I brought my cat Fritz in today as a new patient very last minute. I called around 9:30am this morning and they were able to see us at 10:45am without any wait. Dr. Yoo, the vet tech assistant, and Stephanie were all incredibly kind and patient with my boyfriend and I. I really appreciated how Dr. Yoo took our finances into account to get the best price available for us since we aren't particularly well-off folks. They took gentle and compassionate care of Fritz and made sure he got the treatment he needed for his upset stomach. I'm a long time pet owner. I have had many dogs and always seemed to struggle to find the right Veterinarian here in Astoria so when I got my Yorkie-Poo I was really struggling with "where could I find someone I can trust and with a clean office" for my dog. Upfront I haven't been to Dr.Pet Daddy in about 1.5 years. I think Dr. Yoo is a good vet. Yes he's not overly chatty, but that doesn't bother me. But as many have pointed out, this is a very expensive place to take your pets, and that's saying something because before moving to Astoria we took our pets to a Park Slope Vet who catered to the wealthy surroundings and friends thought we were crazy to pay as much as we did there for pet care. But the costs at Dr. Pet Daddy far exceeded the PSBK Vet, and an uneasy sticker shock generally followed when handed the bill, which sort of is the opposite narrative that Dr. Pet Daddy pitches you at the onset. It all came of as kind of shocking as this is a very minuscule operation, sort of a pop-up shop sized office. In the end we switched to a more comprehensive veterinarian in Astoria, which and has a amazing number of vets, and far more reasonable pricing. read more

my pain in the butt niece call me and ask if i could take her and her ugly mutt to the vet in astoria and at first i told her heck no but when i found out that her mom (my sister)is back in town from california via france i said it would be an honor to take professor lydia ben .CEO of gold star fragrances corp to the vet. i will keep the review simple and short , this animal doctor dr yoo and the vet tech a gentleman who's name i dont recall are excellent with handling my niece's dog from giving the dog an exam to pin pointing the problem which was indeed skin fungus. with the coronavirus situation going on they vet spreads apart appointments so the chance of having a full waiting area is zero as we arrived we were the only ones inside waiting which was less then 10 minutes . the front desk lady was very nice and took all the dogs info and gave us the bill at the end with each service and meds , shampoo, etc , listed individual with cost..while we were sitting by the front of the office the vet and tech were in the exam room checking our dog and were answering every question we had from type of food for the dog , how many times a day to feed and if we should leave water 24/7. the exam room and table is clean as i notice it was sanitzed before and after our dog's exam. the vet ask us to bring the dog back in 10 days for a follow up visit and to give the dog the required vaccination shots, etc. we are giving dr dog daddy 5 stars , my pain in the butt niece is happy, my wonderful amazing sister is happy , our doggy is happy and i am happy as its lunch time and i am hungry . p s. rates for services are very reasonable. read more

Dr. Pet Daddy is the greatest. They took care of my Yorkie and brought him back from a severe ear infection. My former vet gave him a "long term" ear treatment without even explaining what it was, and it seemed to have damaged his ear. Pet Daddy took one look and got him started on the right medicines. The Dr is thorough and not rushed- he only schedules one patient at a time, and he focused on who is in front of him. Made a same day first time appointment for my kitten who has FIV and requires special care... The team was very friendly and knowledgable. Dr. Yoo was wonderful with my kitten. Prices are good compared to other places in Queens and there were no unnecessary tests done! The office is bright and clean. I'm just so happy I've found them! I brought my elderly (16 year old) cat, Isis, in for urinary problems. The vet tech (I'm sorry, I don't have your name in front of me!) was stellar, very gentle and patient with my old cat. Dr. Yoo was clear and compassionate - he even used pheromone spray for Isis' stress. Everyone mentions the office and they're right. It's clean, it doesn't smell - and these are truly things to comment on given my experiences with multiple other vets. Since Isis is old and is experiencing kidney failure, I will be partnering with this office to help her make the most of her remaining time, and I'm glad this vet exists. read more

Very informative (For example, Ollie often goes hiking... so he helped us with the Lyme disease vaccination, which has been a concern for us....) I've taken my dog here several times, and I've never cared too much for the treatment they've given him. My dog is old and fragile, but the vet is inappropriately rough and insensitive with him. He's also averse to any kind of a dialogue or questions I have as concerned, caring pet owner. From what I gather, he seems offended every time I raise a question about treatment or how to care for my dog. I could be misreading that, but at the very least he's put off by communication for unexplained reasons. Ultimately what led me to write this review is my last and final visit to this office. My dog had an anal tumor that I was very concerned about. Eventually it had to be removed, and without any anesthesia or numbing ointments, this man went in with a scalpel and put my dog through a tremendous amount of pain. I was absolutely livid with how the situation was handled. To make matters worse, this man didn't even seem to care that my dog was clearly hurting. I will never take my dog back to that office again. read more

For years I went to All Pets Vet on Steinway street )even though she always made me feel like a bad dog mom, and would muzzle my sweet, 7 pound yorkie every time she examined him) because I live only a couple of doors down, and I thought if there was ever an emergency it would be great to have the vet right on my block. My dog hurt his leg and was limping pretty badly, and we called and called our vet only to find she had shut down without letting any of her patients know. Dr. Pet Daddy was the only vet in the neighborhood that had same day availability, and I'm so glad for that! Since that initial visit my dog has had a dental surgery with Dr. Pet Daddy and a tumor removed and biopsied. Their office hours are very convenient, I've never waiting more than 5 minutes for my appointment (I would often wait an hour at All Pets), and their office visit is less expensive than what my mom's vet in the suburbs cost. For my dog's surgery they gave me a low end and a high end estimate for the price, and when I picked him up they ended up charging me $500 less than the "low end" estimate because everything went really smoothly. They are very transparent about their pricing and charges and I never feel like they are just trying to get my money. The vet tech is a really kind young man and both he and Dr. Yoo clearly truly love animals. They handle my dog expertly but kindly. I always leave Dr. Pet Daddy feeling relieved and happy because I know my dog is getting good care and I am getting good advice on how to care for my aging pup! read more

i'm very, very impressed by how quickly i was able to get in touch with the doctor and bring my puppy in. last night, my puppy started coughing every 5-10 minutes with loud breathing sounds suggestive of nasal congestion. alarmed, i called the office and left a message. in the morning, dr. yoo personally spoke to me on the phone and made my appointment for the evening. they were extremely accommodating and performed a thorough exam. i am so relieved to have dr. yoo confirm my suspicions that she had mild kennel cough. thank you, thank you, thank you. read more

I have taken my dog to Dr pet Daddy twice since November and not been disappointed! Our first visit was a walk in. My dog was bitten in the park and I wanted to make sure that the puncture didn't require stitches. I called maybe 5 minutes before arriving on a saturday morning and everyone was pleasant. Once we got there my dog realized it was a vets office and started flipping out but both the vet tech and Dr Yoo were extremely gentle with her and let her warm up on her own while offering her treats. After checking her mouth and the puncture no stitches were needed but she was given a few shots which i was worried about because in the past her old vet would muzzle her to give her shots and practically sit on her to keep her still. I was surprised how quickly they were able to give her the shots with just the Vet tech and Dr Yoo holding her all while being very sweet. By the time her first visit was over she was lounging on their front bench in the sun not wanting to leave ( a complete 180 from when we arrived). They were thorough and answered the millions of questions that i had all while being gentle and making my dog feel comfortable. For this reason I chose to schedule another appointment to get her shots updated when the time came. We went this past week and they were just as kind as our first visit. Though my dog was still iffy about being at the vet and hid under a chair the staff was just as easy going as the first time we came. Once again the visit was a painless one unlike other vet visits we have had and that makes me feel better about taking her in to see Dr Yoo. The prices were affordable, the office is small but neat and clean, and the staff is exceptionally friendly and patient especially the vet tech (I can't remember his name but he's super nice!). One day we found our cat not feeling so well. I was trying to decide on 2 vet clinics in the Ditmars area. Then I found Dr. Pet Daddy. They were able to schedule us that same day. My bf took him in and the doctor spent a good amount of time with our cat. They waive the $45 checkup fee for new clients. The staff called us a few days later to check up on our cat. So nice to have a vet in the area who actually cares and follows up with patients. They are reasonably priced compared to the other two vet clinics and you will be paying for one on one care. I was surprised to hear our cat didn't freak out considering he went through a past traumatic experience and is not good with strangers, but he was very calm with Dr. Yoo. We took our pet to Dr. Pet Daddy on 08/08/16. The place looks nice, cozy and clean. My concern is that after the visit, they gave us an invoice for $500+ dollars which included the visit and the prescription. At the moment, we thought the prices were a little high for the medicine prescribed, so we requested to get a prescription from the Dr. to do our research online. Upon requested, they refused to give me written prescription and asked us to take pictures of the medicine they have prepared for us, we insisted to get a prescription and the receptionist wrote down the names for us on a piece of paper. After we researched all the drugs prescribe to our pet, we found all the medicines at a 30% cost online on different websites. We placed the order for the medicine and they will not send it to us because we do not have a prescription. We contacted the Veterinary's office and they advised us that he was out of the office and we had to wait until he gets back to the office. So here we are 3 days after without a prescription, it seems like the Veterinary got upset because we did not buy the medicine with him. That is very unprofessional from our perspective. read more

Going to see Dr. Yoo at Dr. pet daddy was one of the best decisions I have ever made for my pet. My dog had been sick for a few days and when I finally decided she needed to see someone I didn't know where to go. I recently moved to Astoria and didn't have a vet yet. So I turned to Yelp for some help. Pet Daddy had the best reviews so I decided to check it out. I was not wrong to make that choice. As soon as you walk in it just looks so nice and clean, the staff was super friendly as well. We didn't have an appointment but it wasn't a problem, we just had to fill out some forms and were taken right in! The Doctor was very nice and asked a lot of questions and made sure we didn't have any questions for him. He gave us some medications and made sure we knew how to use them and sent us on our way. They also helped me out and clipped my dogs nails! (She won't let me do them) the difference in my dog in just a few hours of giving her the medicine was amazing. She's back to her old self! They also called me this morning to check on her to see how she was doing! This place is seriously amazing!!! If you need a place to take your dog or cat look no further! I will continue to go here for my pet and I will suggest it to all of my friends! read more
