Man Yee Express took over the former Sunshine Oriental Restaurant on Loudon Road, next to McDonald's. I already miss Tina at the former business, where she always greeted me with a big smile whenever I stopped in for takeout. The former business also offered dim sum, which is not offered here now (in 2020), so it's now a short drive to Manchester and Goffstown for dim sum. Just by the name Man Yee, there is already a Man Yee restaurant located across town next to Milano's Pizza serving mainly Chinese food and they have a sushi bar too. I've ordered takeout from the original Man Yee on numerous occasions, calling in my order before I leave my office and by the time I arrive, my food is all set! I decided to stop by the new Man Yee Express for dinner takeout. The staff were wearing masks. The place including dining area and counter still looks the same as before and the booth area was yellow taped off, so there were only two tables spaced apart for eating in. I took a look at the menu here, which offers a streamlined Chinese menu including the usual appetizers, soups, fried rice, lo mein, chow mein, vegetable dishes, chicken, beef dishes, shrimp dishes, and chef's specialties, plus luncheon specials (with pork fried rice or white rice and egg roll) served until 3 PM. In addition to Chinese food, they are focused on Cajun seafood choices including seafood boils (choices of clams, crawfish, mussels, shirmp, crab legs, scallops, lobster tail, dungeoness crab) with corn & potatoes, fried seafood baskets, and family size seafood combos. The prices seem fair. For takeout, I ordered a Fried Oysters Basket with Sweet Potato Fries ($10.99 plus tax) and a Large Hot & Sour Soup ($5.25 plus tax). My food was all set in about 10 minutes. The Fried Oysters Basket initially seemed small at first, but the fried food was packed really good into a small black paper box, which had 8 deep fried oysters over a good amount of sweet potato fries. The fried oysters was hot in temperature and crisp batter on the outside of the soft oysters, 1 tartar sauce cup (Sysco) provided. The sweet potato fries were hot, lightly crisp outside and soft inside. The hot & sour soup (quart size, or 3 bowls) was pretty good and had mildly spicy flavored broth, which had a mix of folded egg, tofu, seaweed, bamboo, and red pepper. I would defintely return again here soon for the Chinese luncheon specials during my lunch break.

Chicken Szechuan and beef Szechuan luncheon specials, comes with egg roll.

We ordered two luncheon specials, chicken and beef Szechuan. Both came with pork fried rice and egg roll. This newly owned restaurant has a professional menu, but no effort has been made to give the customers a pleasing atmosphere. The walls have a couple of tacky things hanging up. The szechuan was very, very salty. Especially the brown sauce on the Szechuan. Both meals were 65% celery. I don't think I'd go back. Already miss the friendly kind prior owner.

Wonderful little lunch stop!…read more It was full of locals and regulars and on a wait for lunch. At that moment I knew I had picked a good spot! We chilled with the folks up front for a good bit before getting a table. It seemed we were the only people that had not been here 30-40 times before. Most people didn't even want menus and the sweet server ladies just brought them food without conversation at all. It's kind of old school feeling inside. It's an open kitchen and you can see all of the action. Inside is all wooden and rustic. It reminds me of my grandmas house in Camden TN. Not sure why. It's just really comfortable in here to me. The tile and fireplaces make super cozy. This place has some of the best chili that I have had in a long time. I dig the fact they give tortilla shops automatically with the chili. Win!! Thick and meaty and oh so filled with spice and love!! Cheese on top was a nice touch too. Really liked it! My French dip was fucking killer!! So damn big too! I could only eat half of it because of the the fire ass chili I had already eaten. French fries were battered type. Nothing wrong with that!! I drove around with this sandwich for two days of travel and ate it on the road later. Stupendous French dip!! C had an open faced roast beef sandwich. FIRE!! The green beans were so pretty and fresh too. She could barely get 1/3 down, lol. It was a ton of food. Economical! Hometown feel! Good people working and eating here! I love it!! I'm not even sure I could find the place again. I sure am glad I did the first time! '26 -39

First time there. Worth the hour drive and will be back . Nicholas our waiter suggested the…read moreshepherds pie. It was fantastic. The presentation was wonderful and it will keep me coming back. I knew that there wermany other things on the menu, but I'll come back for this again and again. Two of us had the coconut curry soup and literally had to lick the bowl to make sure we du DMP t miss one drop of this. The other in our party had the salad And enjoyed it completely. The two others had the scallops and were very impressed. One of our party has a tomato allergy and they were careful not to have it on the dish. Then came dessert time. I called ahead to make sure they had carrot cake because i had read great reviews on it. It certainly lived up to those reviews. One of our guests was too full for dessert, but managed to get a spoonful of both of ours. My friend had the Boston Crean tart, and we all declared this a winner also. They were very accommodating as I had booked for four and had to call them before we came in person's plane was delayed. When I asked, because of the reviews I had read, if they would have carrot cake that evening, and the gentleman said as long as I'm here we will always have carrot cake. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a delicious, well prepared and well presented meal that is as fresh as can be. The service is wonderful and we will be back.

As a bonus, the tofu center is still cold so you can really get complete unpleasantness with every bite. And, rather than having to spend a bunch of time waiting for your noodles to clump together as they congeal, they serve them already clumped so you get the opportunity to eat your noodle in brick form. Ya'll - I know it's New Hampshire, but let's at least put in some effort.

Now it is one of those downtown Concord places I circle back to whenever I am craving something brothy and comforting that still has some personality. Most visits revolve around noodle soups, and I have worked my way through a good chunk of the menu. The spicy miso ramen has a deep heat that builds instead of hitting you all at once, and the shoyu ramen is clean and savory in a way that makes you keep sipping the broth even when you are full. The Bubba pho and veggie pho are both solid, generous bowls, and the Korean noodle soup that started as a special clearly earned its permanent spot. Even the Japanese curry soup, which I expected to be heavier, if I had to nitpick I wish it had more curry flavor. My favorite order though is the spicy tantan, with a tweak. Sub the ground chicken for the soy glazed chicken. It adds texture and a little sweetness that really works with the spice. Service is friendly without hovering, and the pacing is usually spot on even when they are busy. The space itself is small, but I rarely struggle to get a table, and the bar seating is a nice option if you are solo. Portions are filling, prices feel fair, and I always leave thinking about what I will order next time.
