part of Nassau County. The header on their website says NASSAU COUNTY WILDLIFE CONTROL, not DQ PEST CONTROL. You have to scroll below the fold to see it's a private company. When I was told the charge was $85 to remove a raccoon, thinking it was the county, I asked, "$85?" That's when I was hung up on. I called back to curse out the guy for being an incredible dickhead, only to put placed on hold immediately and then have the line cut out on me. Called back again and get the recorded message that this number is not in service. I'm willing to pay more money with another pest control company to take the raccoon I trapped and throw him into DQ Pest Control's office. Hopefully, the raccoon is rabid and will bite the dude who hung on me in the ass or in his mouth. WOW. The reviews do not lie when they say this guy is RUDE! My office has some sort of wildlife (raccoon,possum, squirrel..not exactly sure) in the attic. IM GLAD I CALLED THIS GUY!!!!! A SAVIOR! I hired Orkin to come over to my house today to remove mice between 4-6 and they never showed. With some panic and some desperation, I searched google and David was the first person I found. He came over after hours on a Friday night and he couldn't have cared less what time it was, he just wanted to help out and identify the issue. Upon coming in we identified the problem areas in my apartment and got right to work. He was definitely a people person, we had a good conversation while he was hurled over my toilet spraying wall patch into the wall, I can only assume I wouldn't have gotten half of this if i had waited until tomorrow to have Orkin to come over and charge me more money for the same exact thing, after disrespecting me by not showing up and having no customer service to handle the issue. My dog had an altercation with a possum, leaving the possum severely injured in my backyard. I called DQ Pest Control who was quick to respond -arrived 30 minutes after I called. He was quick to remove the possum (took care of it in a few short minutes), but was humane in not hurting the animal. His pricing was reasonable and he was easy to talk to. DON'T HIRE this company! Their practices are horrifying. They think it's best to shoot pigeons in crowded Pharmacies with little children watching. A net would do just fine to catch it and release it. First shot only clipped the bird, so it flew around pouring blood all over the place. I personally offered to take over so I could catch the bird and bring it to a wildlife rehab or have it humanly euthanized. That's when I got cursed at and lied to multiple times! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Dave, the owner, is the RUDEST, most DISRESPECTFUL, most UNETHICAL person I have ever come across! There is some sort of small animal in our attic crawl space and after doing some research and seeing the good reviews for DQ Pest Control, we decided to go with them. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! Dave came over and after briefly looking at the space, informed us that we have a mice issue because he saw "mice droppings". For $350 he told us he would get rid of them, GUARANTEED. What this wonderful method consists of is him literally throwing down some rat poison with no intention of ever coming back. I could have done that myself for a whole lot cheaper! Before he left he told us that the weak points in our home that might be possible entry points for small animals would be the vents on our roof and the opening in the garage wall to allow for wiring. He recommended we should get those fixed and gave us his favorite contractor. About a week goes by and the sounds in the crawl space, instead of going away or died down, intensified so we called Dave to see if he could come by. He was very brisk on the phone and told us unless we got the vent fixed, he couldn't do his job. Mind you, he never once says those are perquisites to him coming for follow-up visits in his initial diagnosis. We got the vent fixed and my husband called him again only to be yelled at, talked down to, and was repeatedly talked over. He now tells us that all the holes in the garage must also be sealed off. This man loves to hear the sound of his own voice. He finally relented and told us he would come by in a week. However, he raged in a follow-up call when he learned we did not use his contractor and voiced his doubts on the quality of work that was done and whether that would permit him to do his job. What legitimate business person would force you to use their contractor, to which he initially says he cared not whom we used, before they can do a re-assessment. Needless to say I was livid when I heard this. We did not pay him to NOT do his job and disrespect us. I no longer trust him or want him in my home so I called to get a better understanding for myself and ask for a refund. The moment he heard who I was he immediately went into a rant about what we needed to do in order for him to do his job. I had to ask him MULTIPLE TIMES to stop raising his voice and screaming at me because I was trying to have a calm and civil conversation with him. He pretty much called my husband and I stupid and brushed me off saying he will stop by in a week before hanging up on me. I have decided that I will seek legal counsel and take him to small claims court. At this point it's not about the money or the job that he promised and DID NOT delivered but about the principles, being professional and treating your customers well. read more

We suspected a squirrel in the attic and called DQ following a Google search. DQ came to our home and felt it unnecessary to enter the attic or go on the roof to inspect the suspected animal entrance site. DQ opted to only set outdoor cage traps for a fee of $450. Over the course of the next few days, nothing was lured into the traps yet the noise in the attic remained. In the twenty plus years that I've been in my current home I've had a gazillion "professionals" who have come in to do all the things a homeowner needs done. This was the first time I desperately needed a wild life removal expert and I had no one in my contact list who could service the problem nor recommend someone. I made at least eight calls after a Google search. Their quotes to take care of a raccoon problem were all over the charts. I was more confused than ever. My final inquiry was to David, the owner of DQ Pest. He spoke quickly and wasn't a "smooth as silk"/slick salesman, but everything he said made sense and I could just tell he knew what he was talking about when it came to my pest situation and how to solve it. To make a long story short, he was DILIGENT, PROFESSIONAL, knowledgeable and took care of the catching and removal which was complicated and took him about a week to accomplish. His original price never changed and he visited my home MANY times (sometimes twice a day) until the task was done. He even put me in touch with a fabulous roofer to take care of all the damage caused by the raccoons. He won't hold your hand during the process, he might not return your calls (I think he's just impatient with those - like me -who know nothing of his field of expertise who call with questions while he's doing the job), he's not one to "schmooze", but my experience exemplified to me that he is an honorable pro who will be there when he knows he needs to be there, knows what he's doing and does what you hire him to do. We called DQ pest control after a rather large opossum knocked a panel out of my wall and decided to make my ceiling his home. David was at my home the following morning and set traps to catch him. Unfortunately, the opossum found the crawlspace under my patio which, due to a previous bad contracting job was not accessible. After a few days with no catches, I noticed some paw prints in my bathroom. Mr.Opossum decided to come in to my apartment. We called DQ immediately and he was there the next morning and I took it upon myself to make a hole to get access to the crawlspace. After doing a thorough search of the room, David placed more traps and the next morning, we got HIM! DQ came right away and removed him, and was nice enough to leave some traps just in case there was another. After a few days, David came back and removed the traps. Having these pests in your home can be very intimidating and leave you feeling violated. DQ was there for my family and was professional and courteous. So I walk outside this morning and there was rabid raccoon waking towards me and goes under my car . It looked disoriented and I knew something was wrong . I walked back in and called a number my brother in law got for me thinking its was a town animal control. I was greeted very unprofessional . The man who answered said , how can I help you?! There was no intro of what company this was, so I asked is this animal control and he proceeded to say what kind of animal; not a yes this is an animal pest control , I answered raccoon .He then asked where is it I said under my car and he said where are u located I said My town and he said something right after that but I couldn't hear because he said it so quick . I assumed he said ok we will send someone and then I said wait you don't need my address and he said did you hear what I said and I said no sorry and he said its $250 and I said I'm not paying that and before I could say anything he rushed me off and said have a good day and hung up on me . To me that is very unprofessional and rude. As far as I know a wild animal that clearly looks like it might be dangerous and possibly have rabies because it's a nocturnal animal and shouldn't be out in the morning would concern anyone at least any real human being with a conscious . He didn't seem one bit worried or interested in helping me. His only concern was to charge me and rush me off the phone. He didn't once question anything or give me any help or other possible suggestions seeing that $250 isn't chump change most people don't have laying around in case a raccoon up and decides to hang out on your property . I was very nervous and I know I sounded worried and he didn't even care or attempt to calm me down. If he had approached the whole situation a little more concerned that a rabid wild animal is in my driveway I may have possibly contracted them to come . I just found it steep at first, $250 is a lot to pay when you didn't do anything . APPALLING PROFESSIONALISM! I was appalled when the man hired from this company shot a pigeon in the middle of a pharmacy during business hours. It was uncalled for, unprofessional, and dangerous. With several customers in the store, the man took out a gun, most likely a BB gun, and shot the pigeon. It was unbelievably disturbing as many tried to ask him to stop. He then yelled back and threatened customers and later cursed that he just wants to get "the f*cking bird out of here." I waited around for over thirty minutes to see if the man would retrieve the bird. With blood stains on a store sign, he climbed up on the refrigerators and tried retrieving the bird, but after a half hour he was unable to do. read more

CON MAN - STAY AWAY! I paid $450 for David Quinn to set up 3 squirrel traps in my yard. In addition, he was to be paid $50 for every squirrel caught. Two days later no squirrels were caught and he came back to my property in the middle of the day. After viewing the empty traps he was observed going back to his truck and picking up a black garbage bag with something inside. He then went to the location of the traps and removed a trap with a squirrel inside from the black bag and put it on the ground! He then picked up the empty trap and brought it back to his truck. When I was informed of this, I called him to confront him and he denied it. He said he had only come to re-bait the traps. Approximately half an hour after the phone call, he came back to my house and spread dried corn on the ground. He was confronted by a family member and he said he came to remove the squirrel I told him about. I spoke with him on the cell phone and told him to take his traps and get off my property. I am still waiting for a full refund as I don't conduct business with con men! How many other people has he done this to? read more
