Went for lunch and was the only diner. I've had delivery but decided that good sushi would do the trick. Decor is somewhat spartan but pleasant as was the staff, who seemed very eager to please. Ordered sashimi lunch special ($9.95) and was surprised to find the lunch special, which often has 'extras' such as soup, etc, was 8 thin slices of fresh fish. But besides the shaved carrot, ginger and wasabi, that was it! To their credit, I asked for some rice and they threw it in gratis, along with egg drop soup. Came back here for a good night and I can honestly say this place is my go to. It's not far from where I live and the staff is very nice. I ordered the sashimi appetizer and gyoza. Light crunch, well prepped the gyoza was and the sashimi was fantastic. Next I got the spicy maki roll and I was blown away with the portion; it was mesmerizing and beautiful. The rice was cooked perfectly and the sauces it accompanied were marvelously fusing the flavors. To finish it off, I ordered the unagi and toka nigiri. Plating phenomenal and the flavor was continuous while ending with a slight hint of sweetness. The toka was what caught my taste. Dipped with a mixture of wasabi and soy sauce, it felt great! The food is delicious, but the wait staff is poor (although nice). Any time I've gone there, I've had to wait 15-20 minutes to see anyone about ordering food or getting the food. I'm echoing Felicia here when I say that I don't think anyone ever asks us for what we want to drink. As for food - most of it is usually delicious. The shrimp low mein is my favorite. However, the gyoza seems to have been baked (rather than steamed), and the green tea ice cream tasted kind of like bubble gum ice cream. The sushi has been pretty good, though. Never in my life will I EVER dine here again. The owner/waitress "A.C." (Skinny asian woman with shoulder length black hair) is the most disrespectful penny pinching woman I've ever came across. I ordered a Philadelphia Roll that was NOT properly made and I tasted one and requested that she takes it back. Instead of providing even average/basic customer service, she catches an attitude. She tells me that 3 people just ordered it and they liked it, so I am in the wrong and there's nothing she can do about it. Also, that "this isn't a tasting restaurant." She persisted on charging me for the item and continued to talk disrespectfully towards me. Sidenote: she didn't even know what ingredients went into the shrimp roll but she thought it was okay to tell me that something was made perfectly fine. Very ratchet/cheap establishment. I just can't with Dragon Bowl delivery anymore. Their food is sometimes good. Their crab Rangoon tastes good and is a good size, but they're SO hot and cold on most dishes! I did call back and the girl on the phone told me it was probably food that looks like hair. NOPE. There was one black hair and yes it was hair. I'm just praying it wasn't pubic hair. Or ass hair? Or chest hair. Ugh. The veggies never ever seem fresh. My broccoli and peapods were mushy and pale. Many dishes taste bland. The seafood isn't fresh, and if I'm buying from a place that sells a lot of sushi, I expect fresh seafood in the hot recipes. I spent $13 on Hong Kong fried rice. The menu describes it as Jumbo Shrimp and scallops! But it's really just like 4 small shrimp that aren't as small as teeny weeny cocktail shrimp and a speckling of tiny bay scallops. There wasn't even a good amount of egg in it! Just mostly rice, rice and more rice with XO sauce. For 13 bucks. Also, beware of the sushi and sashimi. I've gotten a few rolls that smelled and tasted off. I literally had to spit a bite out and toss the whole thing. The egg rolls surely can't be made there. They must be the pre-made frozen ones. I'm a strong Kung Pao chicken guy and typically buy from our 'in town' place which is very good. Went with the standby dish and thought it was very well done. Service was lightning fast. Had the WORST experience tonight with ordering food from here. I originally used the online ordering service because it's quick and easier than ordering over the phone. I have used this numerous times for the Bridgeport location and Munster location with no issues until today. I waited about an hour for my food before I called to double check they got the order. It seems they did not receive the order and apologized for it- I can completely understand a malfunction in the system so it was easy to let it go. I then repeated the order to the gentleman on the phone and let him know we had been waiting an hour for the delivery not realizing that the order didn't go through. Everything went in by 8:30pm and he assured me that he would get the food to us right away. This place is only a 5 min drive away from our house, but we always take into consideration that there are probably other deliveries when we order anywhere. 9 comes around, then 9:15 and still no sign of our food. I get a call from the place and the gentleman asked if we had received our food yet. I said no we have not, we are still waiting. He apologized again and asked for our address one more time and said that the delivery guy was already out for the last delivery and said he would give him a call. We hung up the phone and about 15 minutes later get a call asking if we were coming to pick up the food because they have been waiting and waiting. At this point I assumed we were talking to a different man because I was entirely confused. I explained to him that it was supposed to be delivery and that I had just talked to someone who said the delivery man was out with our order already. He insisted that he was the one who had been on the phone with me prior to this phone conversation and said that he never said that. I was baffled. He said that he said it was for pick up because the delivery guy went home already. He rudely said are you coming or not because we've been waiting and waiting. At this point I didn't want to get the food because it was already 9:35 and I had waited 2 hours for this food- the first hour due to the system error. I told him I didn't want the food anymore and he asked us to come pick it up. I asked if we would get a discount for this error and he said it would be fully refunded to us. After all this trouble, this was my only motivation to get this food. We don't mind paying and it's not at all about getting a discount, but I hadn't even wanted it anymore. So I told them I would be there in a few minutes to pick it up. We went there and the lady tried to charge us full price for the food. It seems as though nothing was communicated and she did not want want to give a discount. We ended up getting 10% off, but it was rather annoying. I will never order from there again due to all of the "run arounds" with information. There is no communication there at all!!!!!! BEWARE! read more

Just ok. Had the shrimp tempura roll but they served regular fried shrimp not shrimp tempura. I'm not sure if they thought I was ignorant and didn't know the difference or if they ran out of batter. But don't advertise tempura roll and serve regular breaded shrimp. Diners are more sophisticated than that. Also ordered Pad Thai, it was too saucy and they served it with a lemon garnish instead of the traditional lime and they forgot to add the crushed peanuts. Owners need to have more respect for diners and not assume we're ignorant and not well versed on authentic Asian cuisine. Do it right or not at all. read more

The next two times it was a completely different dish. Disgusting! - My veggie and avocado sushi rolls were always old and not very good. But the majority of the time, the service was so terrible I wanted to walk out. One time we ordered and 30 minutes later when we still didn't have food, we saw the sushi chef come in to work....so it took 45 minutes to get our food. They could have told us he wasn't there when we ordered. I think they took our orders and then called and woke him up. Every time without fail, they would forget or mess up something of mine. When, all I ordered was a salad, I got my food 15 minutes after my boyfriend got his. We regularly had to go searching for the waiter so we could ask for our bill. - The whole restaurant is dirty and gross. - You could never guess what came with your food or how much you would get. We always went for lunch. But we could order the same thing over and over and occasionally we would dinner portions and occasionally lunch portions. Sometimes they came with an eggroll....sometimes they came with soup and salad....sometimes they came with all three....and sometimes they came with nothing. - Most days I would freeze while sitting at the table. They would keep the AC set to very cold even once fall came. One very hot summer day we went in and the AC was off and the door was open. It felt about 100 degrees in the dining room. I was so miserable and hot that I couldn't even eat my food. Maybe the AC was broken or something, but it was awful. I only gave them so many chances because my boyfriend loved the fish so much and we couldn't find any other sushi places in the area. Also, it was walking distance from my office. My only complaint which seems very prevalent in Asian restaurants is a lack of concern bout cleanliness. I have gotten used to it but should we really be getting used to it?
