I figured I'd write a review since everyone was giving her trouble about being unresponsive. I wrote her an e-mail last night at about midnight. Since then, she's sent me...five. We've had a great back and forth. Yes, she told me that my wedding was probably too small (I have very minimal flower needs). But not because she wouldn't do it, just because the delivery fees would make a reasonably priced wedding really unreasonable. She gave me a recommendation for someone I could try closer to the area. I'm sure if I pushed it or if it's what I really wanted/was willing to pay for, she would have done it. She never took more than two hours to respond to an email. And she has no money invested in me, so I assume if I was actually worth something to her it would be the same. Just thought I'd try to calm the fears of people who were thinking about using her but were afraid because of all the naysayers out there. See for yourself. If you don't like her, then don't use her. But at least give her a shot. She was very friendly to me anyway. read more

Bonnie, at Dragonfly Floral, did all of the flowers for our wedding a few weeks ago. She is incredibly knowledgeable and easy to work with, and she has a natural sense of what works well. I am not really a flower person, so I told Bonnie to use her best judgement when creating our bouquets, table centerpieces, and other arrangements for our wedding. The final result was incredible--locally grown dahlias and roses, as well as unripened blackberries that made for extremely unique flowers. In addition, Bonnie helped us create our chuppah (wedding canopy) by sewing our grandfathers' prayer shawls into the chuppah's canopies. She lovingly spent time creating this, since the shawls were old and delicate, and it turned out beautifully. I can't say enough how thrilled I was with the flower arrangements Bonnie at Dragonfly created for my recent wedding! When I first went to see Bonnie to discuss the flowers I really wasn't sure what I wanted but I knew I wanted the arrangements to be unique and quirky. Bonnie and her team did an incredible job for our wedding on August 23, 2014! She couldn't do delivery to our location so we picked up the flowers the morning of and I was so happy to see them so expertly packed and labelled. We met with Bonnie several months before and went through photos on Pinterest, and I was initially nervous about the final product as I never saw any kind of sample that some florists offer, but I was nearly brought to tears when I saw what she had put together. The flowers were so incredibly stunning and were exactly what I had envisioned. She truly exceeded my expectations. When I first contacted Bonnie I was very happy to learn she didn't have the very common $3000 minimum that so many Bay Area florists have. She didn't make me feel like we were skimping on our flowers and advised me on flower choices according to season and also according to the temperature at our venue. Bonnie with Dragonfly decorated my daughter's wedding ceremony and reception site with such a beautiful array of flowers !!!... She, and her team enhanced the beautiful Paradise Ridge so tastefully! Not stiff or over done, but just the right vision initially led to fabulous floral decorations! The bouquets.... to die for... just what the bride wanted for she and her bridesmaids!!! Bonnie worked with me, MOB, to secure date and she was "confidently layer-back." She instilled warm confidence and appreciation to work with both me and bride throughout wedding planning. We sought out Dragonfly to create our wedding florals on a reccomendation from one of our other trusted local vendors. We met with Bonnie in person at the Dragonfly farm over three monthes before the wedding with a pretty clear direction. My fiance followed up with an email of color photo references to be sure that we were on the same page. We had limited needs, a modest budget and high hopes for simple, classic and modern florals. We agreed to a series of corsages for our wedding party, a matching bouquet for the bride and some small simple table florals. all to be made of pink roses. Pre-wedding communication was poor. Bonnie would answer the phone, ask to call me right back and then never return my call. This happened several times. I did not feel like a valued customer at any point in the process. The order was very simple, as wedding go, and she seemed knowledgable and experienced so I had confidence that they would ultimately meet our expectations. Bonnie called the day before the wedding to say that pink roses didn't look good and strongly suggested that we change them to another pink flower. They had a long lead time to source some pink roses and yet she calls us less then 24 hrs before the event with a change in direction? I pulled my fiance out of another wedding event several times to field phone calls and navigate this last minute mistake. In the interest of time, and with limited options, we wound up with a hodge-podge of purple rose coursages and a pink peonies bridal bouquet, so that the colors and textures didn't match from one piece to the next. In a beautiful venue where every decor detail was rich and lovely. the florals provided looked sloppy and ill concieved. The table elements were an uninteresting mix of seasonal wildflowers thrown together with no inspiration. In total, the service and product provided was underwhelming. Dragonfly was the only local vendor who missed the mark of excellence during a full weekend of wedding events. read more

I must add my review of those who have been suddenly "dropped' as a client. We met with Bonnie in mid-February for our wedding at the end of August. I had given her all the information re: dates, etc. in advance of our meeting. At the end of our meeting, there was one outstanding question that she needed to confirm with the caterer. By the end of February, I hadn't heard from her or gotten her bid/contract. I emailed her and she said she was contacting the caterer the next day. The day after she was supposed to contact the caterer I received an email saying "I am no longer available for your wedding. Good luck with finding another florist". I was FLOORED! I responded asking her why she had been available two weeks earlier and now she suddenly wasn't. I recieved a convoluted story about how she had worked with another bride, 'investing hours" with that bride but had never received a signed contract back. Then, she "suddenly" got the signed contract back from the bride the day after I had emailed her. Two things: 1) at the very least, she should have the professionalism to have informed us that she had a contract pending for that date. By not letting us know there was a chance she could not do our wedding meant we lost 2 weeks to find another florist. She should have offered to connect us with another florist to make up for her "dropping us" (thank goodness it was 6 months before the wedding and not 6 weeks!); 2) It makes no sense that she would "invest hours" with a client who had never even signed the contract! My sense is, as others have experienced, that our wedding was not going to as expensive as she wanted, so it was an easy excuse. However, she never even gave us the chance talk to her about pricing. The wedding planner at the winery where our wedding is being held was shocked as well. She asked me if I wanted her to contact Bonnie to see if she could still do the wedding-- I told her there was no way I wanted her to have my money after being treated so rudely and unprofessionally. While her flower designs may be beautiful, courtesy and professionalism are a priority. read more

Trying to find a florist for my wedding. In August I emailed and explained I love tulips and they set up an appointment to meet with me. I also had to fill out a long questionnaire and provide a link to my Pinterest page prior to the appointment. I'm frustrated because I'm planning this wedding from far away and when I showed up for my appointment they explained they can't do tulips or any of the arrangements I'm interested in. That's totally fine, but don't waste my time. Explain that when I first email so I can research other places and move on. read more

We hired Dragonfly florals for the rehearsal and wedding flowers for my wedding in May and they were beautiful! We met with Bonnie a handful of times to give her a sense of what we were looking for and she nailed all of it, from the flowers for my hair, my bouquet, my husband's boutonniere, the rose petals strewn down our aisle, the table arrangements and the large vases with fruits and flowers adorning the outdoor and indoor bar areas. Bonnie was fun to work with and let us share in the bounty of Dragonfly farms - she gave us plastic bags and sent us out to pick plums and pluots and sent us home with a dozen fresh eggs from her chickens. On the day of the wedding, I called to ask her to drop off the bouquet and flowers for my hair a little earlier than planned and she was there within 5 minutes. Overall, we were very pleased with our service from Bonnie. From the get-go, she treated us well and professionally. Yes, there were minor moments when Bonnie didn't respond immediately but she apologized and made up for it in other ways. We gave her a budget to work with and Bonnie was able to make this work for us. The flowers for the wedding looked natural and beautiful -- not over the top. Three days before the wedding, Bonnie called me to tell me that our original request to have some white petals for our aisle were out, but she substituted them by using a mix of flowers (which ended up looking nicer than I previously imagined). My bouquet was simple yet classy -- which is exactly what I asked for. My daughter was married last weekend at a winery and Dragonfly did all the flowers. My daughter and I picked Dragonfly from the wineries list of florists because we loved the name. Dragonfly is a family farm, and we met Bonnie outside on a picnic bench. She understood exactly what my daughter wanted and didn't want (probably better than I did). The flowers were gorgeous: pale pinks, whites, some succulents, Dusty Miller and all in wooden containers. The huge arrangements placed on wine barrels during the ceremony were exquisite.
