Drew's is a small, casual tavern not far off US1 in Melbourne, FL. We popped in for lunch today and sat inside since it was too hot to sit outside, but they do have outdoor seating as well. We sat at the bar area, and bartender Brandi was very friendly and offered up recommendations from the food menu and gave us some samples of beers we had not tried before. We like that they offer $3 pints on Domestic beers. There was an issue with some of the taps producing too much foam. Wanted to try the crab cake sandwich, but they were out of the crab cakes, so I ordered the mushroom Swiss burger with fries ($13). The burger was a thick patty and cooked just as requested. My counterpart ordered the 3- count blackened Mahi Mahi tacos off the appetizer section for ($14). The fish was also cooked well and the tacos quite tasty. Drew's offers some gaming machines and some mounted TV's for entertainment. We learned that Thursday evenings is Lady's Night. They have limited beer taps but did have additional craft beers in the can; just ask what they have. Our receipt was very confusing. The question I have on our receipt is that the sales tax rate in Florida is 7%. The subtotal on our bill was $36. 7% tax would be $2.52 but the tax showing on our receipt was $3.08 (a little more than 8.5% sales tax and .56 cents more than what we should have been assessed for sales tax), so what's going on here? That brought our total to $39.08. Then if we paid cash, the receipt said it would lower our total to $37.76 (a 3.5% discount). Is Drew's discreetly charging customers the credit card merchant's processing fee for using a credit card to pay for drinks/meals? There is no disclosure on their website or on the printed menu explaining that there are two different prices for your food and drink orders. If you pay with a credit card you will be paying more than the price listed on the menu. AND your receipt states "Listed Menu Prices reflect Cash Prices." That means that if you are NOT paying cash, you are going to be paying more for your food orders than it is listed for on the menu. This is not disclosed up front. Therefore, patrons can conclude that you are being assessed a 3.5% upcharge for using a credit card to pay your bill. Full disclosure would be posting this business practice on their website, printing a statement on their menu, and listing two prices on the menu next to food items (cash price, and paying with a credit card price). I certainly didn't expect that I would be paying more for my food than the price that was listed on the menu. This is not cool. (see receipt in photos attached) I had intended to give Drew's a 4* rating based on food and service, however this upcharge business for paying with a credit card caused me to lower the rating. We are from Fort Lauderdale and were in town for a softball tournament at Space Coast Softball Complex. After a crazy day (switching hotels, rain/lightning storms and the sweltering heat), we could not wait for a burger and a beer. This place was a towny bar with amazing prizes and delicious food. The cook was on point and did not delay on these orders. The loaded potato skins were out of this world--fresh, HOT and cheesy. My Alabama Slamma Burger was juicy with a warm bun and crispy bacon. My daughter loved her wings and onion rings. NOT only was the food FIRE, but Ed (NOT Drew) was a one-man band---bartending, servicing, bussing his own tables and did it all with a smile on his face. He was fast, efficient, honest and easy to chat with. He clearly multi-tasks so well that having another employee there would throw off his rhyme. I typically tip well, but didn't think twice when it came to leaving a 30% tip today. Thanks Ed for ending our day on a the right foot. read more

Came to the restaurant on a recommendation of a coworker. The restaurant is quaint and tucked behind of another restaurant and has a beach/pub vibe. Hardwood floors, half corrugated and planked walls make the scene of a pub. It has 4 big screen TV's to watch the games. Plenty seating at the bar. I ordered the potatoes skins with chili appetizer and the buy one get one free chicken wings. We ordered 2-orders of 5 wings.and was plenty for the 3 of us. The potatoes skins were overcooked and a bit crunchy but they were still good. The wings were flash fried and sauced up. I mean really sauced up! They have plenty items on the menu, the next time we come we are going to go for the gumbo. My husband had the Florida Lager beer. Glass was nice and icy. We had friends in town and wanted to share the downtown vibe of Melbourne creating our own Pub Crawl. We were quickly greeted and offered a table. Not sure where the next person came from but loudly he said "you can't bring those in here!" Referring to our take out boxes from the previous stop. At this point it felt like all eyes in the area were on us. We had no intention of eating the food in the take out boxes, we were just saving room to be able to try a bite at each restaurant. We went as a family of four (2 young teens) on a Saturday night and there was no wait. Super friendly atmosphere. We grabbed a table and orders drinks. Extensive list for beers, not so much for wine, but a very generous pour. Had the nachos as an app and they were pretty darn tasty. Ordered a few burgers and the buffalo grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was really good! Excellent burger. Perfectly done and super tasty. The fries were so crispy. The crowd was locals which is always a good sign. Great place for some tasty grub. This place was such a great find! Our son just moved to Melbourne and we were there dropping off some things for him. Came for lunch here and had the Mahi Tacos that were absolutely fantastic. The order came with three (tacos were listed as an appetizer) and were more than filling. Our son had the Philly Cheesesteak. He ordered it with the beer cheese sauce but the kitchen made a mistake and put on Provolone. Before it came out, our waitress/bartender Brandi, came out apologizing and asked if he wanted it remade or the beer cheese on the side. He said just put it on top. It came out on the side (they wanted to make sure he liked it) and it was fantastic as well. Five stars for service and five stars for the food! They have outside seating as well.
