I gave this place 3 stars because we've gone 3 different times and have had very different experiences. First time ... went Monday night had no problem being seated with no wait. Service was very good and the food came out quickly. Sushi was better than we thought it was going be. Was very pleased with our experience. Second time... showed up an hour before the lunch rush. Was given a table immediately but asked for a booth cause we have a small child. Was told 10-15 mins, after 30 mins went to check on the wait was told 5 mins. The entire time multiple families showed and were seated. The biggest thing is as we waited for a total of 70 mins we were never seated and felt as if we were forgotten. We left after that and ate yellowtail. Third time.. waited 15 mins for a table. Ordered an app, and wasn't impressed with the beer cheese and pretzels. We ordered the burger, fish and kids tenders. All were delicious but the waitress wasn't great. At one point another waitress walked by and refilled our drinks. She continued to do the minimum and never asked about our experience. Summary... 3 different levels of experience resulted in and average rating from me. It was a good restaurant but I never know if I'm going to be pleased. read more

This place is amazing. The service is on point. Our server is TannY and she did an amazing job. She always checked up on us and went out of her way constantly to ensure our table was taken care of. Usually three crazy kids at a table can drive a server crazy, but TannY was patient and my kids loved her, which is rare. The food is on point. Whoever the cooks are, shoutout to them for making the food with love. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Just make sure to get there early because the lines can be long. Welcome to the new hot spot in town I heard about this place and was told the value and atmosphere was on point...it turned out to be true! This place is great for any occasion...date night, meeting, celebrations, or just to catch a game. You can be at the bar and have zero distractions during your viewing of the game because they have several screens AT THE BAR. Yeah, no more awkward neck crooks or strategic seating. They have sushi and it's quite decent given the fact it's not a sushi house, but there are a plethora of choices that will satisfy you and your guest(s). So I'm not a real franchise-y person but I really enjoyed the ambiance here. It flows really well with both the patio and side wall opened up. Our server was super attentive without being annoying (can be a fine line at times and she danced it well). She carded me and my coworker which is always a nice little tickle (still got it lol) I ordered an Italian Paloma and the blue cheese and apple salad with chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly and I personally hate cutting my own meat so it was nice they brought it out in bite sized pieces in a separate small dish. I also ordered it with blue cheese dressing instead of poppyseed, ya girls from NY and loves some blue cheese. And then I also ordered a hurricane. Both drinks were tasty and I'd say well made. My coworker got the twin filets and some sushi with a beer and there wasn't a scrap left on his side either so I'm gonna say all in all it was a great experience. Drakes is always solid for bar food. We always order the crab California roll and sriracha wings. The service isn't too bad. The last time we visited Drakes we sat at the bar because of the playoff games we're on. It took about 10 minutes before one of the bar staff walked over so the manager had to interject and serve us. Nice save with the manager coming in. If you want good wings and sushi to go they are a great option or if you like to sit down and enjoy the bar feel still a great option. read more

A burger patty is larger and more hearty so that was a bust. I would recommend thinking twice before coming here. Our first time coming to this restaurant yesterday and we paid for food that sat up in the heater for who knows how long. Only positive was the sushi was ok for our appetizer and the staff are nice. We decided to give the place another chance today and I ordered a salad that came out with literally nothing that described to be on it and the excuse was they were out of the items in the kitchen so that's why it wasn't on the salad. Why would you sell a salad that you don't even have 90 percent of the toppings for it in the back? Server seemed nice at first. Appetizer came out quick. Never got straws or napkins that we asked for... or silverware. We grabbed some off a table and got napkins from the bathroom. Food was decent. The bar area is a cozy section to eat cool limp sweet potato waffled fries (wait, they change them to regular at will, sorry) and 12 oz (because they don't have clean 16 oz glasses, sorry) beer and gristle chewy burger (sorry). The craft beer selection was really good with the local breweries. Our server was timely but totally stopped offering eye contact with us after we asked for warm-hot fries and was clearly not happy replacing them. We never mentioned the gristly burger. It really and truly suuuuuuuks! The poor quality of the food is only exceeded by the poorly trained staff -- lots of people running around in all directions, but no one really seems to know or care what they're doing. This is a $6.50 "bowl" of chili. Probably about three bites in a tiny little dish. It was, unfortunately, about three bites too many as it tasted like something that might be found at low tide in the mud flats. We've been to this location a handful of times and have always had a good experience. Today, there was a hiccup with our meal, and we waited about 40 minutes for our food, and when it did arrive, one of our burgers was on the colder side. My husband brought it up to the waiter, and he was very friendly about it and got the manager who apologized and covered the meal for us as well as having the burger remade. Things happen, and I absolutely understand that. But I was very impressed by how friendly and professional everyone was and how important it was to them to make it right. The sushi was the only edible part of our expensive visit. $10 for a mixed drink filled with 95% ice. My "fillet" wasn't really a fillet and we sent our waffle fries back twice since they were bordering on frozen. I went to see the Baylor Iowa state game on 9/24/22, which was on ESPN2. Baylor was ranked #17 at the time. Not only didn't they have the game on one of their endless TVs, they refused to change station. Of course they had 6 TVs on to Buffalo/East Michigan among other irrelevant games. It was the 11 am game so the place was next to empty. To make matters worse, they let me wait for 15 min to recite their bullshit "policy".
