Big thanks to Yaniv for doing the work on the same day as the estimate! We have an unusual slider (it is large, heavy-duty, and didn't have wheels on the bottom but instead an odd combination of loose and tiny plastic roller "pieces," which had all fallen out of their track, plus some *weird* metal contraptions that didn't have any wheels at all). A representative from another company we called first had never seen one like ours, and expressed concerns about how they might even remove the large panel to replace the underneath hardware. This company, Dr. Slide-Door (Yaniv specifically) said he *had* seen this type twice before, and had successfully repaired both. Their prices were the exact same as the other estimate. He popped that thing right off single-handedly (truly impressive)!!! Yaniv was strong and capable to do the entire job on his own. Also, he was *determined* to make it slide very smoothly and effortlessly... even took the heavy glass panel off a second time and made more adjustments to it. Then he was equally determined to figure out why the lock wasn't lining up quite right, which we had not been using anyway because of its long-time misalignment/difficulty-in-using issues (once again, we have a very unusual hardware setup - boo on the previous owners for all of their selections). Oh, and Yaniv also vacuumed the tracks and applied/told us exactly what type of maintenance/spray to buy/use to keep it "healthy." The slider lives on until we can afford a new one. We bought a new home in the Grove in Camarillo, CA. Our 8 foot patio sliding door has always been very hard to open/close, especially for my wife who has arthritis.
