I had a very hard time finding anyone who could do this - the regular exxterminators can't as Bees are protected species, so you have to find a company that specializes in bee removal. Mike was the most knowledgeable person I called after several call to other pest exterminator and bee relocator. He knows his business and talks in depth in a calm manner to help me identify that I had bumblebees underneath my shed. He explained everything full disclose to ensure there would be no surprises. When we started to notice some yellow jacks buzzing in and around the overhang of our patio, we knew something had to be done to nip this problem in the bud. The bees were busy flying back and forth for a couple of days, using two small openings to access the inside. Luckily, we called The Bee Shepherds that Sunday evening and were surprisingly called back that same night to set up something for the following Tuesday of the same week. Mike Mollica, Jr. was especially accommodating of my schedule and was able to arrive at the house at 7:30 .a.m. Mike was very professional and informative. Mike was honest that it's possible the treatment may not work. Well, turns out it worked like a charm. Bees came around the area for a few hours only to be confused that they could no longer locate their queen inside and would fly away disappointed. No mess left behind, no dead bees all over the property, no need to break open the structure and, more importantly, no spraying of toxic chemicals, as we have children. Hiring Bee Shepherds is the best money I've ever spent! I found them online and called them in a panic. My house was swarming with wasps. They came that night (at 7pm after a full day of working other jobs) and handled the problem. The wasps had built a nest in my 25 foot high living room ceiling. Mike was able to tackle the job, cutting a hole neatly in the ceiling (after climbing an enormous ladder), vacuuming out nest and all the wasps that had gotten into the house (literally hundreds of them). They were so professional, kind and careful with my furniture/items. They came back the next day to treat the outside of the house and took away all nests in the backyard. (Turns out, there were many). I couldn't be happier with this service. Worth every penny. Other companies I called wouldn't even talk to me once I told them the ceiling height. I have absolutely no idea why this company would get anything less than 5 stars!!!!! I would give 100 if I could! This is a family owned, father and son team and I have used them countless times over the last few years, as we seem to get wasp nests a few times a season. Having lost my son to cancer, I was very concerned about the use of pesticides because of my surviving son. Each time, they quickly located the nest and physically removed the full nest with no pesticide use. Beyond that, their genuine compassion for what we have been through is something I have yet to encounter with any company we have called on to help with any situation. As for the review where they were supposedly trying to take more money than they should have for the work, I can not believe that could be true, as they have refused to take any money from me since my son was sick and passed away. Not even money for coffee when I offered. Also, they are not an extermination company, but a bee removal company. Therefore they DO NOT have to be licensed and insured like the previous reviewer commented. These men are incredibly beautiful people who are in a business to help others. If you care about your family's health and safety and feel good about giving money to amazing people than this is the team to call for any bee or wasp problems. Not the way you run a business...Mke Sr. and Mike Jr. came to my house after I spotted some yellow jackets in one of my bedrooms. I was given a price of $175 to inspect the area and apply pesticide (dusting). I referenced a coupon I found online for a "free estimate" and was told that the phone call was the "free estimate." Huh? Are you really going to charge me for calling your business? Regardless, they showed up to my house the next morning-spent no more than 20-30 minutes using an infrared camera to look for a hive behind my walls-found nothing-were not able to put down pesticide because they could not locate where the yellow jackets were entering-and still charged me $175!!! When my fiance called the next day to explain how unhappy we were with the service and referenced a blurb on their website that states that "PRICES ARE NEGOTIABLE," and they typically only charge for the gas it takes them to get to your house, we were told that did not apply to our situation and they would soon be removing that information from their website! This is a poorly run business and not one that puts the customers first. It seems to me like a scam and I do not recommend this company for bee removal. read more
