Based on the reviews on here we weren't sure about coming here to eat. We decided to go for it, and despite them having a birthday party taking up almost the entire dinning room, we still had great service and even better food! My husband said it was some of the best Chinese food he's ever had, which says a lot considering it's his favorite food and has tried hundreds of restaurants. I used a food delivery service so I didn't dine at this restaurant. I ordered the mongolian beef, vegetable fried rice, and vegetable chow mein. Everything was delivered quickly and food was hot. The portions of rice and mein were huge, as they should be for what they charge. My reason for 3 stars is the mongolian beef. When I opened the container I had to dig to the bottom to find the beef. 3/4th's of the container were onions. Onions. When I did eat the small amount of beef it was delicious. Sorry, but not sorry. Had one of my coworkers order to go order since we are on a project in Napa. I never looked at the reviews prior. I would always give a restaurant the benefit of the doubt when the to go order is DoorDash. But this restaurant doesn't get a pass. And out of four items one of them wasn't even what we ordered. The ones we did order were in edible. Not saying the food was poison, but it had no flavor and tasted like it was reheated. This was at lunchtime at 1 PM. So no excuse for not having fresh food even if it was fresh. Second, we asked for hot sauce and extra soy sauce. I got neither. Unfortunately, there Hass to be better Asian food in Napa. When I got home $45 dollars later I didn't have the potstickers I had fried wontons instead so I called they sounded so confused and said they couldn't find my order when I was just there. Hubby and I were craving some Chinese food. We were already in our jammies and decided on Door Dash delivery. I ordered sesame chicken, sweet n sour pork, special fried rice (it's loaded with beef, shrimp, chicken and pork) and a side of fried Prawns. It was not cheap, but let me tell ya...the portions are huge and everything was Scrumptious! I really love how, unlike many Chinese restaurants, Dragon Valley chefs mix the sweet and sour sauce into the pork! It's so much better and the touch of broccoli pieces really adds to the dish. Despite having seen a negative review from 2017, I went into Dragon Valley on the evening of January 26, 2023 at about 6:30 PM. A woman at the reception counter wearing a Covid mask was on the telephone. I stood there and she ignored me. And so, I continued toward and into the dining room. It was empty. Not one person or staffer in the room. From there, I walked back into the reception area and toward the exit door. Oh My! The Sizzling Beef was horrible. Big chunks of beef that were over cooked and very tough. This was definitely not the dish we've had before. My bbq pork chow mein was ok. One of the warning signes we should have heeded was they were advertising for a chef (a sign on the door). The server apologized for the dish and gave a discount. My go to is their beef chow mein and their orange chicken. In my experience they're not skimpy on the meat. I wanted to get my noodle fix for lunch, but my favorite Thai restaurants were closed on Mondays. So I opted for the closest (and newest) Chinese restaurant in Napa, Dragon Valley. I hadn't been to its predecessor (Mandarin House?) and was curious about the name change. All of the reviews solidified my decision, and I'm glad I went! The food: I ordered a lunch special of beef with broccoli and chow mein. They only offer hot and sour soup as a starter for this special, which I decline, so I ordered a bowl (they call it large) of Won Ton Soup. The wonton soup is my absolute favorite in Napa. It's flavorful, perfect amount of chewiness, and filling and it comes in a massive bowl meant for more than 1 person. The lunch portions for the chow mein and beef with broccoli were huge! I had enough for leftovers the next day. I really liked the flavors of both dishes, too. The restaurant: You can tell the restaurant has been updated recently (with exception of the bathroom). Fresh paint, lots of light, and colorful tablecloths make the dining room feel bright and open. Service was okay but not fabulous. Staff were nice enough, but my food took a bit longer than I expected. Though, perhaps this could mean the food was made as fresh as possible? I thought it was weird I couldn't swap the hot and sour soup (which I detest) for won ton soup with the lunch special. Food was good. We did Door Dash. I'm not happy with the service. Last time I ordered they forgot my potstickers. I called right away. They took down my phone number and told me to call next time i order and they would include the potstickers at no charge (I paid for them on the first order.) I called to get my potstickers and the man who answered the phone took my phone number to look me up. He came back with some lame excuse I couldn't understand due to a language barrier. So two other people and myself went to the Dragon Valley restaurant in Napa on Saturday. We arrived about 815 and we're sit down immediately and attended to very well. I ordered for appetizers, chicken wings, calamari, and shrimp. After about five minutes, the appetizers came out, and as we ate them, they were so thick with a flower type dough that even though they were cooked on the outside on the inside, they were verydoughy and undercooked. But as for the rest of the food, we had no complaints about the flavor and the food except that the sauce was a little too thick because of adding too much cornstarch. If you go there, I recommend you order the food because it was very tasty but I would just explain to them you do not want so much corn starch and if you order the appetizers, tell them you want a very thin layer of batter on your food. The people are very nice there and with a little help they could get a lot busier by adjusting every few things. And one more thing before I go. They have a perfect set up for a Buffet that they could utilize on Friday night and Saturday night to bring in more income because in Napa, there are no buffets that I know of. read more

Take out is a disorganized mess. When I ordered through Grub Hub the order confirmation said food would be ready in 20 to 30 minutes. I arrived at 25 minutes after ordering. There were at least 15 people waiting for take out orders, most door dash drivers. Everyone was frustrated about the long wait. After 50 minutes I asked about my order and was told that she was not sure they received my order. After 65 minutes I called Grub Hub and was told that my order had been completed at 33 minutes after I ordered. I asked again in the restaurant, no answer. After 75 minutes my order came out from the back. When I got home (I live a mile and a half from the restaurant) the food was room temperature. After I heated it up it was good. read more

Can not describe how special this place is. The Liu's are wonderful people and GREAT chefs. They cater lunch for their kids' classes every year on Chinese New Year. We ordered dinner via door dash last night as our normal go to was closed. We havent ate at this location for years, but figured it was good the last time, so went with it. We got the orange chicken, sweet and sour chicken, cashew chicken, and honey walnut shrimp for entrees. Sides were chicken chow mein, bbq pork fried rice, and steamed rice. We also had an order of the fried prawns and fried wontons. Entrees were all pretty good with large pieces of chicken and lots of shrimp. Flavors were good with exception of the sweet and sour chicken was a little bland. Fried rice and fried prawns were good. Chicken chow mein was very salty, making it almost inedible. The fried wontons were not fully cooked and dripping of the oil. Lesson learned that it was not worth the almost $200 through door dash for what we got and we will stick to our normal place in the future. read more
