Not a pet, not a purse accessory a trained service animal. Instead of being helpful or respectful, the woman there gave me attitude, smirked and made it clear I wasn't welcome & said her husband told her dogs aren't allowed. Completely unacceptable. After years of loyalty, I won't be coming back. Not worth dealing with rude, unprofessional employees who don't even know the law. Also no, tattoo shop staff (or any business employees) are not allowed to ask for service animal "papers" or documentation. Under federal law in the U.S. (specifically, the Americans with Disabilities Act - ADA), staff can only ask two questions if it's not obvious what the dog is doing. Also if your service dog is behaving appropriately (not barking, aggressive, or out of control), they legally cannot deny you entry or service just for having the dog.DO BETTER!

They informed me that tongue rings are $20 for the jewelry alone--not including the actual piercing--so it's something to be aware of before making the trip. Parking is a bit of a question mark since I didn't fully experience it myself, but given the area, I would expect it to take some patience. One thing I will say is that I do like that they stay open until 2 a.m. It's nice knowing there's a late-night option if you're ever in an emergency situation where you absolutely need a tongue ring. I hadn't been to Through Your Skin in years, but I called anyway because I had no idea what to do... and Kristi immediately offered to help. She switched it back to the original barbell she pierced it with (for an amazing price), and as soon as she changed it, it already felt so much better. She explained exactly what to do to bring the swelling down -- and it totally worked. I was honestly so relieved I came in. It saved the day! While I was there, she also changed out a piercing I had just gotten a few days before at another shop (I didn't love how it looked), and helped me pick out a new piece of jewelry for it that I'm obsessed with.
