I came in for a belly piercing and she was able to check out to see if it was possible to re-pierce my bellybutton after a previous piercing. I appreciated that she educated me on the importance and process of the piercing. She explained everything before she began with the piercing process. She made sure I was comfortable and relaxed. Once the piercing started it was basically over already. Quick and easy. Came out great plus I got a lil spray bottle that she recommended for the healing process. Definitely worth it. This piercing experience was absolutely fantastic! In the past, I've only had those guns that they use for little kids at Claire's, etc. This was the first time I've done an adult piercing with a needle or one in my cartilage at all. So I got my ears pierced after my 30s for the first time and the healing process has not been kind to my right ear. 3 weeks ago I had to make the difficult decision to take out my earring and let it close up and heal. I looked real dumb with one hoop earring in my left ear and empty on my right. My earlobe hole had moved down low and I could literally no longer put earrings into my ear because it hurt so bad and just never healed properly for 2 years. I take accountability, it was user error and my fault for getting too excited and changing out my earrings too soon. Listen I waited 30 years and that was my first mistake. So my friends told me to look up an ear piercer like professionally like all they do is piercings. After doing much research I was drawn to Dreams because of all the good reviews. I'm so paranoid about my healing process like it needs to be done right this time. I walked right in at 12pm on a Thursday and was greeted by Rob. He is better than they say in the rest of the reviews here. He's actually so kind-- he was feeding pigeons outside of his shop. It's such a small thing but says a lot about Rob's character. He's extremely careful and detail oriented with piercings. He took his time making sure to get my piercing in the right spot and he cleaned the earring piece I purchased very meticulously. I got a titanium piercing instead of gold because Rob said it would be the same for the healing process. He was very patient with me and answered all my questions. If he had told me it was too soon to pierce my ear then I would have listened but luckily I was able to pierce my ear again! I pierced it in a higher place. I'm literally not going to touch my piercing for MONTHS until my earlobe heals. I cannot tell you how painful it is to have to deal with an unhealed earlobe for 2 years. I just want to wear cute earrings!!! UGH. I'll be back in 5 weeks to change out my backing to a shorter backing. I'm grateful I have two piercings again and don't look like a fool but I'm even more grateful for Rob and his care for the piercing process. Really happy with my experience here and hopefully my earlobe heals 100% this time! read more

I chose DREAMS based on the glowing reviews about Rob--and I can confirm they are 100% true. Rob is just as caring, creative, and skilled as everyone says. I came in with second lobe piercings that had been placed too low (due to a mole on my right ear where the second lobe piercing should have been), and they had made me sooo sad for years. Rob took the time to map out different possibilities for my left lobe and even steered me away from getting a hidden helix--which I originally wanted--after noticing that I wear glasses to read. He explained that the placement might interfere with my glasses, and instead, he suggested a conch piercing, a stacked lobe above the low piercing, and a third lobe. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this place when I was thrifting on Melrose. I've been investing in fine jewelry pieces and wanted to replace the septum I had with solid 14k gold. Rob, the guy working in the front, was super friendly and knowledgeable. I really appreciated him taking his time to walk me through the different styles and sizes they offered. When we decided on the style I liked best, he had to order the size I needed and didn't order just 1, but 2 different sizes just in case I ended up liking one more than the other. I ended up paying $230 (with tax around $250) for this beautiful 14k piece that arrived just a week after I came in. This business needs every review to be a five star. I can't imagine anything less. I first visited Dreams this summer when I was looking for a tragus and bellybutton jewelry upgrade. Rob did not disappoint. Bc Rob was so kind and so helpful, I went back to get a ear lobe upgrade. Rob put together this super cute hoop, dangle box chain combo. He took his time and evaluated my holes (omg that sentence sounds way more interesting than it should!! lol ) COUGH---- he evaluated how my holes were pierced, noticing that one hole is pierced lower than the other side. So he suggested a hoop on one side and a stud on the other; something I normally would never have done, but I am so glad that I did because I'm obsessed and it's different and creative. My jewelry is sick !!! Every piece in Dreams is sick!!! SO- I'll get back on track... In addition to my jewelry upgrade, I decided to get my conch pierced. Kinda planned, kinda not.. I know, wild child. To anyone who wants to get that done- do it. The nonsense about pain exceeding a level of 8-9 is bogus. The pain is complete hype. For perspective, my earlobes hurt 10x more. I'm writing this review about six hours later, and if I wasn't so obsessed with looking at my new piercing, I wouldn't even know that I had gotten pierced today.. Pain - zero. To be honest, I had originally only wanted to buy a septum, but there was only clickers but for some reason I just felt this calling to get pierced by ASH. It was like my soul trusted her before I truly knew her capability. And she is such a great piercer. She helps you feel safe and relaxed; it's exactly what you want from a piercer. She is so knowledgeable and experienced. I could honestly say I trust her to do any other piercings I'd inquire in the future. the location carries legitimate jewelry, and can always be returned if any damage happens, which is nice. But there truly is no pressure to get the most expensive jewelry. With in reason, someone could be looking to spend around 70-100 for a piercing. Rob is the best and most patient piercer. The last time I got my ears pierced was Claire's in the mall. That was how long and ghetto it was. I can tell you this is a whole different experience! So far it's been a week and I'm really satisfied with my piercings as when I last got my ears pierced I got an infection. Then I re-pierced them and got an infection again. Therefore I just let them close. The major difference now is Rob does quality piercing- making sure of the exact location and also the material is high end. It's pricey here but you are mainly paying for the jewelry cost than the piercing. You want high quality earrings or else you will get an infection. Also Rob used gloves, made sure everything was clean and sterilized. I really appreciated the safety measures taken and I would highly recommend anyone coming here. read more
