Bubye...I called a local company...not a chain but a family business...with a receptionist who asked me to describe the problem. After hearing the issue she said it's probably a capacitor that costs about 32 bucks at Ace Hardware but if we come put it on there'd be a $450 charge. So I Googled and You Tubed...how do you fix a capacitor on a Trane A/C? After watching a couple...I went to Ace and bought a new capacitor...yanked the old one off and put the new one on...with a little bit of Jerry-rigging as it was skinnier than the old one and didn't fit the bracket...and voila! Air conditioner is humming along nicely!!! Saved a lot of money! Thanks Dorothy at Davey Heating and Cooling! It's nice to have great customer service even though I never used your service. Dorothy offered to schedule a tech that afternoon and then started running through the most common causes. With her on the line I found a blown fuse on the units motherboard and was able to replace it (props to Home Depot for having them in stock). Bottom line, she was polite, responsive AND helped me solve the issue over the phone at no cost. I will definitely call Davey Heating and Air for all my HVAC needs in the future.

But what really impressed me about Jonathan was his great communications skills. He quickly gave me a bid after seeing what the project required. When I asked him to revise the bid, he did it within minutes. Once I accepted his bid, we quickly scheduled a date. Then when he knew he would be about an hour late, he texted me to let me know. Based on my (detailed) request, I appreciated they were did schedule a consult quickly. The tech that came out (Dale), while a bit rough, almost immediately diagnosed my issue (correctly, I might add - this is after consulting with other companies (and the manufacturer) and getting a repair). The main issue was I didn't get a quote back for a week (was promised within a couple days). By that time I already had wheels in motion to have someone else to fix the issue. And, this is me being picky, is I wish he might have recommended additional maintenance to the unit - since he seemed very knowledgeable. Quick response to consult, delay in quote, which led to me to go with someone else - however, I will keep this company in mind for other needs in the future due to the knowledge of the tech.
