Just picked up an order my first time using this restaurant. Sesame Chicken is dry and there were some burned pieces at the bottom. Rice is average. But the appetizers are terrible. I have never seen crab Rangoon with no filling. Just a pile of brittle empty folded dough. So dry they shattered if you tried to eat them. Everything else looked like it had been scraped out of the bottom of the pot. The store appearance should have told me as it is a hot mess but I had phoned in my order already. August 2021 We ordered from Dragon Star restaurant in Concord N.H. last week for the 1st time, as we normally go to 2 other Chinese restaurants in town. We spent $42. We will not order from them again. The chicken fingers were overcooked and dark and hard on the outside, and whatever they deep fried the food in made everything taste funny. We've been getting takeout at Dragon Star for years, because they used to have great shrimp and lobster sauce - jumbo shrimp, generous portion, not too salty. Just perfect. Last night, we ordered C13 - Shrimp with Lobster Sauce. This is a combination platter, served with pork fried rice and egg roll. when we received our dinner, we saw baby shrimp swimming in a salty gravy. It was inedible, and we tried calling to see if we received the wrong order. But, there was no answer. We decided to stop in the next morning. So, this morning, we brought the dish in to show them that there was a mistake in the order. I was told that the combination platter comes with baby shrimp. Then they pointed to menu item #78, and told me that that was the item that comes with jumbo shrimp, not the combo. This is laughable, as I have had this combination platter countless times. And it has always had jumbo shrimp. Bottom line- they made a mistake and refused to make it right. I'm not one to whine when I don't like something on the menu. I just try something else. But, when something I've been enjoying for years isn't the same, I want to find out why. Maybe their recipe changed, or a mistake was made in the kitchen. Not too bad. I stopped in a couple of times recently to give it a try. Prices are great and portions are large. The fried rice is ok, not the best not the worst I've ever had. The general Tao chicken wasn't bad but there was wayyyyy too much extra sauce piled into the box so it was a mess. Teriyaki steak was quite good, no qualms there. Spare ribs were also quite good. The kicker though...and I've tried this twice now...is that this Chinese food gets better when you re heat it. Crazy, I know but it's true. It stays in the fridge better than most leftovers, which is key when you're ordering chinese. The real downside is that the place looks like a dump on the inside. I had a few minutes and had been craving fried rice for about two weeks so i stopped in for a quick order of house fried rice to go, I was the only customer there sitting my order but getting the pint of rice took about 15 minutes then when I get home and open it up i was immediately able to discern that they were out of fried rice at the moment and in a hasty corner cutting move to fill my order they decided to take white rice and mix it with the meat and vegetable fillings of house rice and put it in a container and send me on my way.
