What is it with Crawfish boil places? I called and asked if they had gluten free and she says other people can't eat gluten and they eat here so you should be fine. I was so excited to find there was a seafood boil place in Tacoma! I've been eager to try different places in the Lincoln district as I've heard such good things. Came here with a few friends and everyone's bellies were full and we were pleased. We like spicy but not over the top burn your mouth spicy so we opted for the mild for our first time and easily could have done the hot option. I ended up asking for a side of the hot seasoning and sprinkled it over my ketchup to dip my crawfish and shrimp in. We got the garlic sauce instead of the Cajun and it was to die for! Get a few loafs of bread because you will want to soak up every drop after the seafood is gone. The garlic fries are nicely crisp and loads of garlic! Staff is friendly and space is clean. A few suggestions would be to get small, medium and large gloves. It's very hard to peel shrimp and crawfish with gloves that are 5x too big. I'm in Tacoma visiting my daughter and craved for some good seafood. After reading reviews on several different restaurants on Yelp I decided to go with Dragon's Crawfish. The pictures of the dishes won me over. I must say I was not disappointed. I've had many crab boils and one of the things that stood out about this one was the sweet spicy garlic butter sauce. Yummmm! I had the half combo for $50 and it was full of crab legs, crawfish, prawns, clams, sausage, potatoes, corn and mounds of delightful garlic bits in a sweet spicy sauce. It was so good I thought about drinking it but instead I tripled dipped everything in the sauce and used a spoon to get the extra garlic pieces. I was I seafood heaven!! The only small complaint is regarding the prawns. They continued to cook in the sauce while I was eating it and as prawns often do when overcooked some parts became mushy. But I still give the restaurant five stars because not all the prawns were like that and the rest of the food made up for it as well as the nice owners. We normally enjoy eating here. We love the prices and the delicious food. That is the only reason I am giving 2 stars. However, the owner is completely rude to customers. We asked if the drinks are refillable and the response was, "No". So, we decided to order water and the joke was "the water is refillable all day long". My husband begins to explain, "We are spending over $100 in your establishment and we can't receive a complimentary soda? Also, you only giving us tap water". Excellent and fresh quality of seafood. We ordered the half combo for $45 and it came with snow crab, clams, shrimp, craw fish, sausage, corn and potatoes. We got the garlic butter suace mild. They recommended that we get the bread to dip it in the sauce and that was amazing. The sauce was very flavorful and the bread soaks up all that delicious goodness. And they load up the garlic. The half combo is good for 2 to 3 people. They also have other menu items like garlic noodles and fries. You can also build your own seafood platter which allows you to include other seafood items like snail and other crabs but this would be the large combo. First time eating here, but not my first time having CAJUN CRAWFISH. I really wanted to like this place and come support local business owners. Had their oysters which were PERFECT. It all went downhill when my crawfish, shrimp and clams in garlic butter sauce came. The quality of the shrimp and clams were on point and I didn't really mind the frozen crawfish. The sauce however ruined everything! Not even the bread could save it and I love bread. The garlic butter was overly sweet, not much butter or flavor either. It should have been disclosed on the menu that their garlic butter was "different" (sweet) was the word the owner used. I mean if you didn't already have diabetes when you got here you sure will leave with it. They should rename that sauce/boil to sugar water and garlic. It was just all bad. I will not be returning. I will stick to Cajun Pho or The Cajun Crawfish. read more

Fairly new business and it shows. I'd rather not give any stars and just leave my review, but as that's not an option I'll leave 4 stars and return in a few months. I've enjoyed a number of great creole/Cajun seafood meals in recent years in California.. I've eagerly awaited a place similar in the area and was excited when I read a recent article in the TNT about Dragon Crawfish. I think many others were as well as the owner tonight made comment on how overwhelmed they had been the last couple days. Good flavor and we enjoyed the clams and shrimp tremendously...I sensed this was a family run operation and they truly cared that you enjoyed your meal. That being said and appreciating the desire to stand out, I'd highly recommend a few of the following suggestions. - don't run out of food..your serving frozen food after all. (Tonight no crawfish, no snow crab) - allow the option of having different spice and flavorings when ordering multiple pounds of food - turn the game off and put some lively music on. - get rid of the tiny water glasses, be quick to refill, or leave a pitcher..you're serving spicy food, right? -consider employing more then 1 waitress -imagine the tables you could turn if you put a couple more in (you have the room) and had the staff to get the food orders taken and delivered quickly. Truly the best of luck to this place, I desperately want to have this as my go to spot when the craving strikes. As it stands, they have a ways to go. Give em a try, bring your patience. I absolutely love this restaurant!!! The staff is very friendly and the food is to die for! It opened in my neighborhood while I was pregnant and craved it all 9 months! The food is amazing. However, it's not for everybody. I have taken 4 different friends there. Half of them absolutely hated it. One friend found it tolerable. One friend would eat it daily with me if we could afford it. We always get what I call "The Feast". Its four pounds of food (1 pound each of crawfish, crab legs, clams, and shrimp) as well as sausage, corn on the cob, and potatoes. We get the garlic with a level 3 or 4 spice level. I believe this costs us $60-$70, but can easily feed 3-4 people and is always worth it. Always get the dipping bread!!!! read more

Solide 4.5 starts so I'm rounding up! It was awesome to find a craw fish boil place in WA! Clean restaurant, friendly service, good flavors...we really enjoyed ourselves here. We started off with garlic fries and when they say garlic fries, they mean that literally - we were given a little bowl of fries with a heap of hot fried fresh garlic on top. I've never actually had garlic fries like that before, but it was delicious actually! Then our 3 lbs of shrimp, craw fish, and snow crab legs came out in a huge bowl flowing over the brim...and it was mmm, mmm, good! Additionally, nice big clean bathrooms - a definite plus for a place where we use only our hands to eat :) The only critiques I have are the following: - price: quite expensive for WA where seafood is quite plentiful. At the end of the day, we still paid a considerable amount (same as if not more than places like the Boil in LA or Claws in HB) - limited seating: the entire restaurant probably fits 30 people if that, so it may get pretty crowded here, especially during the dinner rush - location: i guess lakewood is relatively central, but it was quite a trek for us to get there and the neighborhood isn't necessarily the best, but it was still worth venturing to Will definitely be back for more seafood-y goodness soon! read more

This place has been opened for a while and is really close to where I live. We went around 4 pm so it wasn't too busy. There were 4 other tables already eating. The place is small so I can only imagine how long the wait is when it is busy. They put a brown construction paper that covers the whole table for easy cleanup. The waitress was nice and quick on her service. She was helpful with questions I had since it was my first time. She also gave my daughter crayons to draw with and a water sippy cup which was nice. Most places just give her a regular size cup or no water at all. We ordered a pound of crawfish, snow crab, and clams with corn in the little spicy sauce. We also had 2 breads on the side and an order of fries for my daughter. The fries came first and it was a nice portion. Hot and fresh and salty. They were thick and long but didn't have much crunch to them. The seafood came relatively fast as well. It comes out in a giant silver bowl and a bucket for the scraps. I didn't put on the bib but I probably should have, I spilled some sauce on my sweater. The sauce is really good. Sweet but also spicy and the spice level is right there since we got the little spice. The clams were huge! Usually whenever I eat clams I always bite into dirt but I didn't get any dirt in any of the ones I ate. The crawfish varied in size but there were some big pieces in there. Some of them disengrated and became soft and mushy from the heat and sauce so I couldn't eat some pieces. Too much work to try to peel each piece that broke apart. The snow crabs were delicious without the sauce and with it. Fresh chunky pieces. It slid right out of the shell. It was great. I have this place a 4 star because even though the food was great, it didn't fill me up for the price. We paid around $70 for 3lbs of seafood and I wasn't full. Wow Wow Wow! First a note to the owners... Thanks so much for a delicious meal! The sauce was awesome! The bread dipped into the sauce was FANTASTIC. My first experience: I ordered the dungeness crab with a hot spice level. The crab was very fresh and just simply delicious! All of the flavors in the sauce are well pronounced and can only be described as a symphony for your taste buds. My meal was so good I found myself back there the very next day. (It couldn't have been that good! I had to see)! My second experience: I had the snow crab and shrimp with very hot spice level. Spicy, yet super savory. Started sweating which is a good thing. The owners here really want you to enjoy your seafood experience and it shows in the food. I'm so happy to have this place close by. If I can offer a bit if advice, please DO put the bib on and save your shirt. When one is experiancing seafood bliss, something happens to the proper usage of your arms and hands to appropriately place food in your mouth. You will fumble every now and again. I feel like I've had this place bookmarked for a while and just got around to trying it Friday night! My boyfriend and I came in an hour before they closed, it wasn't too busy but there were about 3 tables. The service was really nice and quick. They inform you on how you can make your own or get everything for 2 1/2 pounds. They don't really check on you until towards the end but that is fine with me! We got the garlic fries and the 2 1/2 pounds with everything in it with the house sauce at a mild spice level. The fries were so good, I was a little sad when they didn't have Cajun fries but these for sure made up for that. 2 1/2 pounds was perfect for two hungry people. We still had a little bit of crawfish left but we ate most of it. The sauce had a lot of flavor but was a little too salty. They don't have rice either so we got bread. Staff was great about it, offered to make us more crab which we turned down. Later after some research we learned that seafood can have an ammonia smell when decomposing. I really wanted to love this place but don't think we'll be back. Hopefully it was just a fluke. The staff did take the crab off our bill but our stomachs were upset all night.
