This is the first time my husband and I have eaten here, and it was delicious. We ordered the spring rolls, which were crunchy and hot. The vegetable fried rice which was fluffy and vegetables cooked to perfection (with texture still!) and the vegetable chow mein, which again, had delicious vegetables not over cooked good noodle texture. My husband also got the kung pao chicken which he said was delicious. This is the only Chinese food restaurant in Napa we will becoming back to again. This is my favorite Chinese in Napa, hands down. The food is fresh, hot, and consistently good. Hot and Sour soup is my daughter's favorite and the house Egg fu Yung is a go-to for takeout. Veggie chow mein and Mongolian beef are staples in our choices as well. The service is fast and efficient. Very disappointing. I ordered Orange Chicken and Sweet and Sour Pork to go. Got home and discovered the Orange Chicken was balls of fried dough with chicken pieces smaller than a pencil eraser. Really great food and service!!! I always call in my order and they are quite accurate in the time wait because when I get there, my food is ready to be picked up (nice and warm *smile). Staff members are always friendly and helpful, always offering any extra utensils/hot sauce etc. And while my orders have been nothing less than $50 every single time, I remind myself that although the items do add up, it's really worth it because you DEFINITELY GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH OF FOOD! Ordered here for the first time last week. The service was friendly and even though we had to wait for our to go order we didn't mind. My husband loved the Szechuan Beef, he said it had good flavor. We also ordered Chow Mein, dumplings and pot stickers. The Chow Mein had good flavor but left a funny starchy feeling in my mouth. The potstickers filling was delicious but the wrapper was thicker than we normally like and kind of hard to chew. The dumplings were potstickers that were not fried on the bottom so we felt a little tricked there but that could have been our mistake too. It would be nice if the person answering the phone knew what was on the menu. It's very frustrating when ordering and the person can't understand "The Good Earth vegetable dish". My husband and I walk in for dinner and should have gotten a clue to turn back around and go somewhere else. There was not 1 customer eating at 6 pm. The battered shrimp still had the shells on it, the chicken salad was more like a wedge salad you had to cut with just your fork and maybe had 10 little fried strips of chicken on it and about a tablespoon of peanuts. Had a GREAT and TASTY experience here, met with much efficiency! Was arriving into Napa late having driven from SoCal. Wanted to find a spot for my mom to get some soup, and I know she loves wonton soup, so I found good Yelp reviews on this spot. It was 8:45PM a couple days before Christmas, and they had posted that they close at 9:30PM normally, so I called to make sure we could still dine in. They took our order speedily and served us straight away! THE FOOD WAS DELISH. I think it was my favorite Wor Wonton Soup that I can recall having had. The other dish we ordered with Broccoli with Shrimp (instead of Beef), and a side of steamed rice. It was really yummy. The staff was very friendly and efficient despite being near to closing, and only 1 other couple finishing their meal when we arrived - and everyone closing early for holiday errands, etc. Friendly and fastidious. Used to go to this place when it was Mandarin. Didn't realize it changed but was pleasantly surprised by the brighter feeling inside, and the welcoming staff. Menus were new, and clean (ie not covered in sticky sweet&sour sauce fingerprints). Ordered hot & sour soup, mushu pork, potstickers, good earth (mixed veggie dish), and cashew chicken. Everything tasted delicious! The delivery of food was a bit staggered but we didn't mind because it gave us a chance to try each dish without competing flavors. Dragon Valley is a new addition to Napa's Chinese restaurant scene. China House appears to be closed for renovation while Joy Luck House has an ominous handwritten "Sale" sign as people haul away indoor fixtures&decor. Formerly, Dragon Valley was Mandarin Palace. The new owners have considerably cleaned&lightened up the place. It has natural light- and while one might not want to watch street traffic, it's superior to how dark&dirty it was before. There's been carpet cleaning along with a fresh coat of paint. What a difference that makes. The waitress&the server were attentive&helpful. The service is somewhat slow, and they're only 2 weeks old (as a business),so they're dealing with the burdens of new businesses. They're just getting on their feet. They make excellent moo shu shrimp, with a sweet hoisin-like sauce, pancakes, and cabbages. Their house hot sauce is delicious. They have diverse menu offerings, from cheese puffs and "The Good Earth" (a vegetarian dish) along with chop suey. Mandarin Palace's Lovers' Shrimp is gone. They did a great job with a customer's enormous takeout order. Pro-tip- Be careful in the small parking lot. For some reason, the people going to the nearby salon go REALLY fast&furious. read more

I might take this up another star to 5 if the second experience is a good as the first. We haven't had Chinese food in Napa for quite a while because the options are frankly disappointing. But our yen was strong enough to say we'd give it another try. We'd just get some soup and spring rolls... When I called the old number I was shocked to hear the old, the number is no longer valid, the new number is... This was a good sign! We decided to order more than originally planned to give it a fair trial. We were not sorry. The soup was flavorful and had delicious vegetables in addition to the shrimp, beef pork and chicken. The spring rolls we huge and crispy and delicious. I had House Chow fun and my husband got the Cashew Prawns. Both delicious and way too much food. Next time we'll share one main. So Whoo Hoo! Service was great just come in and seat yourself which I loved since I could sit where I wanted. The lady and the waiter were very attentive to everyone and kept our water glasses full. First time trying this restaurant I didn't go pick up the food my husband did. He got home he said the place was really clean and nice. That's important to me anytime but especially during covid-19. I have had some good dishes here but...The hot and sour soup was very good, until the chef changed and it was so spicy I could not eat it. On my next visit I complained, they gave me a credit, and told me to always ask if the spicy chef was cooking. Tonight I ordered the deluxe seafood noodle soup ($17), NO indication online that it was spicy. When I picked up the order the cashier, said "soup is a little spicy", not too spicy." Seafood soup is not supposed to be spicy, and I expect a reasonable amount of seafood! Strike 2! Strike 3 was the Good Earth vegetable dish which I have ordered many times. But tonight it was flavorless and the shitake mushrooms were too tough to eat, not soaked long enough. The last straw was when I tapped too soon and the tip was 30%. This place has a lot to offer. You do have to be a but more precise what you want here though. They make a lot of dishes very well and others not so great. By far they have some of the best potstickers I've had and their sauce is amazing. As for their soup it is a bit less tasteful than I'd like but still very good. Probably Mt favorite that brought an immediate smile to my face was the veggie chowmein. They have a variety of really well cooked vegetables and it's not overly grease like most places. Tried Dragon Valley for the first time this week. Pleased to see many tables occupied and enjoying their meals. The best dish for me was the dry fried string beans. Crisp and intensely flavorful. Also tried the beef with snow peas and a chicken dish with veggies I can't recall the name of. They were both good but the sauces were nearly identical in flavor to each other. My main suggestion would be that they not be afraid to offer some more challenging dishes to their customers. Maybe by featuring a special or two each night from a different region of China to highlight the huge diversity of flavors this cuisine has to offer. Napa is ready for better Chinese food. read more
