The drinks here are incredible. Every single coffee/espresso-based drink I've tried here has been incredible. Even the simple lattes are enjoyable and repeatable go-to's. Typically, lattes can have notes that are too complex/too overpowering, but Dr ink's lattes are just right. They're smooth, interesting, but not overly so such that they're too complicated to become repeat favorites. Their blends are why I'm writing this review. My summertime favorite was the iced sea salt caramel latte. Perfection. Fall came through with pistachio and spiced pumpkin lattes. That iced pistachio latte with oat milk? My new obsession. Mildly rich. Slightly sweet. Elegantly pistachio. So good. And that hot spiced pumpkin latte with oat milk? Say no more. If you enjoy elevated, perfectly mildly sweet, and elevated espresso blends, Dr. Ink is for you. It's definitely my obsession of the moment. I tried this place for the first time a couple of days ago and it was really good. Busy place, with about a 15 minute wait for the drink but it was worth it. Everyone in my group enjoyed their ice match or iced coffee drinks. The only thing I would do differently next time is request light ice, which I recommend doing with any ice drink you ever order (unless you like a lot of ice that is). read more

I got an Iced Matcha Latte & it was good, pretty standard. I really wanted to try one of the seasonal drinks, which I think was a Blueberry Latte but it's pretty cool that they seem to have unique combos. Menu is limited but a good selection. It seems like a nice place to come have a coffee/matcha with a friend or to work from. Dr.ink is a vibe. Minimalistic cafe with maximalistic drinks! I've been here a handful of times now and it never upsets. They are located a block from San Pedro Square in a corner. It's hard to find street parking near the store itself so I would just recommend parking in the San Pedro structure and walk on over. They have a super clean white aesthetic inside with a couple of tables but I would say if you're looking for a place to study, it might be hard to find seating. They also have a pretty good selection of drinks to choose from. My usual is their Thai Brûlée which is Thai Tea with a brûlée cream top. I really enjoy the flavors and I don't think there is a lot of places in the Bay Area that has anything like it. Additionally, I appreciate their creativeness when it comes to their seasonal menu. I always have a hard time figuring out if I should get the usual or try something new! This time around I got a blueberry latte and my partner got a grape nojito. My blueberry latte was strong with a nice light blueberry flavor and my boyfriend's drink was nice and tasty, similar to a grape hi-chew with an after taste of lime. Short review since I've only been here once. We live nearby so we decided to take a walk since the weather was nice! There was some kind of event going on at San Pedro Square so there were actually a lot of people in the area. Since this place is across the street from San Pedro, there were a lot of people here too. I ordered an Iced Dark Chocolate Coffee and a Chocolate Chip Cookie. I did see that they had some seasonal drinks too but I wanted to try something that's on the menu year-round just in case I liked it, I could come back for more! One of my favorite places for interesting lattes and well made drinks. Everything here is well thought out so the flavors always delight vs other places where sometimes interesting sounding flavors aren't good or doesn't taste the way they are described. You can't adjust sweetness on their lattes but the drinks are not too sweet. I love trying things in their seasonal menu which rotates every few months so I never get bored. Love the vibe. Hard to get a seat b/c it popular and there isn't much seating but you can always buy a drink and walk over to San Pedro Square. Wish they had a few simple toast or food options - that would make them hands-down my fav but they do have pastries etc. They use to do amazing soft serve in the summer but haven't seen that this year so wondering if they've phased that out. One of my TOP favorite cafes to go to is Dr.ink! I've only tried it recently this year and I wish I had done it earlier. Every drink I've tried thus far have been delightful and I'm always craving them! Dr.ink is located in downtown San Jose near San Pedro Square. I park at the Market and San Pedro parking garage (first 90 minutes free) and walk down the block! The cafe is very modern with high ceilings and a slight nordic-style interior. There isn't too many seating areas but I've been able to snag a table before (around 3 PM). If you're able to get a table, Dr.ink is a great place to grab coffee and study. What I've tried and their respective ratings: Blue Ink: (4.7/5) I absolutely enjoy coconut juice, coconut milk, you name it. This drink was absolutely creamy, rich and delicious! I also loveee the blue color of the drink, it's super pretty. However, I do prefer my coconut milk with coffee so it isn't too heavy. Sencha tea with honey boba: (4.5/5) The tea wasn't too sweet and wasn't too bitter. The boba was a bit too sweet but it did balance well with the tea which was nice. Sweet Corn Latte: (5/5) I LOVE sweet corn. I also love corn milk which is a popular Vietnamese drink that is super creamy, sweet and full of corn flavor so I HAD to try this drink. I ordered mine with a single shot of espresso and it was perfect! The corn purée was full of flavor, the cream top was light and creamy. The milk to coffee ratio was perfect for me and everything balanced so well. PLEASE make this a permanent menu item. Butterscotch latte: (4.5/5) This drink was divine. The cream top was smooth and butterscotch-y. The coffee and cream tasted amazing together especially when you sip through the lid, instead of using a straw. Iced Coconut Latte: (4.8/5) As if you didn't already know, I love coconut! I love Vietnamese coconut coffee so this drink caught my eye quickly. Again, super creamy coconut with the strong nutty and smoky notes of the espresso balanced together beautifully. Jade Green Tea with cream top: (3.5/5) The cream wasn't as creamy as I'd hope and the tea itself could be sweeter (maybe have more options to add a sweetener). However, it was simple and nice. My only complaint is that, although the flavor options are vast, I'm not sure they all live up to their written description. I had a tiramisu latte, per the barista recommendation, and I can't say I was blown away. The presentation was great, but the latte had no unique discernible flavor. You could have told me it was just a regular latte with nothing added to it, and I would have believed you. I got the black sesame latte with less ice. I love the cream on top. Not too sweet, enough creaminess, and the flavor was nice. It wasn't overpowering so I was able to enjoy the entire cup. These new drinks are amazing! The salted caramel latte tastes similar to the tiramisu latte except the foam top tastes a little more salted. The guava matcha latte tastes A LOT like guava. If you don't like guava, you probably won't like it. It overpowers the matcha a lot so not much matcha flavor but the cream top is so good, sweet and still a bit of guava. The milk inside with the guava is mostly what you taste though. read more

It had too much acidity and the orange tasted almost pickled (?) which made it a weirdly bitter savory drink that probably tasted even worse bc the maple latte was so good. We ended up going back to try the corn latte and to make up for the orange cold brew. The corn latte was soooo yummy! I loved the little corn gummy on top of the drink, it fr tasted like corn. I would say it's not the best corn drink I've had (haru cake is still the best) but I really appreciated the presentation. Overall, I gave this place 5 stars bc of how extensive and creative the menu is. I definitely want to come back to try different seasonal drinks! However, that means they can focus solely on delivering solid coffee and tea offerings, which I admire. The staff were really kind in helping me find a drink that I'd enjoy. Came to Dr.ink around 11:30am on a Friday, and ordered a hot matcha latte after a quick glance at the menu. There was a nice minimalistic aesthetic with gorgeous plants and a decent amount of tables and seats with people working on their laptops, in adition to a few seats in nooks to just sit and enjoy the ambiance at. -matcha latte ($7.19): super pretty latte art, and the initia color at the top of the foam was super promising. Unfortunately it became evident after taking a sip that this matcha was mostly milk with just a hint of matcha in it. My first cup had some clumps of matcha powder, and they were nice enough to remake it when asked. Even without the clumps though, this drink was almost tasteless, unsweetened, and was pretty disappointing. I definitely wouldn't recommend the matcha latte here, especially given how pricey it was. I've heard good things about Dr.ink though, so I would still come back to give some of the other drinks a try if I happen to be around. read more

It was a hot day so I wanted a simple iced green tea with milk. Looking at the drink, it looked very watered down and sad. When I tasted it, it was straight water. No taste of any tea or milk. Ordered the seasonal maple latte - hot. It was a coffee + tea mixed base which I love so I had to get it. The maple isn't a strong flavor but it gives it a subtle sweetness. You get a coffee forward taste and tea after taste. My mom got the Thai brûlée which was super interesting. The Thai tea was a little too sweet for my liking but it had egg pudding on the bottom and an egg cream top that gets brûléed which just elevated the drink nicely and balanced it out. I came across this place a number times when I'm in San Pedro Square. They had a line outside the door. I came by Sunday with a group and there was no long lines. Yay! The menu is posted at the left side of the register. They have a unique menu of drinks. I decided to try their Pink Hour. It's strawberry purée, milk, and yogurt cream top. It was rich with cream on the top and had pretty sparkles along with strawberry bits. It was too pretty to eat so I took a close up photo to remember. The drink wasn't too sweet and you can taste the strawberry flavor. The place is well lit with the sun shining through. I wish we could have sat there but there wasn't enough seats for the 10 of us.
