Everything here tastes fresh and the drink textures that matter to boba drinkers like me are perfect. Jellies, pearls, popping boba and tapioca all hit just right. I also love that they do not skimp on ingredients. When they add toppings they actually scoop them. I haven't had anything here I wouldn't get again, but my go to favorites are their frozen drinks and wow their crepes. Their crepes are insanely decadent. The crew is always kind and leaves you alone to enjoy your tea in a quiet, quaint teashop. The decor and media around the shop from the TVs to the music to the games make it feel relaxing and fun. They also have quite a few different desserts like macarons that will not disappoint you. The outside seating is nice when the weather is cooperating and the speed of service is exactly what you expect for custom drinks. No more, no less. I've been to the location in City Market but hadn't been to this one even though frequently near it when I'm running errands. I finally had an extra moment and had been craving a boba tea so I stopped in. There was a line but it moved quick. It gave me just enough time to figure out what I wanted. The service was friendly and it was super fast. Under five minutes. I didn't even have time to really look around but they do have loose tea and different tea accessories that you can buy. I've considered reducing my coffee intake and swapping it with tea and I feel like this would be a great way to experiment and try different teas. If you don't like boba tea they also have smoothies. I've never tried them so I can't really say how they are. The boba tea is excellent. On my last visit I ordered a Thai iced bubble tea. But I've done mango and a few other flavors in the past. All have been good. They do have different boba options so you can really customize it to your tastes. I highly recommend and I'll definitely be stopping in more often. read more

Lot of flavors to choose from! My daughter's favorite chocolate milk bubble tea. I always get the mango bubble tea. I get the regular size, but should probably get the large as I drink it quickly. Lots of fun things to look at and buy. They also have a nice rewards program where you can earn points for every purchase. There are usually two or three workers and service is usually fast. Seating areas are both inside and outside. Sadly, on our last visit, there was only one worker there and she was helping two people who had no idea what they wanted and had tons of questions. She never stopped long enough to greet us or even acknowledge we were there. She did stop helping the indecisive customers when a man with a delivery order came in. He went past me in line, told her he was there for the order, she made the order, and then went back to ignoring me. After being ignored for over ten minutes, I told my upset daughter we were leaving and started our quest to find another bubble tea spot. I haven't been back to Dragonfly Tea Zone since. There was no one in the shop when we visited 30 minutes before close, so our drinks were out within minutes. There are plenty of options that look great on the menu to choose from. The Tiger Milk Tea is essentially Brown Sugar Milk Tea, which was a delicious drink. I forgot to adjust the sweetness, so it was super super sweet. This was the spot for me! I ordered Original Milk Tea which was delicious, and the interior was very inviting (what I mean by that is that there were a lot of tea products and lots of boba plushies). They had their own tea station, where you can get some loose leaf tea if you want to take a break from milk tea. Sadly it was closed due to COVID and I wanted to go back there and see what it was like. They also have DoorDash available, and one person there was there for that exact reason. This is the message that was sent to him: Hi I want to point out that I was there literally about 5 minutes before closing I got a Dragon fruit drink with dragon fruit pudding and I can tell you it was literally the worst drink I have ever tasted in my life. I've been coming here on and off for years. I've never had an issue with the drinks BUT I always order them with less sweetened and light ice. My biggest complaint is the cleanliness and cluttered nature of the place. The pictures I took are of the area between the counter and the trash can and of the top of the small water fridge next to the trash can. The wall between the trash and counter is covered with leftover spilled drinks, the floor in the corner is disgusting and the ledge all along the bottom of the front of the counter is so dirty. None of that looks like it's been cleaning in months, if not longer. The counter above this spot has the machine that puts the sealed top on the bubble teas. Under the machine is gross with spilled drinks and what looked like dead gnats. The top of the trash can is very cluttered with keychains for sale. Not sure anything should be on top of the trash can. The sink behind the counter is gross. Not sure if it's rust or built up food and drinks but it looks nasty. The top of the water fridge is gross. It's dusty and dirty. I don't even know why this fridge is needed. If they want to sell water, have customers ask for it at the counter. The whole store is too cluttered with stuff they want to sell like keychains, stuffed animals, etc. There's just too much stuff sitting there collecting dirt and dust. This whole place needs a big de-cluttering and major scrub down. read more

I stopped coming here for a reason. 1. The staff is alright but have a lil attitude 2. Boba be hard sometimes 3. Every time I'm finish with the drink I be feeling sick 4. Never have crepe batter 5. I loved it even more when the had fresh squeezed juice drinks, but Dragonfly is a favorite spot for Boba teas and smoothies. I think they use fruit purées instead of real fruit so the strawberry banana pineapple smoothie I had today was wayyyy too sweet for me but it still had good flavor. My daughter always gets a tea or iced coffee with tapioca boba. They have a variety of different teas and different boba flavors. It's always clean and just has a good essence, in general. Sometimes it can take longer than expected for a drink if there are one or two orders in front of you, but this time was faster. They seemed to have more hands on deck. They also have macaroons if you need a little something sweet. The drink price are pretty typical. $4.75 for a regular and $5.25 for a large. I wish I would have checked in before I ordered as they gave me the opportunity to upgrade the size on yelp, but I checked in after I paid. I can use it next time, though. Um, the only reason this place gets more than a single star at all is because they have a great selection of loose leaf tea. My brother brought me here because he loves the loose leaf and indulging in the occasional boba tea. Today we watched the person making it and were kind of caught off guard because a)they don't make milk tea with tea (but they have that great selection?!) b) they use unfiltered tap water to shake with the milk tea powder c) sizes have been shrunken recently, or they need to sort out the ice to drink ratio, because my brother finished his drink after two sips. Facility was not clean. Floors were super sticky, menu was too confusing, even for boba. Staff wasn't helpful. They ran out of Boba which wasn't that big of a deal to me I did not order anything with Boba in it. Even still I had to wait until the orders who were waiting for Boba 6 to 7 minutes for new boba to be made were finished before they would even start to make our order. There for making the wait ridiculous long for basically a tea. Flavor was pretty awful, in fact I threw mine away. My daughter didn't get what she asked for but drank hers even though she didn't like it either. This takes me back to the early 2000's when Boba tea was all the rage and I had the metabolism to drink a Thai Iced Tea every day. Was wanting a sweet treat after lunch so stopped in for the aforementioned Boba Thai Iced Tea. It reminded me of all the deliciousness that is the experience: the fun of stabbing that giant straw through the plastic lid, and the sweet and chewy flavors of the tea. This is a good place to get Boba tea. It's not the best but it's still good. The teas themselves are high quality but the boba is pretty average. They don't have much flavor to them. If you can, get the coffee jelly to supplement your drink. They do have a rewards system on the Five Star Reward app and it's very useful and easy to use. Tuesdays are half price original milk tea and I think they offer 10% student discounts as well. My recommendations are the Thai Tea and Lavender. Staff is pretty okay from my experience. Not exceptional but not bad so it's not a deterrent. Give this place a try and see if you like. In my opinion however, I think GoCha up a further north on North Oak offers better. read more

Was a regular customer until they gave us a large drink with 6 boboa pearls. When brought it to their attention was spoken to rudely and denied a new drink. I emailed their customer service address and received a response saying they would talk to the associate because that is not the service they provide. I was not offered a replacement drink. Best Boba Pearls in town! (Tapioca Pearls) Let me start by saying how awesome their customer service was. They were very friendly and just down to earth. Plus they made the boba teas really well. I've only had two drinks so far and I was quite impressed! Green Start: this is a great choice for all you health nuts out there. It's a smoothie that consists of kale, spinach, lime, orange juice, celery, carrots, chia seeds, green tea, and cucumbers! I asked for boba in mine and it made the healthy drink into more of my fancy :) Every Boba Place I go to...I always have to order the... TARO BOBA tea: this flavor is the make or break it for a good review from me...and I can honestly say that...I love the Taro boba tea here! Not too sweet, not watered down...just right especially when it is enhanced by the soft and fresh tapioca pearls that they put in it. My only complaint is....why is it so close to my house! KC-Yelpers. It's exciting to have the first Dragonfly Tea shop in the North Land. I've known Doug (owner) for a very long time, he's extremely passionate about tea. He started business with a little trailer towed behind his car 10yrs ago, now opening his second tea location (first is in City Market). He left behind the Healthcare IT industry to dedicate his life to tea, please support him and save the negative reviews. Just tell the staff directly if you don't like anything, they will ensure you're a happy customer. The new location is very spacious and welcoming. The loose leaf tea inventory is the largest in the mid-west. Lots of seating so grab your laptop and hang out here for awhile. The menu is similar to the City Market location. Fresh crepes, bubble tea, Vietnamese coffee, and health drinks are always freshly made. I've tried almost everything on the menu, you have to check out the Nutella crepes. After moving up North, I wanted to find my niche - a comfortable place to go for my studies and to quench my thirst. I've tried several other coffee shops in the nearby area but have yet to fit in - till now! Dragonfly is spacious, clean and modern with a great selection of drinks at reasonable prices. After several visits, I've gathered that the owner is very passionate about the product he is selling. I overheard him training the employees, and they all seem like they genuinely care. They make you feel welcomed! I had the pleasure of trying a couple hot tea lattes - the matcha and spiced apple chai. The matcha is sweet with a slightly bitter tea aftertaste. Very good. The spiced apple is subtle; I taste chai more than anything. I want to try the rest to find a favorite, because I really like the concept. Out of the boba tea flavors, I've tried taro, passionfruit, coconut milk, strawberry and chai tea. The coconut milk over ice with boba and lychee jelly is the perfect guilty pleasure drink. I'm sure there's something here to suit your mood. Play around with the flavors or ask for recommendations. They'll let you sample if you're really lost. Come on in and give them your business!
