Unfortunately, the size of the calamari was half inch to 3/4" small rings, that were mostly batter. I've never seen smaller calamari, except when I'm fishing, Flavorless, overcooked, mostly batter ....I would recommend avoiding this dish it in the future. This is not Anthony's Time to shine. Having been professionally trained by an executive chef, I know how flavors should be paired. This was a miss, in my opinion. I have had better burgers at the Hi Iu for less money. We ordered from this restaurant last night, and unfortunately, it was a terrible experience. The sweet and sour chicken was overcooked and dry, and the moo shu pork was a complete mystery -- I'm not even sure it contained real pork. The green beans were the only edible item of the meal. All the dishes lacked meat, though that might have been a blessing considering the questionable quality of what little there was. Sadly, I ended up with food poisoning afterward. We went for a late lunch/early dinner* on Saturday. The food was excellent, as was the service. We had egg foo young and chicken with stir-fried vegetables, and it was fresh and hot, and the egg foo young had huge shrimp/prawns. At that odd time of day, there were probably 6 other tables full, but we didn't have any trouble getting a server's attention. We'll definitely be getting at least takeout there in the future. We eat here a few times per month - take out sometimes, eat in other times. Today it was veggie egg rolls, won ton soup, BBQ pork phad Thai, human chicken (with black mushrooms added) and pork with hot garlic sauce.
