Bait and switch. Was given a quote over the phone for screen repair; however, the price was for a knock off brand. I went with the knock off brand and it was horrible, everything had a greenish tint to it. Went with the Apple brand screen instead; but that screen was poorly installed and it broke a few weeks later. Will not be coming back here again. The prices quoted are not for the genuine parts. For the genuine parts, there are better prices out there! Updated the rating to one star, instead of two. In response to the owner's reply that the screen will break if you drop it. Yes of course it will break, but I have dropped my phone hundreds of times during a year of use before the original screen broke. However, it broke a few weeks after your store installed the replacement screen. So it is clearly not user error, rather it's the store's poor workmanship. read more

So amazing! Last night was St. Patrick's Day. In a moment of goofiness, my boyfriend dropped my phone. Well, I wasn't mad, but my phone shattered. He felt responsible and wanted to pay for a new iPhone 5 because I had no replacements left on my Applecare insurance.. I did not feel right taking about 600 dollars from him. So, we considered repairs. But I was hesitant about sending it to a repair shop. I have never done that before. I was worried about the quality of work, and also how long I would be without my phone! So, we did some research on yelp. We found Dr. Digital and their great reviews. And I decided it would make sense at least to try it. So glad I did! Came in with a shattered screen - it was BAD! It is now twenty minutes later and typing this review from my new screen! So thrilled! Low prices! It was about 90 bucks! Even using my Applecare insurance for a new phone (Already used up my 2 replacements) a copay was 50 bucks! Such a better alternative than getting replacements! Even if you do have warranties, only use them when absolutely necessary! The staff is so friendly, helpful, and efficient! And the quality is top notch! I even told him tell another customer looking for a phone fix: "You could get this done cheaper at other places, but I only use quality, original products from the manufacturer. And I will not use cheap materials." So, he left it up to her. I thought that was honest and awesome! I totally trust him with all my products. Long Story Short: Incredible people, epic customer service, one visit and they have my loyalty forever. I've already recommended them to others and it's only been 20 mins. since I left the shop! Long Story: I came to this place because I don't speak tech and because geek squad's amount of red tape, lengthy lines, and regularly screwing up my items makes me want to hulk out. Yelp recommended them and I figured it wouldn't hurt to message them and several other local tech shops with a question regarding my laptop. Every tech shop sent me a version of, "just bring your stuff in and we'll figure it out" ...except Dr. Digital. Instead, the owner personally sent me a response, answering my questions and explaining details in a language I understood without at all being condescending. So I went in. The shop is on the corner of a street with meter parking and it's fairly small. As someone who's bought into the geek squad ubiquity and huge section at best buy, I wasn't sure what to expect of a little shop. What I found inside shocked me. There were no lengthy lines. There were no robotic sounding people trying to sell me on protection plans before they'd speak to me. While waiting for my computer to boot up, I saw the owner tell a potential customer how to solve a problem and turn down the customer's idea of paying hundreds for a new phone instead. Seriously. The owner of the place turned down money because he saw the customer not realizing that the fix was quick and free (the guy just needed to update the software). When it was my turn, I expected the huge upsells and the snottiness that typically comes with a geek squad experience. Instead, the owner explained the problem, showed me how he diagnosed the problem, and then offered to fix the computer immediately. I walked out with a perfectly working laptop, paying far less than I expected and having a far better experience than I could have imagined. I hadn't even left the parking space before texting about him to someone to recommend this place to others. For me, the awesomeness is two-fold; first, the staff and owner are knowledgeable in the work they do and fair in the price they charge; second, they're just good people. They'd rather make money by truly fixing a problem with their expertise than to convince an unknowing person they need expensive (unnecessary) repairs. This shop is like going to see your cousin; he might have to charge you to do the work but he'll never screw you out of money and he'll never disrespect you or your intelligence. Dr Digital - My old screen before they fixed it! - Mobile Phone Repair Near Me - Sherman Oaks, California

On 12-09-17, after reading so many 5 star reviews* (see PS below), I took my Note 5 to Dr. Digital to repair the charging port. I paid owner/Juda $75 upfront. He was rude to a customer leaving the store & when I asked why, he gruffly stated, "If my customers are not nice, neither am I!" I was told the part would be in the following Tuesday and he would call me. In all fairness, he did provide me with a wireless remote charger so I could continue to use my phone. On Wednesday, not having heard from him, I called and reminded Juda he told me the part would be in yesterday and he would call me. He lashed out, "I have no control over UPS, and you are not my only customer!" After I called again and learned the part came in, I returned with a box of bakery cookies to show him I was a "nice" customer. He warmed up for a few seconds and then warned me the screen could break while repairing the charging port, but in 20 yrs, it never happened. If I was his first, he would only charge $35 (for breaking my phone!), back up my data & I could still file a claim with my T-Mobile insurance ($150 co-pay)--Not true. During the repair, he first said he caused "slight cosmetic" damage & then the LCD screen broke & my phone was no longer operable. I called from his store to file an insurance claim & was told as an outside business broke it, the warranty was voided. While in tears, after asking Juda if he still felt he should charge me, he blew up, angrily lashing out again, "JUST FOR THAT I'M NOT GOING TO BACK UP YOUR DATA! SO SUE ME!"--CONTINUING WITH A BULLYING TIRADE, SARCASTICALLY MIMICKING & INSULTING ME throwing $75 cash back at me which I left on his table. I'm 64 yrs old with a disability, recently having been hospitalized with pneumonia (which I previously told him about). Seeing the visible anger on his face, fearing he may become violent, & learning all my data & pictures were lost, I broke down hysterically sobbing which continued uncontrollably for several hours--I didn't feel I was in any condition to drive home. He admitted to having "Anger Issues". He reconsidered and agreed to back up the data but he had to leave & turned it over to his employee. I gave him back $35 he originally said I owed him & sat there for over 7 hrs (all the while still in shock and sobbing) with the back-up still not completed. His two employees, Yassivis and Kyle who were both very kind & sympathetic, to my chagrin, said I had to come back the next day. The next day Juda said my flash drive was defective, nothing had been backed up. I could bring another flash drive or he could repair the LCD screen he broke for $225 plus tax, including the $35.00 I had already paid him! When I asked if he would pay me something for my phone (for the parts), he said "Why would I want a phone that doesn't work!" Worst business encounter ever! I have only written 5 star reviews in the past. PS: Re Dr. Digital 5 star rating: It appears that Yelp's automated software omitted Dr. Digital's one star bad reviews with several stating Juda gives you a good discount if, while you're at his store, either you or he writes a 5 star yelp review/rating on your account. These bad reviews, which can be read by clicking on them, were not factored into this business's overall star rating. read more

I am here on a monthly basis now, since I probably am the clumsiest person ever & my phone constantly falls & shatters. Not only do I bring my phone here, but now my whole family does too. Great service, the guy who helped me was so hard working... There was a line of us and he was so patient. He was also very good at attention to detail... I had my iPhone 6 Plus repaired by him and he notice something on the new screen after he fixed it. So he went back in and fixed it again... The wait was long cuz I went during busy hours... Honesty and customer service will go far for business owners, and these guys got it. IPhone 5s repair was $80 which was pricey cuz I've had it fixed for $50 in the city but I was desperate and already there so I paid it. I asked them about getting a new battery for my phone and a life proof case because I wanted to take underwater pictures and they advised against it. I appreciated their honesty and when the time comes for a new battery I'll check these guys out again. Ps. Drove down the street on Ventura towards Encino. Passed a repair shop on the right hand side and decided to give them a call. They charge $70. Hopefully these guys were worth the extra cash :) read more
